  1. Volcano - Front row and back row Flight of Fear - No preference Backlot - No preference I305 - Row 15, Left side Dominator - Front row and back row Rebel Yell - Non-wheel seat Grizzly - No preference
  2. Volcano, Flight of Fear, Backlot, and Delirium are priorities. They have pretty bad capacity (or are new), so get crazy lines. EDIT: I don't know what is going on, but I know: 1.There's a service road that runs between it and I305. This road goes through behind the water park and ends around hurler/grizzly 2.There's a maintenance building EXTREMELY close to this area This area is near a lot of the backstage, so I doubt it's an attraction.
  3. Do you work at kings dominion? Yes, I've been working I305 since 2013.
  4. Fireworks are launched behind the waterpark, not behind the service road by I305.
  5. Fireworks aren't launched in that area, they're launched behind the waterpark. I see it nearly everyday. We close I305 for the fireworks.
  6. Intamin turns have pops of air time during the directional changes.
  7. The airtime hill trim is always on. Only trim on the ride. The water on the wheels is Wet Mode. It cools the tires down so they last longer. The cable lift is much slower in Wet Mode, but it saves on costs.
  8. King's Dominion does own that land. We hat check that area, there's a maintenance road there as well.
  9. Thanks! I was trying to get the embed function to work, but there was a disconnect between the monitor and the chair.
  10. Here is an offride and pov of the intamin hyper. Quality is kinda meh due to being filmed with a phone mounted to the seat.
  11. All coasters have forces, but when I say forceless, I mean that comparatively a coaster has no forces. I think this is what most people mean when they say forceless.
  12. They're not terribly common, but they happen enough. I think maybe one or two every couple of weeks usually.
  13. You assume that they won't make one, transportation, or that they want build a path around/through 305 (both are possible. While some ride's "expiration" date are coming up, this is something that is not unique to KD. With that thought process, all parks should be looking to replace their previous rides. Moreover, what determines that a ride is past its lifespan is another question that needs to be asked. What is the most likely answer, is that Jones and co will do what they think is best. And when I said KD has extra land, they have A LOT of land
  14. It's a good sized coaster, the problem with changing it that much is the layout, with its emphasis on big curves and lack of larger hills, is somewhat restricting without a lot of redoing everything. It is, however, an ideal ride for the much cheaper Topper Track rework, which would make it as good or slightly better as when it opened and help it stay that way... I rode it this last year once, and it actually has gotten worse, and is finally deserving of all the complaints over the years. Although I do think I'm starting to forget how fun it was when it and me were younger, it's hard to imagine it being just as rough and yet worthwhile due to having untrimmed airtime, I know the brake makes it boring but it may be even rougher with it now than it was once without. It's possible the next KD coaster will replace Hurler, but I'd certainly rather see them do something reasonably economical to fix it's problems than continue to run it as is or close it and let it sit. If somehow they do find some new space for a new, non-replacement coaster, I don't think they'll also replace Hurler anytime soon. The realities of KD is that a lot of coasters will be reaching their "expiration date" within the next 2 decades, I'd estimate: Anaconda -- less than 5 years FoF -- 10 years Volcano -- less than 15 Dominator -- 15-18 Backlot -- 15 Avalanche -- 5-15 ? I305 -- 20 ? And woodies can be maintained indefinitely, but Hurler shows the limits/problems with that. Replacement of some of these coasters will be improvements, but the new ones will be shaped by the spaces to be filled. I think the park "went out with a bang" regarding ADDING coasters with I305, and these expirations will be the "driver" of changes to come. The park still owns plenty of land.
  15. When I interned at an engineering firm, everyone mostly did excel work and paper signing stuff and then eat wings during happy hour at a local bar after. Very slow and boring.
  16. Good, let's keep it that way. Did I just read that someone wanted a double down on a dive machine? And why couldn't you have a double down on a dive machine? Explain this to me. Because it's B&M and it wouldn't deliver any airtime whatsoever? Made me laugh, a bit too much. well its a 130ft drop after the brake run so its probably about the same It's probably 140 ft +- 5 ft, or else it would crash into the ground.
  17. I've worked at I305 since 2012, and I can count the people that complain about the ride on my fingers. There are even little kids (11-12 yo) who ride it multiple times in a row and come off ecstatic. We never have lines because we're very efficient at pushing people through, even with 1 train. In training, we were taught several checklists to run through to get max capacity and we're consistently one of the highest capacity ride crew in the park...we even beat Dominator for some odd reason. No one ever knows what Dominator crew is doing I305 gets around 28-32 trains a hour with one train Volcano usually sends out 15-18 Flight of Fear 20-22 Dominator 25-30 Backlot at one point did get a record 40 cycles in a hour, but usually expect around 25
  18. wat? I305 is considered one of the best coasters in the world, and easily one of the best gigas.
  19. Yea, I was thinking about it overnight and I remembered the penny pit.
  20. I'm pretty sure Intimidator's cable is just a giant cylinder that rolls in X direction to move it. It's at the bottom of the first drop.
  21. I study Mechanical Engineering and my eyebrows thought they were a train on I305.
  22. Isn't it the colors of Skyrush? inb4wingcoasterspeculation
  23. I305 is my fun coaster. Although Volcano still has a place in my heart.
  24. I305's lift hill always has a ton of coins. The first airtime hill on I305 has all the cellphones The twisty parts on I305 you can find scrunchies, earrings, cellphones, wallets, money (basically things in peoples pockets). I've also found someone's weave here before. The last 2 airtime hills and the final twisty have a decent amount of cellphones and a lot of car keys.
