  1. ^ I agree, their restaurant was the lick! Here's some pix of the original Nut Tree, used to LOVE that tacky total retro 60's decorum of the restaurant!: http://www.nuttreeusa.com/timeline.html
  2. If you zoom in a bit, the huge parking lot next to the left of the youth soccer field in the below link is PGA's overflow lot, which PGA rarely needs or uses: http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=47.349227,74.794922&q=paramounts+great+america&ie=UTF8&ll=37.398801,-121.971824&spn=0.011677,0.01826&t=h&om=1 The City's been trying for decades to build a stadium there, just haven't had any luck suckering us locals into flipping the bill for it.
  3. Not a big park, but since not much happens up here, big news for us!: http://www.nuttreeusa.com/subfamilypark.html Here's info on the rides: http://www.nuttreeusa.com/rides.html RCDB: http://www.rcdb.com/pd1466.htm Being a Miler, will absolutely have some radical airtime and laterals (ex: SCBB's Sea Serpent). The RCDB link has a blurb about the history of the original Nut Tree, was a nice little roadside stop/traditional park back in the day. Even though this new park won't be nearly as spread out as the original, nice that they included a new small park in their plans as a homage to the original. I know I'll definitely be checking it out and credit whoring when it all opens!
  4. If yer hard up for credits, there's also Funderwoods in Lodi, just outside of Stockton: http://www.rcdb.com/ig395.htm
  5. Does have one claim to fame, home to the very first amusement ride ever built by Arrow Development, the merry go round built for the City of San Jose: http://www.hhpz.org/hh-park/play/play.php Which we all know led to Arrow's contract with Walt's then new innovative themed park, the rest is history! If you're into Pixies, there's also Pixieland in Concord, one of the better cared for kiddie parks with a coaster whore credit!: http://www.pixieland.com/ Still no where near worth the $110.00 per person for a season pass they're charging for this place!!!
  6. Not really, Frenso itself for the most part it just one big ghetto. That park is a great representation of the ghettofab that is Fresno! Yeap, the ghetto extends North to include San Jose and South to Bakersfeild Oh I totally agree! Great TR btw, I should do a similiar one of Happy Hollow, our version of Rotary Playland, although I think RP just may have them beat.

  8. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sam-seder/explained-the-gop-obsess_b_21938.html More fuel for the "Me thinks thou dost protest too much" theory.
  9. First thing I thought too, looks absolutely like BDK's layout: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1549.htm
  10. Yeah, little by little CF is strip-mining KBF too. Can only wonder how much longer till they feel Ghost Town has "no historical value" and pave it all over for a food court or something. I know it's progress, but I don't get why CF feels their parks don't need any charm, uniqueness or history. Retaining some of the park's originality can coexist with progess (see DL).
  11. Here's a few slivers of hope: http://www.dailynews.com/santaclarita/ci_3973919 And: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/060623/six_flags_parks.html?.v=1
  12. The Top Gun accident is a great example, felt SO bad for the poor woman that had to endure riding an invert that pulls 4Gs in it's helix finale with a broken leg! OUCH!!! http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1999-26.html I agree the dum$% got what he deserved, it's the one that kicked him that got jacked. And in the end, regardless of what precautions the park took, they got sued by both parties anyways. Unfortunately parks do need to do whatever they can to protect themselves and their guest from the truly stupid, anything at all they can do to reduce their odds should be done to reduce their liability.
  13. Thanks Robb and Elissa for everything, such a great event and great time! Tatsu is nothing short of astounding!
  14. ^ Do your friends happen to know if Deja Vu will be open for us on Thurs? Love the arse kicking first drop, but have only been on it twice since it's always closed when I visit. More than happy with Tatsu, but a few spins on DV while I'm down there would also be sweet!
  15. I have some Granola bars I can bring as well. They are healthier than dognuts anyway, good suggestion. Yeah, I'll take a granola bar over DOGNUTS anyday, mkthanks! And another big thank you Robb and Elissa for doing all this for us, really appreciate everything and all your hard work, should be one incredible event!
  16. Yeah, people talking crap about you is really not a major issue in the big scheme of things. If everyone ran around picking fights simply over what someone else said about them, we'd all be spending all our time beating the crap outta each other. As far as sticking up for yourself goes, you just have to learn to choose your battles wisely. Sounds like you haven't, fighting over anything and everything will earn you that nickname you have. Personally, I could give a crap what anyone says or thinks about me. I'm a great guy, if they don't like me, they're the ones with the f'ing problem. And 9 times out of ten, no one else cares what losers like them say or think anyways, so you're really just getting yourself bent outta shape for nothing. Bullies feed off of getting a reaction from their actions, guarantee if you just pay them no mind and treat them like they don't even exist, not even acknowledge them, they'll loose interest and move onto someone else who'll provide them with the reaction they're looking for. I'd also report either just that kid or the teacher as well about personal confidential information being left out in the open available to anyone. Confidential information such as phone numbers should not be accessible to anyone except for school officials or others that require this information for their jobs. There are some serious ramifications that could be brought up against that school for simply allowing this to happen. I know that at my job, if I allowed confidential information to be left out accessable to anyone, I would probably be fired. So I highly suggest someone be notified about this situation before it escalates even further.
  17. Thanks for the update Sean, nice pix and the POV video was very cool! The motion of Congo Queen reminds me of mild Taz for the kiddies, still look forward to checking it out. I also hope they add more landscaping, doesn't really look too much like a "Jungleland", way too open, needs way more trees and shade. Did they end up including the Lorikeet Encounter in the new area? Hope so, was a great interactive family attraction that should've been included. And great to hear they're finally removing Zonga, will be interesting to see where in the world it'll end up since it was up for sale to anyone. Now they just need to rip out Kong to clear space for the bottom out of the first drop that'll plunge down from the above hillside, zoom over/around Medusa, and use Zonga's old space for the helix turnaround before bunny hopping back and up to the hilltop station.
  18. Very well said! Younger generations forget that the rights and protections some take for granted today weren't always there, and weren't just given because of passivity, content and hiding quietly in the closet. Just because those rights exist today doesn't guarantee an ignorantly run society won't rip those rights out from right under you at any given time as they see fit. Now this is where you're missing the whole point. Although it is 2006, Gays are far from being accepted and "granted admission" in this bible thumping homophobic society. We've never been, and I can assure you will never be in my lifetime. As far as the separating and excluding, you can thank all the religious right wing fanatics for that division. Ask yourself who really are the ones passing laws and having constitutions amended to separate and deny a certain segment of society equal rights and protections, all because of nothing more than a personal belief. For us to just all stand by silently and invisibly as you'd like and let them continue to spread their ignorance and hatred about who and what I am to further their agenda, to me that would be equivalent to genocide (something more than one religious leader has wished upon us).
  19. Yaaa for the Gay Bay!
  20. Yaaaa! Let's hear it for coasterbears/cubs!!! http://www.coasterbears.org/
  21. ^ See, now that takes more courage than most people can imagine, to be open and true in such a situation. At your age I was so afraid I'd get the sh#%@ kicked out of me, I didn't even dare look at another guy "that way". Or some people would be so afraid their parents would wig out and send them off to some brainwashing reprogram. Would have never been brave enough to do anything like that, way to go guy!
  22. That's why I like our Gay Days out here on the West Coast, almost all are private events where we have the whole park to ourselves! . Gay Day at Water World in Concord is pretty wild!
  23. Well said Jeff! It's very important to stress here that being Gay does not instantly equate being a horrible person that will burn for all eternity. Just as being straight and/or religious does not instantly equate being a good person. There are so many influences out there that bombard you with these messages because religious fanatics teach that it's perfectly ok to hate and discriminate against anyone that isn't the same or doesn't believe the same as they do. And it goes far beyond just their hatred of Gays, history has shown that the most horrible, cruel, hateful, mean spirited, cold hearted acts against mankind have been carried out in the name of religion against those who were different. So don’t even allow these people to make you feel less of a person or that you're a bad person for being Gay. As long as you are a good person and live a good life, in the end that's all that matters, regardless of who you love. And there's been many before you Jeff that have "imagined" how much better off this world would be without religion: http://www.leoslyrics.com/listlyrics.php?hid=9%2F5KDzX7Hzw%3D
  24. ^ Even that is too good for him. I say douse him with lighter fluid and light the SOB on fire. Then stand around and do nothing like he did and watch while he screams and burns to his death since he thinks something so horribly cruel and inhumane is so much fun
