  1. My friend Ian and I were at basball tryouts today. While waiting for our numbers to be called, his mother asked if I wanted to go to the South Florida Fair with them. I called my mother to ask, and after she said yes, I told her to bring a change of clothes. It was a very fun day today. If you read my trip report from last year, you'll know that there were a couple rides that I'd ride again, a couple that were good to hit once, and one that I wished I'd never ridden. But Ian wasn't on the trip last year, so I decided to suck up the pain and hit the painful rides with him. Here's a listing of the rides that we did in order. We did every ride listed here once except for the Mega Drop. Mega Drop - a.k.a. Big Ben This was the first ride that Ian and I hit. Unlike last year, it was actually running. I really liked this. With three abreast, you quickly ascend 135 feet upwards, before pausing at the top for about 30 seconds. There are a couple of fakeouts before the actual drop, but you can hear the air pistons going off to shoot you down. The drop was about a second long and full of airtime. The stop is one of the most intense I've ever seen. When riding this at night, you get a beautiful view. The second time we rode this, we convinced Ian's wimpy twin brother, Eric, to ride it. He was FREAKING OUT on the drop, and kept freaking out on the ground. A ride op came over and said, "First time?" Eric yelled, "THAT WAS AWESOME!" I have since persuaded him to ride Sheikra in April. Fireball - a.k.a. Chance Revolution The Fireball was one of the best fair rides that I have ever been on. The thing wastes NO TIME, shooting you up to its apex after a few swings and keeping you up there for a very long time. The entire ride was chock full of positive and negative G-forces. Coaster 1 As stated in my other review, this was a close copy of Cedar Point's Wildcat. It was running the same as always. Turbo Force - a.k.a. Kantanga As I stated last time, Turbo Force is by far my favorite ride at the park. However, to cope with long lines, you got three rotations around the ride and then the end. Since Ian and I were there on a weekend, they weren't offering unlimited ride wristbands. The price was six tickets (a dollar per ticket), and I don't think it was worth six tickets for six rotations. Disregarding that fact, Turbo Force is a friggin' amazing ride and you should hit it whenever possible. Just a warning - after dropping back down from the top, you go through some moderately painful flips. Crazy Mouse Just like last year, Eric loved this one. Ian found it just fine. The spinning was a bit toned down from the other year, though. Yo-Yo - a.k.a. Formerly Built In A Field The Yo-Yo was one of the rides that completely switched locations on us. Instead of being partially built in a field, it was built completely in a parking lot. Ian and I had fun twisting our chairs (it's a chairswings ride) and taking pictures with our camera phones. Haunted House - a.k.a. 5ยข This was the two cents ride from last year, only they upgraded it a bit. The ride wasn't as choppy, and the scenery still was a bit better. Fun House - a.k.a. Let's Disturb Other People Ian, Eric, and I spent about ten minutes in this fun house. Hey, we paid three tickets for it; we're going to make the best of it. Every effect was running this time, including the tumbling barrell. Oh man, fun times, fun times. Space Loop - a.k.a. Ripsaw If you remember my review of the Space Loop from last year, good. If you don't, read it. I mentioned how it was nothing but backflips throughout the entire ride. This year, they mixed the program up. There was a couple frontflips thrown in, and there was a fake-out of the ending. Pretty much, this squished our nuts like last year, only about five times worse. I saw a hot chick who smiled at me and gave me that look during the ride though. It's too bad that she walked away before I got off. This one also completely switched locations. I thought it was removed for good until we found it on the other side of the midway. Rides We Did Not Hit White Water It was something like sixty-five degrees out; I'm not getting wet in that. Spin Out - a.k.a. Top Spin, a.k.a. Scantron I found out this ride's actual name. I refuse to ride this son-of-a-bitch again, but I somehow convinced Ian to. However, the ride operator said it was closed. Damn him. Rainbow - a.k.a. Basher Ian, Eric, and I didn't ride this because you can't have single riders (for good reason, too), and we didn't have any tickets to waste. Damn the South Florida Fair and their money-laundering schemes. Coaster 3 Eric went on this one with his younger brother and the brother's friend, but Ian and I were too busy doing the actual thrills to ride this one. From what I recall from last year, it was a decent thrill with a nice drop. Pirate Ship Waste of time. House of Mirrors No. Bumper Cars If I want whiplash, I'll ride Son Of Beast from a wheel seat. Zipper Sorry, but going upside-down in a jail cell isn't my thing.
  2. Heh, that partially reminded me of the South Park episode when they did the Civil War reenactment but Cartman, as usual, screwed everything up. Eventually, everybody got drunk off of S'more Schnapps and became obsessed with the Confederation. Go figure.
  3. Back in July, I rode the Steamin' Demon and the Comet twice in the rain. This was at Great Escape in Lake George, New York.
  4. Sorry if that was taken the wrong way. What I meant with the part about the opinion was that so many people are posting for posting's sake, it leads me to believe that these people think that they can get away with it because of the belief that their opinion is supreme on Robb and Elissa's site, which it is not. Hopefully this cleared up any misconceptions with my post; I worded it pretty poorly near the end.
  5. You're not twisted, TPR has merely taken over your mind. Erm, self-correction, at least you're not twisted to us. Zach "It's still a friggin' amazing community, no matter how much it twists its members" Anderson
  6. I'd say my diet is almost exactly like Real's. I'm an omnivore who cannot stand any kind of fish, including sushi.
  7. Can do, Robb. Personally, I think my posts have been pretty productive as of coming back (thanks, Wes). A note to all the new younger members here: Robb busts his ass every day trying to make this website as appealing to everybody as possible. Take the time to make sure that what you're posting can help make his efforts worthwhile. So many people out there seem to think that their opinion matters as much as Robb's does, but it doesn't, and if you guys understand that, people will stop yelling at you for sloppy posting. Thanks.
  8. Great update as usual. Personally, I don't think you should remove Monstruo. If people are complaining about capacity, increase the train size and/or add more trains.
  9. That's what I'm nervous about, benzo. I'm 14 years old and finally hit the big 6 foot mark last night.
  10. Yeah, it's given to users who were banned so others know they were and don't try to contact them.
  11. Awesome park, John. Just like everyone else said, I can't wait for the next update. Doubtless it will be as inspiring as the previous ones.
  12. Tonight, I got a dog. His name is Allman. He was apparently on ESPN.
  13. It depends for some people. I refuse to wear glasses on roller coasters because of the fear that I'd lose them (well, now with my contacts it's not a problem). My pair are fairly loose on my face. But on the flipside, one of my friends wore glasses on the Dania Beach Hurricane with no problem, and I have a video of someone on Millennium Force wearing glasses without a strap. They didn't move an inch. I would recommend (sp?) being on the safe side and not wearing them, but it is your decision.
  14. Tonight I got Tony Hawk's Project 8. The controls aren't as precise as I like, but it's a great game. It's definitely not as forgiving as the three-most recent installments.
  15. Tony Hawk's Project 8 has a very clunky control design. I'm used to the precision of my THPS4.
  16. I don't know, a couple of pictures from camp this year. That bottom picture is thrown in for the HA value.
  17. I have Guitar Hero I with the SG Controller. I can pass a few songs on Expert (like Take Me Out...I haven't tried too many) and am a Guitar God on Easy and Medium. I am most likely getting II for Hanukah. Just a couple days...
  18. Seeing as BANTRONNED isn't a user title that will attract the ladies, I'm requesting a change to "Florida's #1 DBH Fan". Don't ask. Thanks.
  19. Getting the rights to the song would be far too much of a hassle, not to mention WAY out of Robb and Elissa's budget. I don't know anything about copyright and license laws, but I'd guess that licensing is not required because the DVD is not being sold publically (i.e. in stores). Oh, I'm back.
  20. It wasn't exactly an unnecessary comment. I was asking the topic creator. Whether you wish to believe it or not, your comment was indeed the unnecessary one. Thanks for answering a rhetorical question, you've made yourself look that much stupider. And by "numerous" complaints, if you mean BeemerBoy, he is the one with "sass" and the one being an "obnoxious twit". Now let's stay on topic. If you wish to have a go at me, kindly do it over PM.
  21. Thank you for your completely unnecessary response. Sure, people with the money pay $90 for shoes, but they're just shoes. There is a point where you're going from better quality to flaunting your money.
  22. We're really advancing in innovation right here...
  23. It should be: I don't know, why don't you EMAIL DAN!!!! to find out. Wow, even bbCode doesn't do it.
