Wow, I hit a nerve. I didn't mean only Cedar Fair, I meant any true theme park company. I just thought DL locals would prefer Cedar Fair compared to Six Flags. What about Disney or Universal? Only these big theme park companies could turn Darien Lake into something big like something close to what many of you have been dreaming of. Believe me, Wonderland locals were dreaming for 25 years. When Cedar Fair bought Wonderland in 2006, CW got a world class coaster in one year. Darien Lake, bought by a big theme park company, could also get a world class coaster too. The buzz we are creating, on just speculation, shows that something big would benefit DL. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

Sk, Darien Lake being bought by Cedar Fair would be the greatest thing that has ever happened at DL. It was the greatest thing to ever happen to Wonderland. This year we will be hosting 4 million guests and have been getting world class coasters and rides since 2007. Darien Lake would be a sister park to Wonderland. True, it would be hard for DL to host 4 million guests, however, a platinum season pass would encourage CW guests to drive a couple of hours to DL and in turn would boost DL attendance. DL would for sure get a new coaster or two and a ton of new flats, over several years. I have said this before, a major 'roller coaster' company to buy Darien Lake, would be in the best interest of DL and all guests who visit, now and in the future.

Thank you, Golddisk. I knew Darien Lake cast members wouldn't lie to me. It was like that even in the Six Flags days. Dgk, I have sent you subtle hints, however, you have forced me to spell this out to you. Please don't call me 'son', 'dude', 'bud'. My name is Patty, I am a girl, and you are very offensive, Bud, imo. I will not be communicating with you anymore. Please do not argue with my opinions, thank you.

Don't worry guys, the laser show is not going to be moved anywhere. Although an 11pm close would be good, even being Canadian, I know that people working at Darien Lake work 12 hour shifts, 4 days a week. So if you want an 11pm closing, you would also get an 11am opening, so that too, is not going to happen.

Dgk, you forgot to add a major change in ownership to your fantasy to pay for it. My family has been going to Darien Lake since before it was a theme park, and certainly before you were born. I can tell you, the arcade has been there for over 35 years, Darien Square has always been a part of the campground. They don't need to move the parking lot, there is a ton of space that is already not being used. Your fantasy would take 20-25 years Dgk, not to mention millions of dollars. Canada's Wonderland added cabanas in our waterpark this year. An easy $300,000/year. Arcade, slingshot, go-carts are making money for your park. Why on earth would you want DL to make less money? I don't understand your theory. Upcharge attractions actually keep the gate admission prices low.

Dgk, I can't be your son, look at my name. At least we agree on #5 and #6. Now, why does everyone think they will move Twister? It looks like it is going to fall apart! A coaster will never go through Galaxy theatre, imo. One more thing, no one is supposed to be yelling on this forum. Calm down Dgk, and no caps please! If you want to 'go off' on me, feel free to PM me, I'd like to hear it, then I'll send a copy to the Administrators of this site. You can't 'go off' on someone for stating their opinion, baby. Also, don't assume Canadians don't buy Darien Lake season passes.

Before I stop "obsessing" about go-carts, can I ask this question? Who ever said the go-carts were even leaving? I mean, we're having this stupid debate about someone's speculation? Let's get back to talking about something that might actually happen, like Lake Monster or a parking lot on the other side of the street or building the coaster in the grave yard or bringing back Cuda Falls or Galaxy Theatre being removed! All these things too, not going to happen, imo! What about re-opening the mini-golf? Would that upcharge be okay?

Same show, different name. The theatre show was horrible 4 years ago, and it's still horrible now! I might, (I repeat, might) watch Skeleton Crew this year, however, that too has been the same show for 4-5 years now too. Time for a complete Haunt revamp at Canada's Wonderland. Sorry to say this, but, Wonderland's Haunt has been getting more 'same old, same old' for quite a few years now. Maybe that's why there has been a big price drop this year. -
Sarah, if you look at major parks in the U.S., upcharge attractions make huge amounts of profit for theme parks and are the way of the future, and most times, the price goes down as more new rides are added. Yes, it may take more money out of your pocket, but, in the long run, Darien Lake will benefit from more rides that guests actually help to pay for. Again, the go-carts have been there for at least 20 years, they're not going anywhere.

Spirit Manor is new, and I won't be going to the theatre show this year, Toxicity is horrible! -
Actually, I have been on the go-carts at FunSpot. Please don't think Darien Lake should build a go-cart track like that. Although I enjoyed it, the go-cart track at FunSpot is definitly NOT family-friendly. If seeing adults pushing kids side-ways, down a hill, in a go-cart, on the verge of flipping, is something you'd like to see at Darien Lake, then I'm sorry, that would not be good for DL, and $5 is more than enough to pay for a few laps of gas. DL is making money on the go-carts. If you have a season pass, then you don't know, it is kind of a tradition for campers to do a few laps on the go-carts before going back to roast a few marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire before tucking in a sleeping bag to rest for the next day, and perhaps another few laps in the morning. If anything, they should bring in more upcharge attractions, like a new mini-golf, and move Facination back to the 'campers only' area so that they can keep it open longer just for the campers. Upcharge attractions make money for parks, and the go-carts are not going anywhere, any time soon.

I'm not talking about advertising, super, I'm talking about theming. Like the difference between Splash Mounain and a generic flume ride or the difference between working elements on Italian Job Stunt Track and non-working elements like on Backlot Stunt Coaster or how about the beautiful Harry Potter areas in Universal. Wonderland doesn't have any rides or areas that are heavily themed. They just buy generic coasters and generic stations and think that is good enough. -

Whatever Wonderland gets, they really need to buy a theming package to go with it. That is something Wonderland really lacks with thier coasters, nice theming packages. -
False. I haven't been on any Hyper Coasters. The person below has been to a clothing optional beach. (I have.)
