  1. Big email tease! Seriously this work week is just a countdown to WCB. I sure hope YOLO bar has a good tap selection.
  2. What about parking on the first visit? The voucher printout mentions... I assume/hope this gets me in. Just wondering if anyone has experience.
  3. If I have to pick, then Team Gold. Looks more Steampunk. Not that I'm an expert on Steampunk. ^ Perhaps copper would have been perfect.
  4. John Paul Stapp... 46.2 Gs http://www.ejectionsite.com/stapp.htm (mentioned during one of this week's Thrill Factor episodes)
  5. Maybe slightly less crazy here. I'm definitely going to order one and process it during WCB so I can come back for Revolution and try to make my way up to SFDK for Joker next year.
  6. Man I'm learning so much today Loop actually refers to the shape of a line that begins and ends in the same place. So in actuality, a corkscrew in coaster terms, where it is an inversion, is not a vertical loop. Here endeth the TPR Geometry lesson. Hey that's exactly what I was thinking. Interesting and completely nerdy stuff.
  7. Perfect Throwback Thursday for me. I remember riding Revolution with my dad back in 1988 with just the lap bars. Finally!
  8. I learned from "How the States Got Their Shapes" that Texas has no (or very few) zoning laws. They showed the guy who lives right next to the Boardwalk Bullet at Kemah Boardwalk. EDIT: I'd have to go back and watch the episode, but I think this is the street view of his house. https://www.google.com/maps/@29.5458254,-95.0168818,3a,75y,312.11h,87.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sN_hgwt2OXZVIRSE6Nfgn_w!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!6m1!1e1
  9. Wow. What a great design. And thanks to Tanks4me05 and coasterfreak101, I get it!
  10. Woohoo! Congrats and see you next next Saturday.
  11. This seems like the appropriate place for this... So I finally rode the Slotzilla Upper Zoomline tonight thanks to their half price anniversary deal. Fun ride. Worth it at $20. Not sure it's worth the regular $40. The hour-long wait to actually fly is kind of ridiculous. My check-in time was 9:40pm and I finally zoomed at 10:50pm. Anyway, worth doing once. (I also rode the original zip line when it was just a temporary structure).
  12. Oh good job. I was wondering about the original photo. I also love the dual color scheme. Looking forward to the actual announcement.
  13. What if the entire roller coaster structure was dark and the train itself had lights? That would be fun to see. And great to photograph with a super long exposure.
  14. That's a shame about TPR tours. I'm a TPR noob and while it's not why I joined, the possibility of going on one intrigued me. Totally understandable though. It's tough enough doing group trips with friends and keeping everyone happy. With complete strangers? Anyway... still excited for my first TPR event in a few weekends.
  15. If this includes SBNO and relocated... Bush Beast - Australia's Wonderland Beastie - Australia's Wonderland Demon - Australia's Wonderland Thunderbolt - Dreamworld, Australia Windjammer - KBF Lightning Bolt - MGM Grand Adventures High Roller - Stratosphere Speed The Ride - Sahara Flashback - SFMM Psyclone - SFMM Shockwave - SFMM Déjà Vu - SFMM Gwazi - BGT Roar - Marine World (yeah I know SFDK)
  16. I've never been either but I was going to say Franklin's BBQ in Austin, especially since you are specifically searching for brisket. I forgot how/where I first learned about that place. But like Joe said, expect to wait in line for several hours ahead of opening time. Jon Favreau went there in the movie Chef, so it must be good.
  17. I had no idea there were two technologies in use. I rode the one in Orlando about a decade ago, which I guess uses springs.
