  1. The new kiosks in Colossus County Fair and in Movie District are both outdoor merchandise locations. Both locations are selling merchandise which can be purchase at the near by stores: Guest Necessity Center and Attitudes. I am a bit disappointed that they are not Info Kiosks with Ride Time lists, show times, and other park information. I believe this would be a much better use of the space, and location.
  2. Yes, all employees are human, that is why I personally have no problem with water. Water = hydration = alertness. However, soda does not hydrate you, is not essental to job fuction, and therefore should remain backstage/on breaks. Watches tell time. I don't mind the glance at the phone, for time. It is the complete taking the cell phone out of the pocket, flipping it open to check for text messages, scrolling through the list, typing at 100 words per minute, flipping the phone shut and stuffing it back in the pocket. That goes for people at pannel, checking restraints, on break while in guest view, or walking through the park to get to a location. Reasoning: when employees are in front of guests, even on break, there resonsibility is to be approachable, so guests feel comfortable going up to the employee to ask questions. And they should even be looking around to see if anybody is lost, or needs help reading a map/taking pictures etc. 1. Safety 2. Focus on Guests 3. Job Function . . 3953. Using cell phones in front of guests 3954. Drinking soda
  3. The harnesses look a bit snug. Did it look like people with larger waist lines or big shoulders going to fit easily?
  4. Is has been pretty consistantly open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. But now since spring break is over, middle of the week is almost a guarenteed no.
  5. Interesting.... Removing and replacing the same peice of track daily? Or behind schedule so increaing working hours?
  6. (I am in no way referring to you as a guest not "understanding". I mean the general public.)
  7. Riddler's Mystery solved: Vallied before first break zone behind Batman Action Theater. They added water dummies to the seats, then dragged it up to the break zone. It was back up by Friday. The weather was indeed terrible. What the guests have a hard time understanding is that the rides are not safe/can't operate with the very, very high winds that we had on thursday. The last thing a park wants to do is shut down rides.
  8. A short update for Friday the 13th. A Listerine infiltration, Festival Latino, new signs, and more *yuck* employees. Enjoy. This picture...um, well..... Despite all the weird things, it was a great day at the park. It was pleasantly crowded, but I had the chance to ride the smaller coasters and some flat rides. Drinking in front of guests faces. You know, I'd understand if it was water, and it was a hot day, but neither was the case. And this fun employee with her shirt untucked, and drinking soda, spilling it all over the midway. This fun employee on the phone... ...what else is new? New baby geese. At least the midways were VERY clean today! See... Festival Latino tomorrow. New Listerine sponsorship. I saw at least 4 signs or banners up in the park. "Billboard Mountain"? New wait time signs at some of the rides. New kiosks in Colossus County Fair. (Also one by Waterfront in Movie District.) I am assuming (and REALLY hoping they are info kiosks!) Coldstone still to come. (Coldstone and Johnny Rockets is now listed on the park map, with no mention of "comming soon", so I have seen people disappointed when they get to the locations to see the "comming soon" signs. We'll start w/ new things: Here we see the new construction at Chicken Plantation for the soon to open "Justice League Feast".
  9. When I walked the park today, Baja Ridge and Gotham City were the same as normal. Six Flags Plaza, Goliath Plaza, and Colossus County Fair were all the new music. (These 3 areas I believe, are connected in Park Sound.)
  10. SFMM has officially done away with the old atmosphere "area" music in the park, and has switched to more "contemporary", recognizable songs. (Gotham City Backlot has remained untouched.)
  11. Elissa, were you there on Sunday? Did you run into any of the stilt walkers? (Not literally...)
  12. It is um....well interesting to say the least. SFMM comes up with some pretty random things, but I think this one really takes the cake. The actual name of that...contraption is "C.O.W.A. - BUNGA" Can Of Whoop A$$. As mentioned before the whole focus of the year is to bring entertainment out of the theaters and onto the midways. It makes a few stops in the park, playing "Dancing in the Street", bringing people over to the can to dance, and play with a few noise makers for the kids. At a few stops it blows confetti, along with the big random wind socks. C.O.W.A.
  13. ^^The Ring Master is in the Center Ring Games area of the park which is in Colossus County Fair.
  14. Not to steal Jahan's thunder, but here are a few more pictures of new entertainment offerings. Spontaineous Fun: A float w/ confetti, 4 wind socks, and music/dancing that travels around the park, does a show stop involving kids and anyone willing to dance. Stilt Walkers: Atmosphere characters designed for specific areas of the park. The Ring Master The Ring Master The Ring Master The Jester The Jester The Ballgown Doll The Ballgown Doll Spontainious Fun. Spontainious Fun.
  15. ^ How intimidating do you think it was for guests yesterday when they walked around a corner and saw 12 people about 8 feet tall walking toward them at night in one group?
  16. The purpose of the stilt walkers is to bring the entertainment to the guests. Instead of having a large scale show in Magic Moments Theater such as the Chinese Acrobats, or Hot Ice, they will present a Mad Scientist Show for the whole family. Instead of guests having to go into the theaters with their own free will, we are bringing the show to the guests. Each stilt walker will have their own very unique, almost cirque-like costume. There will be "The Ringmaster" in Center Ring Games, an Aztec in Pirates Cove, Walking trees later on in High Sierra Territory, a Salsa Stilt Dancer in Baja Ridge, and a Ball Gown Masquerade Mistress in Movie District. When Memorial Day Weekend rolls around, they will also add a bird, a peacock, a beatle, and a few more. Not all of them are meant to talk, but purley to have a unique photo op for guests. You must agree it is pretty different for SFMM. The guests reaction was mostly: "Woah, how high is that." , "That's really cool.", "Is that hard to do?", "Where can I buy those."....... It will be interesting to see if there is a change in the reaction when costume and make up is added.
  17. Update on new entertainment offering, and other stuff: New stilt walking characters will appear in high traffic areas in the park on weekends until summer, when they will be in the park every day. Here are some pictures of the in park rehersals today without make up and costumes. The stilt walkers may be in costume and make up tomorrow in the park between 7pm and 10pm. First day is this Saturday. If you see any of them...um please take some pictures and post them...uh, thanks! Toward the bottom is the new Wii station in Psyclone Bay. Enjoy! End of the afternoon parade. A display case for Six Flags Kids in High Sierra Territory. Spring Break out from last weekend. Skateboard competition outside of Gotham City Backlot. Inside the Wii Station New Wii Station in Psyclone Bay. (Not a restroom.)
  18. ^^The sign is backwards on purpose. You are in the backlot, so if you were to enter through that gate, you would be entering the backlot. Same at DCA, when you do enter the backlot. If you look more carefully, you can see that the sign was also moved up the poles on both sides. That was in 1995 when the nighttime parade started. The floats would not pass under the sign without it being raised.
  19. Absolutly report it, if you have a chance to get a description, it is much easier to follow up on. If they had a large stuffed animal, remember their ethnicity, color shirts, # of people. Theme parks don't stand for people who break the rules. That would be automatic dismissal from the park.
  20. Opening Ceremony restarts today, the Warner Brothers Kids Club Show goes back to being a "water" show. The afternoon and night parades start back up. They added "Coming Soon" banners outside of Carousel Grill for Johnny Rockets, and outside of the old Buongusto for Cold Stone. Log Jammer was being tested friday evening and should reopen today. You will start seeing the confetti cannons from the parade all over the park again, and you may notice many new power outlets in planters, these will be for new parade/ "atmoshpere" lighting.
  21. ^^I can confirm the new name tags. It will either say your dept. name or a second language, if you can speak one. I told that employee once today to get off the cell, but now hard proof...and he has long hair (might be religious though).
  22. I have no pictures to back it up, however as of 12:45 this afternoon, Psyclone is no longer standing. All that was left was a bit of the transfer track house and the queue house/station. It is a pretty bare skyline next to deja vu.
  23. What is even worse is when you have the youngest cheerleaders. I mean the 12 to 4 year old girls. Not only do the kids think they are the best thing on earth, the parents tell the girls they are the best things on earth. Pick a different weekend to come. There are cheer events both this Saturday and Sunday. Hey, try March 11th!
  24. I will pass on the message to Batman, and the powers who be. The parrot photos have been around for about 5 years now, and that picture stick has been out for about 6 months now.
  25. Batman will now be out in Gotham City driving the Tumbler out from the parade gate to where they have the hearst during Fright Fest. It's a nice photo location.
