  1. It goes the wrong direction too
  2. I've never been to Dorney, but Hersheypark is awesome and there are a LOT of attractions there and killer coasters, then there's all of the chocolate
  3. I dont think this has been posted yet. (has sound) http://vadercoaster.ytmnd.com/ I think I recognize that coaster
  4. woohoo! Go Gators!
  5. there are usually signs for single riders, or if you don't see one, just ask an employee standing at the front of the attraction and they'll tell you where to go.
  6. that's funny because most of the people Ive talked to tihink the Mummy is right up there with Spidey as far as thrills and the overall experience. I only have 1 problem with the Mummy, it's too short
  7. Are you sure that's the whole thing or just the first "drop" as far as max height? In pics it looks like the loops are much taller than the launch/zero g-roll which I think the 110ft height comes in
  8. Yeah, Disney's seagulls are also a well known gang. I've seen them sit and wait for their victim to get a tray of food they just paid for at an outside stand, then as soon as they turn around, they ATTACK! Swooping down, knocking the tray over and spilling the goods for them to eat....viscious creatures they are
  9. BGT has more coasters, and they are all good quality, with Sheikra being new that IOA doesn't have an answer for, but the rest of the coasters, IOA's got them matched IMO. For an overall experience and awesome non-coaster thrills and attractions that is unlike any other park, go to IOA, you won't regret it. I live closer to BGT, but I'd probably spend most of my time at IOA if I was able to get there more easily from Tampa (I-4 sucks major....)
  10. Lucas said the new Star Wars TV show is supposed to be between Ep III and IV
  11. Not a lot of people aret comiting suicide because they are fat. Most people are commiting suicide because (probly): Money Stress Family Being gay Obesity Those are probly some of the more major causes. Although obeseity is the 2nd of the chart of death in Americans, it doesn't include suicide. Umm, obesity=being fat...ok, really fat, but fat nonetheless. Hey Robb, what was your dieting secret? You're not half the man you used to be (at least in pics)
  12. I was just thinking about the early 90's and what a lot of things people thought were going to be the "future" of theme parks. They included flight simulators (tons of them) and this new thing which was going to revolutionize everything called "Virtual Reality". I remember the first time I strapped on a 20 lb. helmet with TV screens and tried to fight a "man" made of big blocks with one trigger and trying to keep my head at least upright, not to mention moving back and forth. After flight sims enjoyed a few years of being in the spotlight, now it seems that a lot of people don't enjoy riding them. The smaller mall type areas where the cheap ones used to be, no longer have any that Ive seen. In some ways this is understandable as in most cases, the ride itself didn't change much from one to the next. VR is still around a bit, in places like Disney Quest, but it never became anything special, to theme parks or much of anything else. We now have hybrids in theme parks, such as Spiderman and Curse of DarKastle. Do you think we'll be seeing a lot more of these attractions? Next we have the secretive C.A.V.E. technology, military tech widely rumored to be in development for some Disney attraction far away. This has a lot of promise IMO, and again, Disney Quest has an early version of this in their Pirates attraction. It's similar to VR in that it senses where you're head moves, but you have more standard 3D glasses. The environment can practially be only 4 walls with screens, but to the people using them, it seems like it's as endless as the pictures they are seeing. So what else might be in the future for theme park rides? I think interactivity is good, like in shooter rides, but I don't know how much the average tourist will want to think for themselves honestly. Thoughts?
  13. A friend of mine had a Polystation 1 and he's the cheapest person I know (and he knows too, as he jokes about it all the time) It's hilarious listening to him tell me how bad the "console" is. Can you buy one on food stamps? lol
  14. I've been to water parks twice in my lifetime and neither has been a good experience. I don't like those rides because it's not as controlled as standard rides. IMO there are too many variables to know what can happen. The first time I went, it was at Wet n wild and I saw a few different kids who were hurt going on those slides, and I went on one, water was so far up my nose I couldn't even breath well for a few mins, just kept coughing. So, no, I don't like water parks that much, except to go to lazy river and check out the girls in bikinis
  15. Funny, I was next to Old Town during Charlie last year, trying to escape it from Tampa!! 3 stories of bricks came down on 12 cars behind the building we were in!! Luckily no one was hurt. As for this season, it's my UNscientific idea that El Nino affected the jet stream enough to send a lot of hurricanes into Florida. Usually the jet streams send them around the state.
  16. Actually they go to the park in one episode. The funniest part is when they go on a ride like "it's a small world" and Bart dares Lisa to drink the water, she does and then she gets a really "bad trip"
  17. That one might be a little harder to come by. They typically don't tear down or retrofit B&Ms. 2 words: Drachen Fyre
  18. that is funny. That gives me another idea. They should sell t-shirts with what looks like a horsecollar on it. Maybe a new TPR shirt?
  19. Oh no, I hated that movie "Rollercoaster". The idea of people blowing up our favorite rides? nooo
  20. The second drop is into a hole a bit...anyway Screamscape's review makes it sound awesome. I'll probably go in 2 weeks to try it out
  21. I just come here because Elissa's here
  22. BGT is in the middle of the ghetto. You don't wanna stay anywhere near it. I stayed at the Hard Rock last time I was down there. As for your mother, there really isn't much to the park besides it's coasters. All the other attractions are pretty crappy. Seeing as I'm not a coaster person, I don't intend to go back anytime soon. You might as well try BGT since you've been to UO so much. But don't actually expect it to even be anywhere near UO's league or you'll be disappointed. Do you mean other rides or other "attractions"? They have a few other decent rides there, 2 flume rides, river rapids, wild mouse, phoenix, and a few other carnival style rides. The rest is basically a zoo with beer and an african theme and IMO it isn't bad at all. No you won't see theming like IOA, but it's themed enough to get the idea that you're not just in an amusement park/zoo
  23. Since you've been to IOA a lot already I would reccomend going to BGT, they do have some great coasters there, and now Sheikra is nearly open. They do have good food there, I reccomend the Crown Colony house restuaurant (3rd floor sit-down place), plenty of good food and you can get a "Family style" lunch/dinner with fried chicken (best I've EVER had) and all you can eat potatoes/fries, vegetables, bread, stuffing and more. It's very good and not too expensive at all. It also has a great seating area overlooking the animal reserve and you can get a good view of Montu running also
