If I had an extra $4,000 laying around I would buy an entire front row and ride by myself. Just because I could. -

Not saying he didn't say these things or that it's wrong, but since MOST not all, but most coasters take 2+ years to plan, design, etc. This statement may be a little...twist of the truth. Again, I fell like this applies to things like flats, new shows, and general park cap ex. But the amount of planning and design for a new coaster isn't necessarily budgeted from the previous year. -
RMC single rail coaster at Silverwood?
WolfBobs replied to gbioryl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
... RMC has long said that they want to work with Silverwood on a project but have yet to find the right one. Wouldn't RMC want to work with ANY park willing to PAY them? It is a dollar driven world ya know. -

No, you don't understand. Some of those parks have anniversary years coming up and they've been neglected by the chain. I'll clarify that this is sarcasm because as dumb as my post is there are people that will legitimately say and believe what I just said. I assumed when KD got singing mushrooms for their 40th that the "Anniversary = Coaster" theory would be put to rest... -

CF operates a business and places attractions where they receive the quickest and best ROI. Some parks like Point merit new large additions every 2-3 years because of their attendance, fastlane sales and almost immediate ROI. Remember there are whole departments for the company that research what the parks need. This "everyone deserves a trophy" or in the enthusiasts mindset of "we're due a new coaster" or "CF owes us a new coaster" is simply not how it works. Each park will get one when R&D and corporate decides the time is right. -

Just put the time in. Think about it--worst case scenario, they sell out of Coastermania tickets and you don't get one. #1 rule of traveling: Be flexible. See, that's the thing...... It's more about the actual event to me. Typically we hit the park 15-20 times a year, so it would just be another day in the park and not worth taking a vacation day as they are valuable. There are a couple of other events going on this summer that I would go to if I can't get coastermania tickets, but the trick is choosing a vacation days in time. I would prefer coastermania over some of the other events though. Does your employer not allow you to cancel a vacation day if your plans get canceled? Where I work I can submit the time off and if something comes up and my plans get cancelled I can just let my boss know I no longer need the day. Not a thing where you work? -
Dollywood Discussion Thread

Seeing all the pics being posted is really getting me excited for my first ever trip to Dollywood mid April. I'm sure the ride will be open by then but if not... I don't think I will mind making a second trip. From what I'm seeing I think this park may turn into a every other year treat for me! -
That's what she said! Personally I think this is a solid addition in terms it's something they needed. Could they have placed it elsewhere and gone bigger? Sure, but this is the first woodie in the chain since the disaster Gwazi became so maybe they're being cautious. Some of my favorite woodies are shorter in height and length. Big Dipper at GL and Blue Streak to name two, both under 3,000ft. I'll wait until we see a full layout and how it interacts with Le Scoot and the terrain before judging too much. Of course a full opinion can not be formed until I ride. I still personally, all things aside would have preferred an RMC even with the same stats just because I love topper track so much!

Glad I booked my trip for mid April. Fingers crossed there aren't too many significant delays that prevent it from opening even later then that! -
Favorite attraction never made?

Everything Six Flags teased about the Worlds of Adventure super park. Hyper, walk through animal attractions, etc.. Everything Cedar Fair teased when it bought Geauga Lake back! -

Prices vary depending on the day of the week and the part of the season. The only way for you or anyone to know for sure is to go to Cedar Point's website and basically go through the steps of booking a room. When you put in the dates you are interested in the rates populate. -
Random question. I'll be making my second trip ever to SFMM on March 5th. I was wondering if they are still selling any merch from Holiday in the Park or if there are any specific gift shops I should look in for Christmas ornaments. I decided this year I want to start collecting them from the parks I visit. Thanks!

I used to get slightly dizzy climbing the spiral stairs on Dominator's MCBR back at GL. This would definitely take some getting used to. -

If you're going on a Monday and Tuesday in June I would hold off on a FL+ purchase until at the park and seeing crowd levels. Personally, I feel that FL+ is a waste of money except on Saturdays during Haunt. But I do avoid the park on Saturdays during July and August. The park is generally light during the week in June, most rides, except TTD and Maverick having less then 20 min waits, and rides like Raptor, Rougarou, Gatekeeper, MS, Magnum and a few others are almost always a walk on. -

I'll be honest with you and in any work environment people usually tease and joke around with each other. Even as adults. It's what happens when you're with the same people everyday all summer long. You become more like family then coworkers. I wouldn't take anything personally as long as it seems in jest and good natured. Don't be afraid to make jokes back. These people you'll work with will become life long friends. I'm 32 and I started at Geauga Lake when I was 16, I still talk to old park coworkers everyday. I hang out with them more then old high school and college friends. We still have a Christmas party every year and the park has been closed for almost a decade now. And if anyone bullies or teases you to the point you're uncomfortable that is was your lead, supervisor, manager and finally HR is for. But again, from my experience when you're with the same people all day everyday, even more then your family during the summer, it all is in fun and usually not intended to hurt your feelings. -
My kings island itinerary for 2016
WolfBobs replied to Calvin6670's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The order you have these rides listed in is well.. confusing, most are on opposite ends of the park from each other. You might as well just start in one section and work your way around. You forgot the Beast, which is pretty much a must ride if there ever was one at a park. You also left off Racer and Adventure Express. (Get the credits while you can!) Also, I would recommend not trying to have your day planned out at much as possible. You may be disappointed and stressed. Just relax and enjoy your day and ride as much as possible. KI has a habit of being very busy in the mornings and then at about 6pm calming down with most rides being near walk ons. (if you're there on a week day anyways) -

Most likely the plan was to formally announce at WCO and they are still going with that regardless of any newspaper leak. -

I would love to see Vortex removed for a modern looper, maybe something from Mack. Firehawk will always hold a special place in my heart because I was on the ride's crew in 2001 when it was X-Flight at SFWoA/GL. I take one spin on it every year for nostalgia. Vortex I'll never waste my time on again, even if they announced 2016 was it's last season. -

Doesn't surprise me at all. Ridership seemed very low whenever I was at the park and that's if it was open. Plus the incident. I personally never rode the ride so I won't miss it. I do hope they take this opportunity to bring back a traditional flume ride. It'll be a fun couple months of speculation now as one can assume this will be the location of the next major ride. -

This. I had the same experience during the day and a half I spent at Carowinds last summer (preview night and opening day). However, I lucked out some how and my two rides I got on Fury were in the front row.
