  1. Hello all! My first park of the season will be my home park... SFGA. And the first coaster we will run for will be El Toro! Nitro used to be the traditional first coaster when we went there. But since the bull was let loose, it takes top spot for me!
  2. You can feed the turtles too! Just click on the white part of the screen, and the food appears (Little yellow things). They go running for it. LOL. Very cute. I like the tic tac toe game though. Keeps me busy at work when I am waiting for the printer to finish, or when I am stuck on the phone! Big Mike, can't wait for the update!
  3. Maybe they had a few days where they are not ready to put up the remaining lift/drop stuff, and the crane can be used someplace else for those few days or week, whatever. There are zillions of explanations, I definitely am with everyone, hoping it opens before I get there in July, but if not, I would definitley rather it be safer, and done the right way, than to be be done too quickly, leaving room for error. Who's web cam is that now? That is pretty cool. It could also be speculation that the camera was moved for reasons such as mentioned. Maybe they are trying to be fair with both parks? I don't know, I am guessing. I have never seen the whole web cam thing before, nor do I know the reason it was put up.
  4. I haven't been to that many parks, but out of all the ones that I have been to, Chiller definitely stands out! I remember covering my ears as it would go by. My daughter thinks that the Hulk was pretty loud as well.
  5. That was so cool, Ccron10! Thank you so much for sharing your behind the scenes footage with us. I really appreciate it because I do get to go to this park this upcoming year. I always wondered what they did with the cars, etc. Now, I can look at them as I am waiting on the queue, and explain stuff to my kids. It should make the wait on long lines slightly more bearable! I bet that paper will be an A+!
  6. You were very brave sporting your camera on the rapids! Did you do anything to protect it from the possible soakings? Great shots! I probably do not need to even say that anymore though. Because a PTR by Erik = great shots! This is the one park I have not spent any time in. When we went, we didn't even get to spend more than half a day there. My son ended up getting a high fever so we cut that day early. That was the year that EE was being built. If I visit any disney parks while down in July, this will be it. Thanks for posting, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  7. I didn't think the TR was crappy. I rather enjoyed it! Thank you for posting. (With or without capitals!)
  8. Wow... very nice Thunderbolt pics! I actually have one I took from like 1993ish. I wish I took more than just one pic.. I especially love the snow pics. I will post mine when I get the power cord to my eternal. It should be in this week.
  9. Hey it was worth a shot! Of course for fun! I love taking pics, and I will take a zillion anyhow, so I may as well try and make it interesting while there!
  10. Awesome shirt Big Mike! I look forward to seeing your WCB update - and on time! (You know, since I am all caught up with the reading of the 260+ pages!) [/coastertube]
  11. I am proud to announce that I am completely caught up now! It took me Exactly 10 days to read all 260 pages of this most amazing TR! Thank you Big Mike for all your hard work, and I will definitely see you at Coney Island, and Great Adventure in August! edit: HAVE FUN AT WCB!!!!
  12. Erik, most awesome SWO PTR. (Two acronyms in one sentence! Woo hoo! lol) I haven't been there since May 2005. I am definitely psyched about using my D40X at this park, more than any park I will be visiting in July. The colors and theming are amazing! I would definitely say you figured your camera out with the quickness. Your photos are amazing! Me, I have had mine since Dec 2007, and I still stuck on mostly auto features. I am fighting the manual features, but have been trying to take advantage of the shutter priorities for the dark pics. I am slowly learning. Maybe one day I can graduate into the other features. I may beg to differ about your Shamu Kraken pic though. I almost feel that I spy the train going up the lift behind the trees.... I can't blow it up with enough clarity on my pc, maybe you can check it out? edit: I am definitely down for the Kraken challenge, if you want to wait until July that is! (Hopefully I remember!) Any rules?
  13. It is now midnight for me, and I am finished with page 200! (Geez this is taking away from my Facebook time... >={ ) Only 55 more pages to go to be 100% caught up with this thread. (I know there are currently 258 pages, but I have read the last few already with anticipation of the 2009 BMRS!) In any case, just wanted to say I am still enjoying this thing here... somewhat of a phenomenon I'd say! Oh yeah, and I have now included the banner in my signature! (It should be there anyhow) Keep up the awesome work!!! edit: My signature is not showing up despite it being correctly entered under my profile. I am trying to figure out what is wrong...there must be more settings!
  14. OH VERY AWESOME! Well, I am definitely going to try and get to SFGA for 8/15! And Coney Island is a big plus too. Looking forward to getting bruises from the lap bar on the Cyclone with the BMRS! I will try to keep up with the new stuff on top of reading the old stuff now. It's difficult. It's very addicting though! I cannot stop reading every free moment I get!
  15. I am still only up to page 123 (I read for about 4 hours last night!), but I am thouroughly enjoying the thread! I am sorry if this is redundant, but without having to scour through literally hundreds of pages, are you hitting up Great Adventure, Coney Island (is it even going to open?), Hersheypark, or any of the Orlando Universal Flex Pass Plus Parks and when? (Or what page is that on?) I am going to all of them this year, and wanted to see if I could possibly catch up with the BMRS! At this rate, I will be reading forever! I think you post faster than I am reading.
  16. How on Earth did you know that?? Anyway, yes. It's an Olympus Tough 6000. But some of the photos are from Misty's camera, which is a Pentax Optio W10. This was actually my first park with my new camera, and I honestly wasn't very happy with the results. By the end of the trip, though, I had the camera pretty much figured out, and now I'm very happy with it. I'm sure I'll have more trip reports up in the next couple weeks--and those will be better. Ah...Ancient Chinese secret! Actually I saved one of the pics to see because I liked the picture quality. You can just tell the difference, even if you were't at your best yet with it, the quality of camera. I saw the model number and looked it up. LOL. I definitely enjoyed this TR, and look forward to your future reports! Now, when you go on rides, what do you do with your camera? I am scared to bring my good one (Nikon D40X) because I dont want it to get stolen while I am on the rides.
  17. I think that Manta can hold its own for most people. My favorite ride (besides El Toro of course) is S:UF in SFGA. I wait on an average line of about an hour or so just about every time I go. While I do wish Manta was longer, I am sure it will be very awesome. The flying coaster is definitely a fun type of coaster. Although, it really depends on what you like in a coaster. Me, I like loops and twirls. Not too big into the drops. So this is a perfect coaster to me. I am definitely going to have to figure a way to ride, and re-ride this... over and over! How long is Tatsu compared to S:UF, can anyone compare? Maybe there is a reason they are short, like how they said they can only let them go so fast, or can only do certain elements because of what the body can physically handle. Maybe being in that position, there is a limit of how long you should be that way as well? I just hope that Manta does not take on the traits of SFOG's S:UF and there are no sensor issues. SFGA is usually up and running since I have been going to the park from 05... Let's keep our fingers crossed!
  18. Very awesome TR! Thank you for posting. I totally loved the aquarium. It IS huge! You have an Olympus right? I was trying to peg down the model number to check it out. I loved your shots. SFOG reminds me of SFGA. I guess because of the similar rides they have, Nitro (although named differently), Superman, Batman... Would it be worth it for me to ever check this park out? And also GASM - but this one is not the same as ours. I wonder why parks would name rides that are completely different, the same name. Totally baffles me. I would make a pit stop on my drive down to Orlando this year, if I did not have to get there to meet someone within a certain time.
  19. It seems pretty quiet too. I cannot wait to see it with the wall down.
  20. Wow! Great photos! Thanks for posting those. I love looking at older park photos too. It is so cool looking through my parents and family pics, seeing everything as it was when I was a child. A few years ago, I would not have appreciated them as much as I do now. Funny how things change. One day, I want to post a through the years type of thing. I have so many Disney pics from 1980 to now. I need to check if there is a thread for that already though... (probably)
  21. Cool, thanks. I pretty much figured for the weekdays vs. weekends. I am hoping for June so it is warmer. We will be driving, so the distance is no problem. My cousin is about an hour away from BGE. I am just so excited to finally be visiting an area that is new to me.
  22. I have been procrastinating on reading this PTR, because it is just sooooo long. I finally started today, seeing it was inevidable that I would eventually do so anyway. Up to page 18 so far. Must tell you - awesome TR! I haven't laughed so hard in a bit. My family thinks I am nuts sitting by myself just laughing loudly every now and then! I am definitely hooked! Cannot wait for more! But for tonite, on to bed for me.
  23. Yeah, that structure (or structures...) seem massive! I have never seen so much of it. I am so impatient. I cannot wait to see this complete. I am very upset that I am not scheduled to be in the Orlando area for this opening. I may have to just plan an excursion just for HP.
  24. I have been trying to get my son to go on any coaster for about two years now. I have done everything from bribing him $50 per coaster, to pep talks. He has seen this one, and he said, nope. I even showed him how it doesn't go upside down. It seems his main reasoning is the feeling in his stomach from the drops. I really cannot talk much, because I used to be that way. I was a member here actually before ever getting on my first coaster. But once I did, it was all over! I also didn't like the funny feeling in my stomach, but I have learned how to breathe for the drops so I do not feel it strongly. We are going to Orlando in July. I hope he changes his mind! This may be the perfect one for him to ride! I can't wait to try out this element!
  25. A bit late, but that last sky pic is amazing! The rest of your pics were fun to look at as well. And I do not mind the long winded story. I love hearing about everyone elses excursions!
