  1. That would be a great idea, seeing that all the people who can afford Porter are just rushing in to see the new Porter roller coaster, and the GP thinking we named our coaster after a hotel worker, and then painted the coaster brown just for fun.
  2. Perhaps, the "Superman" plaza is the first area they want to fix up? Wouldn't that make the most sense, to start in that area? Just think if they actually re-themed RoS to Superman, added another train and really re-themed that entire plaza. You all would be very happy with that, wouldn't you?
  3. It is only this year that you hear people in line calling it Polar Vortex, and I am saying that if the new coaster was painted red, it would not fit in the new theme, so why leave Vortex red?
  4. As promised, here are my Six Flags Darien Lake pins. These were bought the last year Six Flags owned the park. These are high-end "Disney-quality" pins. I can only hope that Six Flags will bring back similar pins to Darien Lake. Six Flags Darien Lake Six Flags Darien Lake 45th Anniversary Six Flags Marvin and his dog, spin Looney Tunes Tweety and Sylvester Oh No! . . . what happened to Tweety Bird? This one spins too Mr. Six, actually dances! Go Mr. Six, Go! Good job, Mr. Six! The Six Flags bus with Mr. Six danglers Honey Bunny with Bugs Bunny Daffy, Sylvester and Tweety Coyote and Yosemite Sam 45th Anniversary Six Flags button My beautiful Six Flags Darien Lake hat. I am looking forward to buying and creating a new Six Flags Darien Lake hat like this next year.
  5. Just think of the comments we would be having if it was pink or yellow. While we are talking coaster colours, how many of you agree with me that Vortex will need to be re-coloured to fit in with the "Canadian" theme. If it was to be re-named Polar Vortex, which a lot of the GP already calls it, then I think a cool ice blue would fit nicely.
  6. Pretty much the opposite reaction to what I had (which looked a lot like this: )! Seriously, Cedar Fair's love of all coasters red, orange, and yellow, has gotten SO stale, at least to me! Thank goodness for the Leviathan's and GateKeepers of the world to keep me from thinking they've completely lost all sense of variety! HOWEVER (before anybody smarts off about the color of the coaster having nothing to do with the ride experience), I don't care what the color is, because this looks like it's going to be EPIC, and I can't wait to finally get back to Canada, and this great park, next year! Enjoy coming to Canada for cheap as we Canadians cannot afford to come to US parks right now. It costs us $1.40 for one of your US bucks. Crazy! Canadian visits to American parks must be WAY down right now.
  7. I'm looking forward to a Six Flags Darien Lake pin trading program. I have a lot of Six Flags pins from when they owned DL in the past. I should post my pins on this forum. Would anyone be interested in seeing them?
  8. Totally agree. Fright Fest is terrible, at least it has been at the Six Flags parks I have been to it at - SF America, SF Great Adventure, and SF Fiesta Texas. The haunted houses are terrible and NEVER scary. However, on the bright side I LOVE being able to ride the coasters until midnight at Great Adventure. I will say that CW probably had the best Halloween event I've been to. The biggest disappointment is easily Halloween Horror Nights, at both Hollywood and Orlando. While the haunts were top notch the scares were effectively zero...every haunt had a constant stream of people which eliminated any chance at scares. It was really annoying to essentially just walk through themed sets with 30 other people all around you. That is exactly why I will never pay nor wait in line for a haunted attraction at an amusement park because they send way too many people through at once. People have argued with me that its due to how many people want to go in. However, on the flip side just because you go to an amusement park haunt does not guarantee you will get to go though all of them. Some of the haunts in PA only send your group through even with 2.5+ hour lines. My big bro has gone to every Halloween Haunt at Wonderland so he knows "tricks" and how to see every maze, however, the event at Darien Lake will never get that busy. If you ever go to Wonderland's Haunt, I highly recommend going on the first 2 weekends as the last 2 weekends are truly a waste of money. If you want to go to a Halloween event where you can actually see the mazes and perhaps get a couple of scares, then I recommend DL.
  9. Nice little coaster for adults. Adults who enjoyed the original Toy Story movie will LOVE it, as in the video. The video doesn't show any scared little kids crying. Teenagers would be bored. A lot of kids will being crying on that coaster. Way to intense for little 'Disney' kids! Also, way too intense for Grandma and Grandpa to ride with the scared grandkids, IMO.
  10. Wonderland's Haunt is only good if you go on the first 2 weekends. The last 2 weekends are way too busy. The 'conga' lines through the mazes destroy any possibility of any good scares.
  11. There is only one person who escalated it. Someone I wasn't even talking to just called me a bully. If that person actually knew who I was, he wouldn't have said that. Anyways, back to the thread. Man I LOVE Canada's Wonderland!
  12. Are you seriously on TPR out of all places expecting to be free of seeing any information relating to new coasters before official announcements? There are countless people on this forum who spend so much of their time speculating, theorizing and trying to figure out details on the new rides and spilling whatever beans they have. And in any case, people can read (or listen to) the info or not it's not forced upon them because it's in a separate video that doesn't play automatically. Some people are just curious and like knowing about this stuff early because it brings them satisfaction, excitement whatever it's their own thing but you don't have to click on a (judging by title) clearly spoilery video. I don't have a problem with speculating, theorizing or trying to figure out. There is nothing on the original video link that says "warning spoiler alert' nor in the actual video. One more thing for CedarFair1, if you can show me a written statement from the park stating that they are okay with you posting copyrighted blueprints on the internet, then I will agree to not bother you anymore . . .deal?
  13. Sorry dude, I just don't understand why you would want to be a 'spoiler'. I don't get the incentive. If you think you saw blueprints, why not just keep that information to yourself and wait for the park's official announcement like everyone else? You could have 'predicted' what you saw in the blueprints without actually showing them, and you could have been called a genius. As for you saying, 'I don't want to show you everything', that's too late dude, you just showed the entire inernet the official blueprints of what you think is a world record coaster. I just don't understand the need to show this information before Canada's Wonderland does. Kind of a bummer and let down now. The official announcement is now going to sound like your unofficial announcement dude.
  14. Much better, CF1, however, I do wonder why your 'blueprint' has no been deleted by the mods, hmm..
  15. CedarFair1, you have duplicated protected material! If you don't know what that means, you should read up on duplicating copyrighted documents. You can't take pictures of blueprints dude. Your 5000 viewers will have to pool together to get you out of jail.
  16. Technically you're correct, but heavily splitting hairs. In Engineering CAD refers to Computer Aided Drafting, software that draws up objects in 2-and 3D. Other packages that do other design aspects (CFD, FEA, Numerical Methods, Gas Dynamics) are not referred to as CAD, rather by what portion of design work they actually do. PATTYCAKES has a more correct argument in this context, in my time working in Engineering CAD has always specifically referred to drafting software. Thank you, Ih8rollercoasters, and by the way, until 2011, I hated roller coasters too. I could help you LOVE roller coasters if you are ever interested. Just let me know, I will help you get on some coasters.
  17. Premier is not going to invest a penny more into the park until Six Flags takes over operations.
  18. I'm very happy he finally was cleared of all charges, proving he truly did LOVE all of his animals. Rest in peace, John. I hope it continues to operate for many more generations of kids and families as John always fought to maintain.
  19. Yes, much better, thanks. I'm sorry, I am just more used to CAD drawings looking more like this example. Just because you used a computer to design something, doesn't mean you actually used a CAD program, sorry.
  20. Fair enough, DarienPoint, but why would you paint a building if you plan on taking it down? Or why would you paint a building if you were going to sell it in a year or two? I understand that ME should be painted but again, why would you spend that much money if you are planning on selling the park? Perhaps this is why they stopped painting large projects and have been painting fence posts and smaller projects.
  21. I could replicate that "CAD" drawing on paint.
  22. My family and I were there 2 years ago and they were actually painting the wooden fences near the beaver brothers restaurant and around the American Flag. This was actually being done in August. So don't tell me DL isn't well maintained and the black top is actually a part of the atmosphere. There are just hard bricks to walk on at Wonderland.
  23. That is not a CAD drawing, CedarFair1.
  24. Since we are talking about Canada's Wonderland on the Darien Lake thread, I thought I might ad my opinions. I am from Toronto and I am less than half an hour from Wonderland. I have a season pass, so I have never bought a fast pass for Wonderland. Fast pass is unnecessary at Wonderland when you have a season pass. So, IMO, I have to say that I, and my entire family, have always preferred Darien Lake to Wonderland. The reason is that at Darien Lake, you can actually get on some rides. Lines at Wonderland are ALWAYS ridiculous now. About 10 years ago they really built a tremendous amount of housing, very near the park, and within walking distance. It doesn't matter when you go now, it will always be packed. You might get on a couple of the lesser rides, but even our old-fashioned cars has a huge line. The atmosphere at Darien Lake is far above Wonderland's. As soon as my family enters DL, until the last minute we leave, is absolutely beautiful. When we leave Darien Lake, we immediately want to return. We don't get that felling at Wonderland. You all should feel very lucky for having a beautiful park like Darien Lake. As for Six Flags taking it over again, I think some of you have forgotten what Six Flags did to DL the last time they owned it. If it were up to me, I would leave the names of the rides as they are right now. Dl's rides don't need to be called by super hero names. That totally destroys the atmosphere and it really makes the park seem a lot cheesier than it needs to be. Leave things as they are, Six Flags. Darien Lake is an awesome park! Canadians love DL as it is right now, although it is VERY expensive right now with the exchange, but we will be back. I just hope Sis Flags doesn't run it inti the ground again after 10 years of successful rebuilding.
