  1. So the last time I went to the fair, I was a kid. Boy is it a different place when you are older. Is there really a need to have a beer stand every 50 feet? We were able to do and see everything we wanted to in 6 hours. I went with my brother Frank and friends Joe and Jen. We had a great time! Enjoy, William And finally we conclude with the history of the Dunce cap. And what I call the "slice 'em/dice 'em" exhibits. They had every device you could ever imagine glamorized in a decieving way. "You need this mop!" says the surfer dude who "uses this mop every day at home!". Yeah, believeable. So many choices. Frank tries a cow pie. See, cow pies do happen Every preserved food imaginable Let us eat cake! Mmm...week old breads! I didn't know that table setting was an artform... There is more than meets the eye. There were hidden objects in the stitching. Now for the artsy section of the TR. Butt naked incents anyone? We all know the fair is famous for every type of food on a stick, but manaquin on a stick? There is always something new. It was full of sugary goodness! And the 2nd reason for comming to the fair, deep fried Snicker bars! They had a small pirate themed acrobat show, which was slightly entertaining. It was worth seeing. Joe lost. I won! Wahoo! I got my money back plus an extra $1.20! Next up was one of my family traditions. As a joke, my dad always bet $3 on #3 in the 3rd race to Show (3rd place) And of course I say that it tastes like chicken...but doesn't everything? $12.50 One of the reasons for the trip was for the deep fried frog legs. Look what I found! The minerature train area is one of the places I remember as a kid. Which shirt best fits Robb? An Elissa approved event The pig torturing device. The token "Insert your own comment here" picture. Ooh... Forget the veggies kids, eat more meat! "I'll take this one!" In California, we wash our hands before we pet the animals, not after. Yes it does! As a kid, you don't notice all the beer stands, but damn, do they really need a stand every 100 feet? Lets start off with a beer...not! Frank's not even 18... Hill billy Will Welcome to the Fair!
  2. What??? Time for some clarification: There will be a walk-through maze in the lower Log Jammer Queue Line, and is called Warehouse 13. This will be simlar to the Asylum walk-through maze. The $5 does indeed buy you a wristband which gives unlimited access to all 5 mazes. The shows and scare areas will still be available for all guests. However, I highly suggest buying the wristband this year becuase of a few changes and upgrades to a few of the mazes in addition to the new Warehouse 13.
  3. It was a surprise to me too. Apparently, $5 for all FF attractions.
  4. Yes, Log Jammer will still be open during the day and during the actual Fright Fest event. Wether you can see it or not, everything has started to materialize for Fright Fest. The official title of the new walk-through maze is "Warehouse 13". The official title of the new walk-around area is "Toxic Hollow". Remember that these new offerings will be tied into the new event-wide storyline, focusing around the Willoughby Family. See you at Fright Fest!
  5. Yep, I was at the Batman Show. Next time indeed! The private party was held on 9-5-08. The Fright Fest Job Fair was amazingly successful. Over 150 people showed up, and the Entertainment Department was able to be very picky about who they wanted to hire. Heckles and Twitch made an appearance, and the potential new ghouls enjoyed their presence as well as being able to get a feel of each maze or area which had available positions.
  6. At a private party on Friday night, X2 was operational and cycling 2 trains for guests.
  7. You'll have a great time, whatever you decide!
  8. Bwahahah! That's what you think! Heckles and Twitch will just die when they see this post! "Rule the park" Bwahah....haha....uh, ha...... They'll find you! They always find you... Be sure to stop by and say "hi"!
  9. SFMM Fright Fest Update 2008 It's that time of month! No, wait. I mean time of year! October is right around the corner and Magic Mountain has NEW Fright Fest offerings. That's right, I said NEW offerings.! Like always, Magic Mountain tries to deliver the best product with the tight budget they are given. However, the Entertainment Department's approach was much different than it has been in years past. Supervisors were approached earlier than normal and asked to come up with ideas on how to freshen their individual location's offerings as well as the event as a whole. (Any new ideas without changing the budget.) A few great ideas were discussed, and many of them are being put into place this year! From year to year, there seems to only be a small amount of change to the overall event. This year, however, guests may see the most drastic amount of change to the event. First of all, the Fright Fest event for the first time will have a unifying theme. The theme will center around the Willoughby Family, and each maze will have its own tie-in to the Willoughby Story. There will be reading material in the queue of each maze so guests will understand the back-story before experiencing the maze. Mazes- Brutal Planet: Waiting for you, in a town founded by monsters. You’ve been invited to visit, but beware; these sideshow rejects have plans of their own. Step right up and experience a whole new definition of freak. Located in Gotham City Backlot. Deadman's Bog: The dumping ground for Mr. Willoughby’s failed experiments. Some of these twisted creations have returned from beyond. Altered and savage, they wait for any who tread this swampy wasteland. Located in The Movie District. Jokester's Hideout 3D: The Jokester’s gang terrorized city banks and trains before hiding here, away from the police, where the law can’t reach. Are you brave enough to enter this den of clown-dressed criminals? Willoughby's Mansion: The dark heart of Fright Fest. Mr. Willoughby has worked his evil for decades from this haunted home for over 100 years. See where a century of evil got its start. Just be careful YOU aren’t the next experiment. The not yet named new maze in Log Jammer’s Lower Queue Line : Willoughby’s Industries invites you to work in its new waste disposal facility. Just beware, work is mandatory and escape is impossible. This toxic destination leaves no one unchanged. Walk around Areas- The Riot: Cast out from their jobs in a condemned circus, these performers vent their insane rage by running wild over our city streets. Located in Gotham City Backlot. Exile Hill: Banished from their homeland these outcasts have united in their hatred for outsiders. Granted eternal life by Mr. Willoughby, these ghouls have had decades to build their fury. Located on Samurai Summit. Toxic Hollow: The living quarters of the twisted laborers of (The not yet named new maze in Log Jammer’s Lower Queue Line). Driven insane and unable to escape, these tortured souls see everything, and everyone, as prey. Located in Golden Bear Plaza. Families and timid spirits will be directed to travel behind Mooseburger Lodge through Bugs Bunny World. Shows- The Heckles and Twitch Show: Join the Mad Clowns in Gotham City Plaza for 3 different shows throughout the evening as they play host for our nighttime festivities. Kids Scaryoke: Now is your chance be the star of this rockin’ Six Flags Halloween party. Sing, play in our live band or just have fun dancing in our theater. This show is a blast for the young and young at heart. Fright Festivities: Everyone is invited to join in Fright Festivities where kids of all ages can get into the Fright Fest spirit. Each show lucky participants will be chosen to test their speed and skill as they compete in popular Halloween games such as bobbing for apples, the mummy wrap, a kids costume contest and more. Join us at High Sierra stage outside of the Golden Bear Theater. Other Attractions and Offerings - High Sierra Crafts: Daytime Arts and Crafts for kids in High Sierra Territory RIP: Pose with Mr. Willoughby’s personal chauffer in Gotham City Backlot all day long. Are there noises coming from inside RIP’s hearse? Looney Tunes Meet and Greet Locations – Visit your favorite Looney Tunes Characters. This is their favorite time of year to be playful. Each of them has picked out their favorite Halloween costume to wear all month long. Colossus Backwards: Are you brave enough to face a different type of fear? Colossus will run both backwards and forwards during this Halloween season. Ride in the Dark: Are you afraid of the dark? You might be, when you experience some of your favorite coasters in total darkness. Thumper Bumpers: Take a ride on our heart-pounding bumper cars located in the Movie District. Batman Begins Stunt Show: Don't forget to see the Caped Crusader fighting the crime of Gotham City. We hope to see everyone at Fright Fest! (Be sure to stop by the sound booth of the Heckles and Twitch show. I will be Stage Managing the show.) -William
  10. No blood Falls this year. The End. FF update on Monday or Tuesday.
  11. Fright Fest will have a few BRAND NEW offerings this year! Give me about another week to get a full Fright Fest update up.
  12. Is the Batman Movie Soundtrack music a thing of the past in Gotham City Backlot? While walking through the park today, I noticed that things sounded quite a bit different in GCB. The more contemporary songs which can be heard around the park can now be heard in Gotham as well. I find this to be very disappointing. I always felt that GCB was one of the best overall themed areas of the park. With the lack of Batman related music in the area, why bother with music at all? Please put the Gotham back in Gotham City Backlot.
  13. The Batman Show finally had its first "4 show day" today! The excessive heat was an issue the last four weeks. Today was warm but great for shows. I understand when people say that the show is "cheesy" for various reasons, but the show consistantly gets great rounds of appluase after each scene or large stunt. The theater has been filling up much more than it had the last 2 years, and to my surprise there are several people who come back to see every showing...who knew?!
  14. From what I have observed, off-peak times have little to no line at Johnny Rockets. 11:00, 5:00, and after 9:00.
  15. The pandas in that picture are on a merry-go-round....jeesh!
  16. Another vote here for "We are Hiiiiiiigh Up!"
  17. Can you please cite a source for this information. I don't doubt you, I would simply like to know the source. Thanks!
  18. I won't get into too much detail, but yesterday at the after hours employee event, 3 TRAINS WERE RUNNING ON X2! IMHO, 3 trains is no better than 2 trains, but none the less there were 3!
  19. Especially if you are in the back half of the train. IMO
  20. It's the: Just To Rub It In Your Face Some More X2 Campout Trip Report! Because you all already know every awesome detail lets just get to the pictures: For the night ERT, it was funny to see how caught off guard we were. Jennifer and I as well as several others were wearing pajama pants on X2! Although my friend Cassi and I were late checking in, we were excited to get our 1 night ride in! We stopped at Wendy's before hand, not expecting to be wined and dined. Hmmm...X to the y power? I don't think so! The next morning Robb dressed up for breakfast. Fanny pack AND backpack! (Yes it was cold that morning.) Jay welcomes us to an awesome breakfast. Jennifer obsesses over her muffin top.... Neal allows us all to brag to the guests who wait behind the gates. Don't be hatin' Cassi and I get our front row ride. I always wondered how crappy I would look with 3 hours of sleep and getting onto a coaster... After our two rides, this was the queue line. "Yeah dude, we so should have gone to the campout!" Cassi says: "It was well worth it!" It keeps going, and going... Here is the end of the line after the park was open for 10 minutes. "This line seems kinda long for the bathroom, doesn't it?" Thank you the ENTIRE Six Flags Family who worked the event and helped with the Extreme Makeover: Coaster Edition. You are all "Type X"! It was great to meet everyone who went, and awesome to see some of you again!
  21. Coasters that have the onboard audio make the ride more fun, but I feel that X2 has taken this idea to a new level. It isn't just a coaster anymore. It is an entire expericence. I think that SFMM now has a ride comproble to Disney attractions, as far as telling a story. It is the difference between Big Thunder Mountain and Gold Rusher. You are immeresed in the X2 story from the moment you enter the queue line. Even though I have had no direct hand in the transformation, I have never been more proud to be part of the Six Flags family.
  22. Great Photos John! It was nice to meet you, and it sure was a blast!
  23. Tatsu may eat peoples' cell phones, but X2 ate Tatsu! Prepare to be WOWED!
  24. As long as we are talking about X2... Here are some picture of new light on X2's lift: Notice the round white lights, as well as the red LED flat lights up the length of the entire lift.
