  1. @vigil & neil009 The shapes of drops are determined by ODEs. The result give you the angle the bottom of the drop needs to be in relationship to the top.
  2. @vigil & neil Actually, the shape of drops on modern coasters are determined by ODE. It gives you the require angle for the bottom of the drop, with reference to the angle of the top.
  3. That's what I would think also; but my longest wait was for Dominator as we were leaving since it was in the front. They weren't having any hiccups in operations either. I waited an hour for Dominator and an hour Volcano (which I expected). I never expected only 10-15 min wait for I-305. Like I said, maybe I'm wrong, while it does chew up people, it does slow down some because it's only 2 across compared to most B&M that are 4 across. Except I305 has 16 rows of 2 (32 seats), and Dominator has 8 rows of 4 (32 seats), so that doesn't really matter. I think it's a combination of the ride's location, reridability, and capacity. This so much. I305 has similar capacity to Dominator (they're super slow there),
  4. This is actually extremely common with Volcano. It always starts to stink in the mountain towards the end of the season.
  5. Yes, there is onsite housing, but it is usually reserved for international workers during the summer. I have yet to meet someone who lives in the U.S. who worked at the dorms, but you can double check with HR.
  6. Don't forget perspective. Objects further away appear shorter.
  7. Heavy fog + roller coaster? Yes please!!! Also, Kings Dominion does have one weird thing that I sort of understand but I think it is kind of pointless. They close Flight of Fear during heavy rain. Not just thunderstorms, but heavy rain. It happened when I went in mid-July. Could that possibly be because of a flooding concern? Water does pond up in that area rather quickly. Anyone know for sure? Flight of Fear doesn't close for rain, only for lightning. There is a individual who keeps an eye on lightning strikes within a certain radius of the park.
