Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

You may not like gigas, that's fine, but the GP LOVE Leviathan and Fury, more so than possibly I305 because they are extremely fun, fast, and most importantly, re-ridable. On top of that the parks love them because of how reliable, efficient, and easily marketable they are/were. -

Yeah, I thought laterals with PTCs pretty much destroyed the track -

Let's just face it, KI isn't gonna get a Giga until at least 2018, it's only been 2 years since Banshee, KI is not Cedar Point. Just be happy that we don't have to deal with the crap that other CF properties go through and get relatively big updates every year. -
I only remember 3ish airtime moments on Outlaw, sure they are great but it isn't a floater airtime machine. And with the rides not being long, they really are pretty short, Powder Keg isn't that long, you just spend a lot of time on the ride due to the transfer up to the launch and the lift. I just want a B&M hyper over 5,000 ft of track. Don't get me wrong, I love Outlaw to death but it's over in 30 seconds

Guys, I believe RMC will actually be working on a project in the park, but it won't be Mean Streak, they are just making a T-Rex-Horse-Box Boat -

I converted my dad pretty easily, he's liked them for a while, even riding Magnum opening year so it wasn't that hard. He's getting a little older now (early 50s) so some wooden coasters and practically anything made my Vekoma or Arrow that isn't Magnum is a no-go but nearly everything else is fair game. I've taught him some things about the industry and he can usually identify what manufacturer makes what ride, especially B&M. He definitely has supported me the most in my coaster addiction and always has a blast alongside me. It's honestly become our father-son bonding kinda thing My sister took a little while longer than him just because of the fear aspect at first. The main thing was inversions and launches, so when we went to St. Louis for the first time I was extremely surprised to get her on Mr. Freeze only after riding American Thunder. I don't think she got over her fear faster than when I did. She has actually begged my dad to take us to Cedar Point this summer to ride Dragster, Gatekeeper, and Millie, as well as being "Like, the first person in my school to ride Valravn."

I used to think that you couldn't go wrong with making a ride long... Until I rode Mean Streak. It's just boring. There needs to be substance the entire ride. -

Gemini is one of the oldest Arrow coasters I've ridden and it is easily one of the smoothest from them. Only ones that I have been on that are comparable are the Bat, Adventure Express, and maybe Dahlonega Mine Train. Much better than any looper. -

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia the day after Black Friday, front row. Awesome hyper coaster, lots of positive and negatives. Only thing though is hitting the break run hurt my back every time. Easily my second favorite hyper. Diamondback being top, then Goliath, then Magnum, and finally Extremely-Trimmed Bull.
