  1. Best part of the video, 1:18: Tyler: "Am I getting laid tonight?" Bryan: Shakes head without hesitation. That haunted house was one of the best investments I've ever made.
  2. HAHAHAHAHA, Scott this is so awesome! That had to be the best trip I've ever taken to BGA, mostly because we did both KaTonga and Pirates 4D! Also, what's with the complaining about the cold weather? We took ERT on Compounce's rapids ride at night in colder weather, 3/4 of us could handle a little Arrow log flume. You're from Indiana, man up with the cold weather! p.s., Nice title to the thread. "Hello secondary characters!"
  3. ^I keep seeing people make comments about how they don't like the way the ride looks, but I'm starting to wonder how many of those people have actually been to Universal and seen this thing in person. The way the ride stands out when you're walking around the park is something Universal has been needing for a long time. When you approach the two parks from CityWalk you see Hulk twisting over IOA with the lift hills of the Dragons in the distance, when you look over the studios side you see a bunch of buildings. With the way Rockit looks now, from the moment you leave the parking garage you see this thing maneuvering above the Studios, which is a much needed addition to the skyline on that side of the property. Rockit really draws your attention to The Studios the way Hulk draws your attention to IOA. I was skeptical about this project when it was announced, but I've seen it in person and "eyesore" is one of the last words I'd use to describe it.
  4. Oh ok Bryan that's fine. I say on Sunday that I want to go to the Polynesian and you're all like "wawawawawawawawa" and now here's an update where you're eating at the Polynesian. That's fine, I see how it is. I like the shirt you picked out in that update by the way.
  5. Bryan and I were at Disney on Sunday and we say tons of runners all over the place, we were speculating whether or not we'd see this pop up on the forums! Awesome job finishing the marathon, I used to do long distance swimming races so I know how it is to train for these type of things. I'm way too lazy nowadays to do something like that, running a marathon takes dedication!
  6. ^^I rode EE today and the steam was working in the station and the audio was fine. The coaster itself was actually running extremely well, it was much more intense than I remembered it being. Obviously the bird on a stick was gone and so was the Yeti and the mist, but other than that they had four trains on the track and the ride was running without issue.
  7. 26-3. Nobody cares about the Hurricanes anymore. The only good football in Miami is the Dolphins. (when I say "good", I really mean "team I can tolerate/cheer for") I'm just giving you a hard time
  8. Hell yeah! I live right off of University Ave by the stadium and took part in the mob scene that was Gainesville on Thursday night. Class this morning was pretty bleak... Eat that Beemerboy!!
  9. Maybe the "wheels rollin" hint means new trains to go with a newly re-tracked Grizzly. I'm just sort of taking a shot in the dark on that one, but that would seem to make the most sense to me since a new ride announcement seems unlikely this time of year.
  10. ^As someone who lives in a huge college town, I disagree. I know a lot of people who go to BGA over the other Central Florida parks because of the beer. Obviously this is the college-aged GP I'm talking about, but it's really easy for a lot of people to get more than one free beer while they're at the park as long as they go during different employee shifts at the Hospitality House. I have plenty of friends who go to BGA quite often and NEVER go to Disney or Universal strictly because of the availability of alcohol and the cheap price of the fun card.
  11. ^This entire thread seems to be about some old tripod site: http://members.tripod.com/matt.meckley/ Are you trying to switch the site over to the actual "hpcrazy.com" address or is this the site you're talking about?
  12. Cedar Fair said they weren't interested in the properties.
  13. That's nice, I'm a Sea World/ Busch Gardens AP holder and they're going to take away the free beer the year I turn 21. Fantastic.
  14. I think it's an improvement over the old site, although they still have room to improve when it comes to being easy to navigate. I also noticed a few typos and misspellings while browsing the site, so hopefully Disney will clean this up quickly. i.e.
  15. ^People were mentioning that IOA was in trouble because of the disastrous "Universal Escape" campaign. When Universal opened IOA it ran a heavy add campaign that really didn't tell people that all of these new things were an entire new park. You can clearly see IOA from I-4, but because of a marketing failure on Universal's part nobody really knew what Islands of Adventure was. Obviously, IOA turned out to be a great success because it's a really awesome park, but it did get off to a bit of a rocky start when it came to getting people through its gates.
  16. ACC/SEC rival games for the season: Florida > Florida State South Carolina < Clemson Georgia < Georgia Tech The ACC has been awful during the bowl games, but during the regular season they certainly held their own IMO. Not that any of the recent bowl games really matter, since my school will be playing on January 8th! Go Gators!
  17. I took a night ride in the front row of Phantom's Revenge when it was 50 degrees and raining. The rain and cold was sort of painful, but the intensity and speed of that single coaster ride topped any other ride I've ever gotten on a coaster. I don't think I'll ever forget that trip to Kennywood.
  18. Sorry, I missed this post and didn't respond. Yes, SFOG was my homepark for two years. I love Goliath, but I think you need to learn the difference between negative G's and floater airtime. It really is an awesome coaster, but in terms of G forces it flutters around zero on the hills.
  19. Holy crap! The pacing on this thing is sick! I didn't realize that this was supposed to be this much of a thrill ride, I thought this was going to be more tame like the Motocoaster. Awesome pics, thanks for posting them!
  20. Last week I went and saw Manchester Orchestra with Kevin Devine and Dead Confederate in Orlando. This is the second time this year I've seen Manchester Orchestra live and I've grown to be a pretty big fan of their music. Last time I saw them was in the spring in their hometown of Atlanta, so this show was a lot more laid back because they aren't as well known in Central Florida and the venue was pretty small. Rather than put on a full spectacle like they did when I saw them in Atlanta, they sort of just got on stage and had fun with it. During their set they did a humorous song about why 50 cent is so talented and then at the end of the show they did an encore where they free-styled a cover of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. It was a fun show, Kevin Devine was really good as well. Manchester Orchestra at The Social in downtown Orlando. I took a video of them covering The Fresh Prince theme song and might upload it later. If you didn't read the above text, then this is Kevin Devine. He was one of the opening acts and was pretty solid. Side note: on the way to the show I stopped by IOA for about 30 minutes. I bought a drink and it came in this really outdated cup, and I couldn't help but think "BECAUSE IT S.U.C.K.E.D A.S.S.!" "Same unfunny crap kept even dumb audiences saying sh!t!" (Halloween Horror Nights joke)
  21. I got a check for $250 from my parents, which I will use to pay for most of my plane ticket to Texas this summer for the TPR trip. My sister got me a Best Buy gift certificate which I will probably use to go get The Dark Knight.
  22. No, it's definitely Iron Wolf. From Wikipedia: I work with summer camps and when activities get rained out we sometimes get stuck inside watching movies, I watched that movie probably 3-4 times this summer and I am positive that it's Iron Wolf.
  23. Judging by the working model set up at the front of the park, this thing should give somewhere around -10 g's, haha. Although in all seriousness, I would doubt that Diamondback will have any forceful negative g's if the other B&M hypers are any indication. I'm sure it will be a really fun ride, but I would be surprised if there is any serious intensity going over those hills.
  24. I would actually put it the other way around. Wet n' Wild is the first major waterpark in the United States and considered to be the first true modern waterpark. I don't think a lot of people think about the park that way, but Wet 'n Wild opened in 1977, two years before Schlitterbahn. Blizzard Beach didn't really do anything innovative, they just built a really long group slide and a really tall body slide. Blizzard Beach certainly has better theming as well as Summit Plummit, but Wet 'n Wild is the park that laid the groundwork for parks like Blizzard Beach to exist.
  25. This is really sad, I've been on that slide and I never could have imagined this happening. The aquariums at that resort are all pretty amazing and really well maintained, it's a shame that this incident occurred.
