  1. ^So the formula is accurate. I don't see what's wrong with anything but the dispatch time, because if it is 7 minutes, the pph will be substantially lower. Also keep in mind that this is a theoretical formula to have an idea of average capacity under certain conditions. So duration includes ride time, loading time, and dispatch time? Because when I say loading time, I mean the time it takes for a full train to load and leave the station. Could you clarify a little more?
  2. and running with Lola! Official Entry #2 Official Entry #1
  3. Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\[your Windows username]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\Options.txt Write: AttractionSceneryAllowTerrainIntersect 1 AttractionSceneryAllowSceneryIntersect 1 TrackAllowSameTrackIntersect 1 This will turn off collision detection.
  4. ^But if you do it that way, make sure you have people per second instead of people per minute which my formula gets. (Take the people per minute [capacity divided by duration divided by 60])
  5. No Problem - it took a lot of thinking, so I'm glad it's being put to good use.
  6. The only way you can put them outside the park's boundaries is if you create a custom scenario (what most people do with their parks).
  7. This is the most accurate equation I can think of to estimate a roller coaster's capacity per hour. Enjoy! Let... P = Persons Per Hour C = Train Capacity D = Ride Duration (Include loading time) (Change the time to a decimal [ex. 2:30 = 2.5 ; 2 1/2 minutes = 2.5 minutes - see below for more minutes to decimal conversions]) T = Number of Trains Equation: P = (C / D • 60)(T) So, if I had a roller coaster that seated 36 people per train in 3 different trains and had a duration of 2:30 and an average loading time of 1:00, I would figure it out like so: P = (36 / 3.5 • 60)(3) I end up with about 1851 persons per hour. Time to Decimal Conversion for Duration Divide the number of seconds by 60. Round to the nearest hundredth (0.00)
  8. New record high today... 78* in the middle of March wtf?
  9. Installed Windows Vista.. NL Editor runs like endsville with it - entry for me is a no go.
  10. A plane ticket to florida, or a day with no lines?
  11. I upgraded to vista and RCT3 works fine... I haven't tried billboards in a while, but I'll check and let you know if mine works later. EDIT: RCT3 looks for My Pictures, part of my documents. However, in Vista, there are seperate folders (My Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc.) My advice is to try making a folder in Documents called "My Pictures" and put your billboard photos in there.
  12. Good for him! Maybe this will lead to some good Roller Coaster Tycoon games in the future... like the original RCT.
  13. Path doesn't count as part of the ride.
  14. I think TPR is bad for my social skills. Bye guys!
  15. Here we go! Hopefully this example can clear things up for you. I whipped this up in 30 minutes, so hopefully you will put more detail into it. Themed Ghost Ride Contest Example.dat Here's the park file! As you can see once again, the ride takes up 6 tiles by 6 tiles. You don't necessarily need to put the ride in a building. Multi-level layouts are much more interesting than flat ones. Remember to add detail! The ride is inside the building. As you can see, it takes up 6 tiles x 6 tiles.
  16. Great! I'm going to work on a ghost ride so you guys can have an example as you continue the contest. Expect to see it by the end of this weekend.
  17. I'm going to change the size restrictions - the entire track must be contained in a 6 tile x 6 tile area. However, the terrain, scenery, entrance/exit, queue can be outside of the 6x6 tile area. 6x6 means 6 across, 6 down, and all those inbetween! □□□□□□ □□□□□□ □□□□□□ □□□□□□ □□□□□□ □□□□□□ Just like that. □=one tile I think three weeks is enough time - just because it isn't march 17 yet doesn't mean you can't post/work on your track! 18. Great support work, Faceman! You really incorporated the coaster into the terrain. I'd love to see more shots.
  19. It's lacking flavor... where are the native american animatronics being pushed out of their land by the brits? Nice parking lot and theming so far.
  20. Limewire is illegal.
  21. boothy's right - I was actually GLAD to have a fire drill today at school! But of course, if I hadn't said no to going to Florida, I'd be riding SheiKra... right. now.
  22. Kristen looks like a Chinese baby in that picture.
  23. I did what?
  24. The only good thing about WSF is the cream puffs... other than that, I could take it or leave it. Simply said, I'd rather be living on Sanibel Island.
