Photo TR: Drayton Manor (Page 19)

This is one of those parks I really want to make it to eventually....The picture look great and the coasters seem great even though they arent the tallest and fastest(which usually isnt better). -
So I finally made it to Dollywood after wanting to go for so long. I headed there with my boyfriend (Alilstronger) who thank god loves theme parks as much as I do. Plus we both belonged to this site which was pretty funny because I rarely meet anyone who is into it as much as I am. We headed out from Baltimore at around 12am Friday morning and drove straight to TN so we arrived around 8:30ish, then headed right to the park. On a side note, we didn’t realize there was soooooo much to do in Pigeon Forge besides Dollywood. These pictures were taken with my camera phone since I forgot my camera at home! Just a few notes -Tennessee Tornado was a great Arrow Looper IMO -Most of the coaster were closed Friday -Mystery Mine ride was down Friday to Sunday but we got a complimentary ticket for Monday and it finally opened at around 1-ish and it didn’t disappoint! -Thunderhead was GREAT especially in the back.Top 3 wooden coaster for me! -The Cinnamon Bread as SOOOOOO good! -Dollywood Splash Country was better then I expected -Mountain Slidewinder was AWESOME! -The park was BEAUTIFUL -The bumper cars were pointless to me...lol Leaving finally! 12am Some random gas station I think in Virginia! Getting closer! On the tram heading to the park! The sign was exciting! But getting up there and finding out that Thunderhead and Mystery Mine were closed was not a good start Closed all 4 days BEAUTIFUL! YUM! Inline for Thunderhead! AWESOME wooden coaster, we both really loved it! This was pretty fun to do! I loved that they have "different" types of rides! I'm not a "big fan" of spinning rides but I actually liked this one Was looking forward to this also! SO GOOD.....YUM! Haha....note taken Credit or not? lol Theming was great thoughout the park! I let him infront of me so he could have the "pink" one...lol Spinning ride....but it was fun for a bit until I started getting dizzy! Mystery Mine opened finally! Heading to Dollywood Splash Country Rented one of those canopies.... I was excited to go on the Butterfly the most...LMAO These slides expecially the green ones were really fast, the middle one I lifted off at one point Never been on this type of slide before but was great! I admit I was a bit nervous. Heading home An end to an AMAZING vacation!

California Proposition 8 Overturned!

^^ I was fuming when I heard this on the way back from vacation.....I'm so over people treating gays like second class citizens! -
California Proposition 8 Overturned!
deguy123 replied to NorCalAndrew's topic in Random, Random, Random
I was extremely happy that this was overturned (and even happier I was able to find out with my Boyfriend), it shows that it is going in the right direction. Marriage has nothing to do with religion unless you want it to be. Telling someone they can't get married when they pay taxes among other things just as equal as everyone else is calling them second class citizens. I'm hoping this is also overturned in Maine eventually too, as I got really involved in trying for them to not take away same sex marriages. -

The flyer on this trip explains when everything is due and when you are not able to get a refund. It's on the first page of this thread. Can't wait either -

All I'm saying is that "IF" Comet is taken out, they better announce it so people are able to get last rides on it. I would be really suprised if they just took it out without a big event to begin with, but you never know when it comes to money. -

Your so nice to add on the extra stuff I'm really hoping I can finally do a TPR trip since I won't need airfare! Plus my BF wants to do this trip also with me since I was always "shy" about going on one alone! -

^ I completely agree.....there have really been no lines for it each summer I go in June. I'm heading there on the 23rd and 24th....so I'll definately be riding it a few more times incase it's not there the following year. -

I really hope this is not true.....SDL is a great ride for kids to ride before the big coasters. First CRR now maybe SDL, Hersheypark is starting to disappoint me....lol -
I was thinking the same thing, Comet Hollow is overcrowded as it is. IMO if they put another station or coaster in that area, the area will lose its "feel". Back by the Kissing Tower and that surrounding area would be a good place to put a new ride, the last ride in that area was Great Bears station.

Does your home park lose its luster?
deguy123 replied to jamesdillaman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd say Great Adventure is the my homepark but Hershey/Dorney are pretty close also. GA just has lost it's luster for me because I feel it's a great park but just a great park with Coasters and Kiddie Rides. I usually go to to Hersheypark instead because I just like the overall experience at Hersheypark. Hersheypark just disappointment me for the first time though taking out the Canyon River Rapids......but its still a great park IMO. -

The restaurants always seem to be crowded but we always go to the place down by Trailblazer....they have the best roast beef sandwiches. There is always a place to sit, plus it's relaxing down in that area. -
Wow I'm glad those two are ok, could have been alot worse. People saying they were freaking out need to remember they might not be coaster crazy like us. Also stuff flying in your face then the seat movement probably didn't help matters.(Also they were both looking down the leg area so who knows what dammage was down there) I know If I was on the ride and my daughter had that happen, I'd want to get her off right away.

I agree that the Dumbo thing is a great idea, when I visited in 2008 that was the longest line on the whole trip. When we were in line it's aggravating because we pretty much walked on huge rides but had to wait for a ride that just spins. So I see why they are doing this..... The whole plan looks amazing but my daugther will be alot older (12) once it opens Can't wait to go in 2010 again.....
