Alien Panic at Space World
jedimaster1227 replied to CycloneMan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Sorry. Forgot to put that the cameo was made in DisneyQuest's Invasion! He basically comes to a presidential release announcing that X-S Tech will be providing your crawlers for the rescue mission. -

^ I though he meant was it directly related to the former attraction. I read too much into it... -

All that is left of Alien Encouter (Disney's version) is Skippy in Stitch's Great Escape and a cameo from X-S Tech and Chairman Clench in DisneyQuest's Invasion! -

NOW UPLOAD STREAMING VIDEOS TO TPR!
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What about the iPod video formatted versions of our videos (as I know you had been pushing that at one point)? Do we also upload that or should we wait until the video gets a certain amount of downloads before uploading an MP4 version of the video? -
The closest I can relate to this would be two events that both took place at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay/Africa: 1. My first ride on the Python caused me to have a gray-out. Those corkscrews really were killer... 2. We went to Busch Gardens on one of the least busy days of the year (off season for tourists). I rode every coaster at least ten times and threw off my equilibrium. That basically got me a one day ticket to stay in bed as I could barely stand up without getting dizzy. Now, I am a little more careful... I only ride Busch Garden's coasters 5-8 times each per visit...

I wish they would open something like this to the public. They could probably prepare the astronauts for weightlessness just by letting them ride on that first drop... -
Fresh Universal Orlando Update

"I have already purchased my opening night, opening show tickets. Have you?" http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33009. I have cooties? If I do, of what kind are they? Not the dreaded Vekoma cooties!!! -

^ I got those tickets the day the ticket office opened. I believe it was the day after the press event. I have mentioned it before, especially in my last thread which covered the Universal Orlando Resort. I am really excited. I have already seen the show in New York (that was what got me hooked on the Blue Man Group) and since then, I have been waiting for an Orlando show. Just my luck to be getting one now huh? -

Wow! So much has happened to the resort since last Friday! Last week, they were just painting the overhang of queue to the Blue Man Group show. Now, they are painting the building. Last week, there was still a mighty-big sized whole in the Studios side of the Nascar Grille. Now, it is open and looking better than ever (hopefully the food and the service improved during the transition between owners). I have my Blue Man Group tickets for the opening show, opening night. I was a little excited about the show, so I ended up being the third person to buy a ticket for the first show (I called one minute after the ticket office opened for the first time). We are in the seventh row, middle section. I am guessing that they have reserved much of Section A for the media, but I could be wrong. -
Journey to Japan

^^ and ^ Thank you very much! My host family really made me feel like I was a part of the family, and by doing so, I felt like I was truly a part of the community of Urayasu. It was a truly great experience and I cannot wait to go back in two years! -
Journey to Japan
jedimaster1227 replied to jedimaster1227's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just wanted to give an update about what has been going on since my "Journey to Japan." Since I returned, I have spoken with my host family several times via email and soon I will be talking to them via skype. We are already planning for my return visit in 2009 (12th grade). In fact, they have promised to take me to Fuji-Q Highland on the day that we get to spend together. They also plan on coming here to Orlando within the next two-three years (once Miyano and Chino are old enough to handle all of Orlando's theme parks). I recently recieved a gift from them in the mail with some photos of us together that I didn't have. Here they are... Miyano and Chino riding the Kid Hacker. In this photo, Takeshi and I are riding the park's "Spinning Coaster." (The quotes are there because the actual title of the coaster is Spinning Coaster.) Here we are, together at La Qua. The food in Japan is just so amazing! I figured that as a member of the family, I should help make dinner. Lets just say that Japanese hamburgers make for an awesome dinner! Miyano and Chino drew their version of La Qua's Big O for me in the scrapbook they sent me. -

^If that happened to me, I wouldn't have ridden Apollo's Chariot again... But then again, with all of the hype on that coaster's insane airtime, I might have to think again on that conclusion... -
New coaster webcomic

I enjoyed that more than his, so it might just be his humor. It still isn't the funniest theme park comic I have seen, but I believe that this single 5-minte work was funnier than any of the OP's comics... Robb, I think you have a knack for forum-based humor! -

Personally, I find Flipdude's comics to be on a completely different level when compared to these. I feel sorry for you if you paid to keep this site open... -

This post has become the best part of the thread. Thank you Wes! Not in this case... The only thing thats funny about this comic is that you actually think it has humor to it. What can one say but: -

^ Is this the first of one that has had negative comments? Where else have you posted this where someone has made a positive comment? I'm interested to see what they say... Drawings aside, the comments and captions pretty much kill it... -
How did you end up here???
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found Theme Park Review through google when searching for "On Ride POVs" or something like that. I had originally just registered for the videos, but when I saw how cool it was here, I hopped on in. Plus, meeting a fellow TPR member on Kraken and then another at Epcot got me even more involved. Getting to meet some of the TPR fame like Robb, Elissa and Guy just took the cake for me. Remember everyone, if you have one goal for your time on TPR before you die, meet Robb and the rest of the TPR crew, as it is one of the most unforgetable experiences ever. It makes going to theme parks even better!
