  1. Now I'm pretty sure it might be plausible. Just because he talked about other coasters doesn't mean anything other than he's just like the rest of us. I'd be willing to put money on saying KD's management certainly wouldn't tell lower-level employees what's coming. Seasonal, nearly minimum wage type employees (including ride ops) don't know any more then we do. They don't tell them anything. They might have hearsay from their managers, but even their managers aren't clued into everything thats happening since they too are pretty low on the rung of an amusement park's "corporate ladder". To say the least I'll take this with a grain of salt.
  2. Those empty supports held cat walks that were over the water at GL, now that they're over dry land they didn't put them up.
  3. I really don't know what to expect/speculate at this point, this is obviously going to be far different then any other Intamin ride we've seen in a lot of ways.
  4. Exactly, its fun to come on here and guess and in the end see if you were right. Normally when someone says there's no proof of something yet they have a reason to think its something else so I thought you might have some other theories to throw out there.
  5. That hasn't even been proven yet. I said earlier in this thread about if they wanted to keep this a secret why would they put a label that says giga for the public to see? Just because the label says giga doesn't mean it will be. It could be a code that they know what it is and to throw the public off. They underestimated how much free time the roller coaster enthusiast community has. What do you think this ride will be?
  6. ^ How do we know that piece is for the lift? Is that a piece with marking/paper on it saying its a lift pice?
  7. I went to the park yesterday for the second time this season after work (from 7 until closing one hour later - at 8). First thing I noticed was a new big video billboard thing right by the entrance. I didn't stop long enough to see what all they were putting up there, but I imagine commercials and such. Still kind of neat. I got on Wild One, Cyclone (scrambler), Jokers Jinx, SROS, and Batwing in the hour I was there. The operators at SROS were probably among the best I have seen in who knows how long. Working fast and entertaining the guests. There were no lines but all the coasters except Batwing were running both trains. In general I'd say the employees were even better during this trip then my first trip a month ago or so. It seems management has done a good job getting the employees to do a great job this season based on what I've seen.
  8. I'm heading up there Saturday and will try to get as many of the credits done as possible. This is definitely on my to-do list now, hehe.
  9. I believe that's at Trimper's Rides. There's a small, compact single loop coaster at one of the parks there I believe.
  10. So this location has a wildcat, is it the other location that has the looping coaster I believe from pinfari? Or is the looping coaster now dead?
  11. There are at least a couple songs on that playlist I like so that'll be cool.
  12. I felt like Shivering Timbers was a good ride when I got on it for the first time a couple years ago. It gave a smooth enough ride and the floater air during the first half of the ride was superb. The second half was pretty mediocre imo, the trick track was pretty fun but that was about it.
  13. Kumba without a doubt is #1 for me. BTR would be up there, the one at SFOG left me greying out a little towards the end. Very short and intense coasters.
  14. In all 100+ pages of this thread this is the first time its been mentioned.
  15. Absolutely terrible news. I am thankful that the accident wasn't as massive a disaster as the DC Metro crash we saw up here recently, though.
  16. I can't believe I forgot about the snappable flyers! Thanks for the advice everybody. What I'm thinking right now is Knoebels this Friday and hope either later this summer, or next if I can't take the time off for some reason, I'll make it out to Kennywood for a full day. Staying at least one night in Pittsburgh. Obviously at Knoebels all the coasters are on my to-do list as is the haunted dark ride, flyers, and bumper cars. Any other must see rides?
  17. Where did you ride, though? In the first 2 rows you don't really get any airtime, in the back you do.
  18. Nice pictures, that last coaster sounds terrifying.
  19. Thanks for the advice, I was just planning on getting the all day thing, but think I'll go with the ticket books you talked about. With the distance and everything I'm definitely leaning towards Knoebels at this point
  20. This Friday I have the day off work and want to make a trip up to a PA park I haven't been to yet. Which park should I go to? I really want to get on Phoenix, badly. But at the same time I'd like to wait to go there when they finally get Flying Turns going. BUT it is an hour closer, and the difference between 3.5 hours and 4.5 hours can feel like an eternity... Kennywood has a bigger collection of coasters and rides in general but I'm wondering if I'm willing to make a 4-5 hour drive up there for it or if I should just wait so I can make a weekend trip out of it and enjoy a full day/night at the park....
  21. Sounds like a new addition to the "Stupid things the GP have said" thread.
