Double0Kevin replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
My job pays me to work daily. Outside of that, My mom paid me to be her wine tasting DD about 3 months ago. When was the last time you saw something that made you laugh yourself to tears? -
What is your next park?
Double0Kevin replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like Disneyland in late January. -
Working in San Francisco, I cannot stand the Bike community in this city! Why the hell do these friggen hippies think they are above everyone else!? They constantly run red lights, hold up traffic by riding in the center of the street, and they even spit on SUVs as if that person driving were intentionally trying to destroy the planet. It's so bad that people have been killed after being hit by bicyclists flying through red lights. Also, these assholes organize a huge meetup on the last Friday of every month and ride in a hug mass through the streets with the sole purpose of causing traffic and inconveniencing people who drive cars. This is the kind of BS that makes me want to move away from this place and never come back.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
Double0Kevin replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Corona. Can't go wrong with a Corona. -
No Did you receive a theme park related gift for Christmas/which ever holiday you celebrate?

I have never even bothered going near Imperial Palace. Like gisco said, it always seemed like a dump. Why waste my time when there are so much nicer of places to check out? I might check out The Quad when it's all done, just to see how it turned out and ride the Ferris Wheel. Caesars needs some better properties, MGM offers much better options IMO. Caesars only has Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, and Paris that interest me; the rest are just run down and old.

Safari on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. Lately been using Chrome at work, Firefox as back up. Use IE for one thing on my work computer, but otherwise avoid it at all costs.

Do you have a Coaster License Plate?
Double0Kevin replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh no, my respect for you has decreased exponentially . I have no special plate, but I show my SF Giants pride via my plate frame. Haha. -
I think what it comes down to, and this kinds of piggy backs what Robb had said earlier, that SoCal residents feel like having Disneyland is their birthright. It's supposed to be be there for them. People on the east coast are just stoked that they have a Disney park to go to at all, the fact that the resort is huge and has the most parks is just icing on the cake. Like cfc said, it's because of this reason that I try to avoid the single-park fansites more and more. Way too obsessive and self obsessed.

Didn't they start clearing land last year for the new ride? So we basically already know where it's going. Take that for what it is. Also, is that airport still active? Seems odd to have one right there. EDIT - looking at Google maps and seeing all the stuff piled on the runway, I'm going to say it's not in service. Seems like there is no reason to have it anymore and plenty of room to expand. Though I'm not sure, given the location, that all that land could be effectively used and generate revenue. -

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Double0Kevin replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Rain, Rain and some more Rain. Usually I don't mind rain, but this storm opened up a huge pothole in the road that I hit Sunday night... long story short I spent the morning of Christmas Eve buying a new tire... Lame. -
I'm tired of always having the Disneyland Resort shoved down my throat. Average DL fanboy: "Disneyland is the BEST Disney park and YOU should love it. Walt walked through the castle. OUR park is better than YOUR park!" Average WDW fanboy: "I'm just happy to be at a Disney park...ANY Disney park... I love them all (yes, even Paris!)" IMO, that is the biggest difference that I encounter all the time now... That's very true, and that actually articulates what I was trying to say much better. I'm appreciative of what Walt created, but just because he tracked dirt through DL's midget castle doesn't make it superior. The only thing that would really even come close to making DL's castle better is if a kingdom of midgets lived in it... Wait, this could be awesome... But back to the point, The majority of DL Fanboys have acquired this weird god complex like running some fan site (you know the one of which I speak) makes them the definitive word on what is right or wrong. And when they get their way (animatronic hair change) at one resort they suddenly think that one is superior because the other resort laughs it off and spends money on real needs of the resort. Long story short, people need to get laid...

Silverwood Discussion Thread
Double0Kevin replied to Damien666's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, that isn't going to happen. Nor should it. Silverwood isn't the kind of park that should be building giant coasters. I place them into a similar park category as Holiday World, Dollywood, or Silver Dollar City. It's a park that has some great rides but doesn't need break from it's roots and go huge like an SFMM or CP. Sure, they have a GIB, but that was because it was a great deal on a ride like no other in that area of the country (Seriously, Boomerang at SFDK is the closest similar ride). I doubt the park is in a position to invest in something like a giga. -
Maybe it's that I grew up on CGA and SFDK and visits to DL were always the "Special" trips. I definitely would call me a DL Fanboy, it's fine, I am what I am. But I'm a DL Fanboy cause I'm always so impressed with everything Disney does, and DL is the one I can get to more often. I don't sit there and pick apart the hair on an animatronic, because I'm just happy that their rides aren't sitting over a parking lot. And I'm tired of WDW vs. DL. I don't consider either resort as "better" than one of the other, they are just different. WDW puts some things at DL to shame, and vice versa. People can prefer one resort to the other, but they are so different it's hard to compare and call one better. Plus, DL Fanboys that keep bitching about the small stuff are just making the rest of us ashamed to be DL fans, shut up and enjoy what you get. Seriously, what spoiled brat complains about getting through the line faster, but not fast enough?
