  1. Keep in mind I have yet to ride any B&M (I know I know I'm going to this summer), but I feel that this juxtaposition is why this thread exists: the rides have a reputation for being smooth, but somewhere along the line have developed this issue which seems to ruin that smoothness for some people. It's an interesting issue and I can see why it irks some people; it's like when you're in the car and something suddenly starts rattling, and now you can't concentrate on anything except that and how to get it to stop. I can see why this would be annoying on a coaster that you're trying to enjoy. Still though b&ms are still great and this is not an issue for me. But I don't like when people say they are 100 % smooth cause that's just not true Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  2. Take the hotel entrance near breakers and the cabins (its right next to the stations). I only use that entrance, I don't even know what the front gate entrance looks like
  3. I have been debating this a lot with myself. I think that floater has the potential to be my "favorite" if it is true floater airtime. Behemoth at canadas wonderland has a LOT of airtime hills but the airtime force is BARELY over weightlessness, and its just really not that thrilling for me. But on a ride like maverick there is a CRAZY airtime part but it is so short that its over just like that. I think the balance is El Toro, where there is sustained ejector air that is very intense and thrilling. For me the perfect airtime hill would be long and sustained, and halfway between floater and ejector, so you are being pulled out of your seat but not being smashed into the restraint painfully.
  4. Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland DEFINITELY has some rattle at the bottom of the first drop, on a good day and the bad day. The outer seats are a bit worse as well. I have been on lots of B&Ms and while they are usually smooth there is definitely rattling found on pretty much all rides. Gatekeeper is pretty big rattling, rougarou had a lot, mantis had a bit on some seats (but less than rougarou, much less). Leviathan is probably the only ride with no rattling but its moving so fast that its probably not even noticeable.
  5. I'll begin with the caveat that nobody really "knows" what the lines will be like on any specific day in the future, as we are not prescient here (at least as far as I am aware of! ) However, yes, your assumption should be pretty accurate regarding shorter lines during that week. I've been going to CP most of my life, and virtually every year for the past 20, and the first week or two that CP is open during the week, in May, is definitely the best time to go! Much shorter lines, and generally, the weather isn't too bad either. I'm actually going the Tuesday of that week (17th), and probably again Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of the following week. 20-30 minutes for MF, TTD, and possibly even Maverick, are certainly reasonable, and perhaps even shorter times at non-peak times of the day. That being said, if you run into a 45 minute line for Maverick, even on those days, don't be completely shocked... Enjoy your trip to The Point, and if you have any other trip-related questions, feel free to ask! I've been here 3 times before, during what I would call "peak times" and we still had fun. We ran a "front of the line pass cartel" where my friend was really lucky, we put a ton of money into those plinko games and we sold our excess tickets. We used all our remaining tickets during the last hour we had at the park and we rode maverick 6 times in a row when there was an hour and thirty minute line. The first hour early opening is a godsend, we sprint to maverick and even during a VERY crowded day the lines are zero in the morning. You can also have a lot of fun riding the "off" rides like mean streak and gemini over and over again finding the best seats. Does anyone have experience with how physics days change the crowds? I'll be at the park Friday the 20th of May which is during physics week. I expect a spike in crowds from 11-5ish and then very light crowds? Any thoughts? Not too worried though because i'll be staying on property to get early entry... and it's a day at cedar point! I haven't experienced the physics days, but I doubt it would have much effect on the crowds. The average daily admission for cedar point is like 20k+ people, so even if like 5k students come (many of which might not like thrill rides, and 5k is probably overstating it), you will probably only see a MAXIMUM of like 5 to 10 minutes on most of the major rides. I am booked to go there during that time period and I doubt I will have any problems with the crowdedness. Also, you are correct in that the schools will only really be there from 11 to 5. 9-11 is when I usually get all the rides in (early entry) and then during the night crowds die down too, and schools would unlikely still be there.

  7. Does anyone know what the lines will be like on may on the wednesday the 18th, thursday the 19th in a month from now. We are expecting very low lines considering its a weekday and no schools should be off and the temperature is not 100% optimal for the "family going to cedar point" type trips. Am I correct to expect extremely low lines? I am talking under 20-30 minutes max during midday for TTD, Maverick, MF, etc.
  8. Close to upside down within 10 or 20 degrees. A tilt incline loop like on rougarou would probably be the limit. On both our B&Ms at Canadas Wonderland it is about 10-30 degrees off being sideways, but I don't count it being inverted.
  9. This station looks like it is going to be VERY forceless. Why didn't get get a mack station?
  10. Seeing as Banshee's laterals are essentially nonexistent compared to those on older B&Ms, this doesn't make much sense. Most manufacturers are moving to over-the-head lapbars and vest-style restraints, and B&M is no different. I think the vest style restraints are just BETTER. They are more comfortable, more "free", and you don't have any problems with headbanging. I don't really see it having anything to do with the lateral elements. I think its just moving on from the more classic OTS that are pretty bad sometimes.
  11. I was assigned an economics project for school where I have to assess whether or not the theme park industry in the United States is an oligopoly. If someone could forward me with some contact to people in management in Cedar Fair, Six Flags, or other smaller theme parks that would be great.
  12. I cant believe they stole the nets form Canada's Wonderland. First valravn now this, they snaked us again
  13. Looks like some birds are always crapping on the top. Maybe cedar point genetically created valravn birds
  14. How does one snap, is it just going back and forth perfectly to get this range of motion?
  15. What is the frequency of testing now, I am looking at the livestream and I have been waiting for it to fly by. Is the camera on the immelman or the dive loop?
  16. Sorry if I am not understanding everything but whats with the hype of the Flying Eagles and the enthusiast community? It just looks like a kids ride to me. What is the reason we are so interested in this? Skyhawk looks its gonna be pretty good, at CW we have quite a good flat selection now.
  17. Does anyone have a promo code that I could use? I heard some people had 10% off things. I was thinking of waiting around until more features in the alpha are there before buying it, but it just looks so good I HAVE to get the full alpha (I have it pirated just to test it out).
  18. What the hell is going on with the webcams. One is zoomed in, one is just tilted down. Maybe they are trying to hide something from us???
  19. I think Cedar Point has some more space but I think that they have room for maybe 1 or 2 more rides until they have to make serious cuts or move the gate down the peninsula.
  20. Last summer I didn't get a seasons pass for some reason but I went to Canda's Wonderland like 10 times (I used my friends season pass bring a friend discount but still). This year I am getting a platinum pass, plus a platinum food pass and most likely a souvenir cup. Drinks are too expensive!
  21. Great image! I never heard of this park but the theming and the layout of that B&M invert looks awesome
  22. We are all pretty much making full fledged dark rides and there is 7 months left until the actual game comes out. This game blows RCTW out of the water
  23. Looks like the wall has been extended more. We are getting closer and closer to the entire ride being boxed in by the wall. Hey we should called Trump - The Ride
