  1. http://www.eprkc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/EPR-Acquisition-of-CNL-Portfolio-11-2.pdf According to the information in this slideshow, all of the theme parks and some of the water parks will be operated by Premier.
  2. Sorry to bump a thread, but I wanted to give an update on the new drop ride. They had a naming contest and came up with the name "Brain Drain" which is suspiciously close to the "Brain Drain" name of some rides they built very recently at Darien Lake, Elitch Gardens, Frontier City, Splashtown Waterpark and Rapids Waterpark. I could be over analyzing but they're owned by the same company, CNL. The ride isn't open yet, but it's almost completely put up. It has a prominent appearance in the middle of the park that's easy to notice driving by.
  3. Great start to your trip report! It's nice to see that at least one person is consistently reporting on Washington's few attractions. ( I only post on these because the last out of state park I went to was SFMM two years ago ) I went there on the last $9.99 Sunday the weekend before in a kind of last minute trip with my friend. We arrived there kind of late but the weather started looking up. Then it rained. We got an interesting ride on the timberaxe with water pouring down on us. xD Then they slowly started closing down rides and then whole sections of the park until we essentially were cornered out of the park nearly an hour early. You're lucky, Nrthwnd that they still have everything open when it's raining!!
  4. Great trip report! The tower is an S&S Combo? That makes sense, with the program on it. Google didn't help much with that info. I went today and the weather was great! Crowds put me off rides, and they removed the HUSS Jump I wanted to ride so I didn't go on anything. Wild Waves opens in less than a month anyway! There were a lot more things I'd never gotten to before that were pretty amazing! Oh man the Rainier Rush crowds are a sad sight. But humourous! And I went to that same fried food place and tried their fried zucchini. Not so great, they were long slabs of whole zucchini with no salt.
  5. The tower at the Puyallup Fair is a Power Shot. From what I read, the Double Space Shot coming is only 100ft vs. 185ft for the extreme scream and it has a different program. But maybe that can be changed? I agree, the front seat of the Timberhawk at night is amazing! I missed it last Christmas season because of various things but I'll be sure to go this next year! It really adds a head chopper quality to the bottom of the first drop! I'll probably go to the Cinco de Mayo festival for the season opening with my friend. Why not, they have food trucks and admission is only $10! The Tukwila Family Fun Center looks like a blast! I'd like to go but I'm afraid of being overrun by kids under 12. Theyre not operating their swing? Maybe it's the weather? Business? They have a whole. Mini park there! By the way, the Washington Spring Fair runs this Thursday through the weekend. The Coaster and half the rides will be running, but no armbands.
  6. Honestly if they just cleaned up some of the old theming the park would have so much more ambiance. That old seating area and dry fountain, the small decorations and dry river between the kids land and the northwest area just look depressing. Not to mention one of the old skit platforms that they just covered up with a new kids ride. ( It's only visible from riding the gambler. ) Maybe with the parks being separate they'll actually bring back "The Enchanted Village"! About replacing the Wild Thing, I agree! Is there any room for a standard Boomerang in that space? ( I've never seen one in person, hard to believe! ) I know it's not the greatest, but at least it would offer a more interesting and slightly lengthier ride.
  7. This is great news! New thrilling flat rides are definitely going to be a plus when going this year. From what I've been reading on the Magic Springs thread on here, the drop tower is their old S&S Double Shot. CNL ( The investment firm that owns the old Six Flags parks ) decided to take down a few rides there and send them to other parks. Frontier City got their Power Surge. Their drop tower was called "Dr. Dean's Rocket Machine" if you're curious about it. I heard about the enterprise from screamscape but there are no manufacturer details from them. Not that screamscape is a concrete source! The management said they were working on the wave pool in response to Facebook comments. I hope that's true! EDIT: It looks like Frontier City removed their HUSS enterprise to make room for the Power Surge. Best guess is that's where the Enterprise came from. Which is great! They're new to us!
  8. Rainer Rush, definitley. That ride is ridiculously painful... But I'll ride it if I have a companinon who wants to.
  9. So, apparently Silverwood's 2016 addition is a giant racer waterslide in Boulder beach? ( I forgot the model name ) Here
  10. I finally got to the fair last Friday! I didn't get to go to many exhibits because of time restraints. It's a shame too, they look great from this tr! The two notable rides were the coaster and evolution. That new sign looks amazing on Coaster Thrill Ride! This was the first time I'd ridden in the very back and WOW. I usually don't hold on to anything when I ride roller coasters but I was sure I was gonna fly out if I didn't hold on with this one! XD Evolution was lackluster for me, I've been wanting to ride a pendulum style ride for years but this was more like a hang in restraints for 2 minutes kind of a ride. But I can't say more than that because I have nothing to compare it to! Yeah, that Fabbri Hard Rock was here last year! I'm disappointed in myself for not riding it, it's apparently very rare. But it was gone this year. In fact I noticed they were missing the rock-o-plane, inverter and jumping too. More vendors means more money vs rides I guess.
  11. Awesome PTR! Nice pics. Coaster Thrill Ride is the best roller coaster in Washington State, in my opinion! So much airtime. It's too bad it's only open for 3 weeks out of the year. Rainier Rush is... Yeah painful. There's no other way for me to describe it. Regardless I've been on it 5 times... It's too bad you didn't get the chance to ride Evolution, it looks like a great ride. I'm curious, was the Fabbri Hard Rock still there? I live really close to the fairgrounds so I'm going there on Friday with my friend! But sounds like a great event this year.
  12. It's that time of year again... The Washington state fair is open until September 27th. I hear that they added a new flying carpet ride called Rock Star ( probably to replace the aging Sinbad ) and a Fabbri Evoloution. Is anyone going or maybe planning to visit this year?
  13. Great trip report and great pictures! I haven't been to Silverwood in 5 years! In my honest opinon, it's the best. Granted I've only been to Wild Waves, Magic Mountain and Disneyland California but it beats those with the beautiful grass, landscaping and awesome rides! Plus being grounded to Wild Waves isn't too appealing either. Did you try the new spinning coaster in the kiddie area? It looks so fun!
  14. Living in Washington state, I don't have a choice of many theme parks to go to during the summer. But, the only two parks in the state are no more than 30 mins from where I live! So I always make a point to go at least twice a year. For the first three weeks of May amusement ride only admission is only $9.99, so I decided to go with a friend! I took a few pictures of some of the improvements and changes I saw and a few of the rides. Sorry if some if the pictures are blurry, I'm still getting used to my new camera. They're repainting all of the kiddy slides in Hooks Lagoon! It's nice to see them so colorful and shiny. ...On the other hand, maybe they're removing it. That would be pretty sad considering it was only built three years ago. They're tearing up the Downhill Tubin' attraction. It got some pretty bad weather damage, so they might just be repairing it. It turns out that they're giving the old Scrambler a much needed repaint, and moving it next to the lake where the Octopus used to be! Considering how creaky and isolated it used to be, this is a great improvement! Amphitheater-like place that was used for the extreme bike show last season. I think they had a raptor thing here too? They're planning on their grand re-opening being May 23rd. Good luck... The Disko was running well! The Wild Thing, which was beating people up pretty hard. I sat near the middle and got side-to-side front-to-back headbanging. But hey, it's better than the Rainier Rush, aka Typhoon at the LA County Fair. Right after the first drop, I'd recommend riding in the first two rows. There's some light ejector air! The Timberhawks lift We went to ride the scrambler, and found... ...Nothing but a bunch of seats. Sad Western theming left by Six Flags Sad dry fountain that could be nice if they actually did something with it This would be a pretty nice sitting area if it was taken care of. A glorious Larson Ring of Fire that has great hangtime. Loop You basically let your head hit the ceiling. This thing is funner than it looks!! These new Whitewater West slides were supposed to be built last year but were delayed until 2015 for some reason. I've heard great things about the constrictor slides, it looks like an awesome addition! Apparently there are early entry benefits for season pass holders. Interesting.
