  1. Oh man I'm still trying to figure out a last minute trip down there this month...
  2. I have a noob question. I see that it uses a cable lift (two even). How does the train grab onto the cable?
  3. For what it's worth, I sent the link to my girlfriend. She read it and seems to think it's legit.
  4. Perhaps an entire stalk of bamboo salt...
  5. Without fail, I can check this thread seemingly daily and there are new photos. Thanks all!
  6. Haha... pAssholders. Or pAssHoleders. (Took me a second to catch up while reading your post).
  7. When I first rode Lex, I was like holy crap this is high. Last time at WCB, I was almost surprised when we "already" reached the top. Haha
  8. ^ Yeah. Riding Twisted Colossus is a tough life, but someone's gotta do it. EDIT: Wait... this is the SFDK thread. Oops. Yay Joker! I'm definitely planning a trip to check out this bad boy... along with a return visit to Russian River Brewing Company.
  9. Manhattan Express. The second drop is about double the height of the first! But the ride overall is just meh. (Haven't been on it since the 90s).
  10. Dang I wish every park had quality construction progress videos like that!
  11. Also posted on their facebook, the ZDT family got to ride Switchback on Friday. I hope they post another video soon. I'm interested to see if it's running faster now.
  12. From http://www.kentuckykingdom.com/comingsoon/storm-chaser/: "Storm Chaser will be built with RMCs’ patented iBox track, which is featured on only five other coasters in the world. In the case of Storm Chaser, the iBox track will rest on wood, creating the “feel” of a wooden coaster, but will be supported by a steel superstructure." I don't really understand why it would (pun intended), but that's the quote.
  13. ^^ Nice trip report. Sounds like a pretty good event. Considering it's a Busch park, good to see the selection wasn't all A-B InBev.
  14. Awesome trip report! Always fun reading about the experiences of others, especially from someone with as much passion as you... at age 12!
  15. This is what I experienced during morning ERT. We dispatched and easily caught green, only to overtake and crest first. Someone mentioned a few pages ago that they identified this and fixed it around 2pm. When I rode again at 11pm, it did duel almost perfectly on both sides.
  16. Nice we're staying at the same place except we have a balcony facing the courtyard.
  17. Watching those perfectly synced trains is just a thing of beauty. For some reason, this ride makes me feel nostalgic even though I've still never been there.
  18. It's bible-thon on Saturday. It'll be insanely packed. In 2013 it wasn't that bad. The crowd for the concerts arrived in the afternoon. With all of the ERT, I was able to ride everything without any issue, and my group left the park for about 5-6 hours in the middle of the day to go drink. That's a lot of drinking! But seriously I had no idea about the "other" event tomorrow. Good to know. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/special-events/concert/hallelujah-jubilee EDIT: And of course, this has been mentioned before and my memory just sucks. Yay search.
  19. Well there's Green Flash beer from the San Diego area. Not sure what YOLO bar's tap list looks like.
  20. Yeah I've been watching the weather forecasts. Didn't know about precipitation. Should (hopefully) drop to the 90s (high) by Saturday. We'll probably take a midday break anyway.
  21. I thought it was "Orange is the new track?" Even better! p.s. From now on, EVERY coaster announcement MUST be accompanied by a 360-degree / Google Cardboard VR video.
