  1. I don't think you need to fear that much because the motion simulator fad kinda went away only a few years after it started, so VR fad is probably going away too. On another note, why is that one restraint different than all the other restraints?
  2. If you want it to be even slightly family oriented but still offer some thrill and heights, and budget of course, i would prefer an SBF Drop N Twist, they have lots of different sizes. http://sbfrides.com/en/rides/14/TOWERS/
  3. Go to the city of Den Bosch, it's a direct bus easily from efteling (a shuttle to efteling and back leaves from the centre of den bosch) and straight from the bus stop in Den Bosch you get to the trainstation from which you can quickly walk into the old city and see their lovely city.
  4. Just out of curiosity, how would everyone here rate Fahrenheit as a coaster so ignoring lack of theming and horrible name?
  5. Ummm, about the same way as any other amusement park is built, you have people/companies investing money in it.... And maybe they're not being pinchy with the money like merlin or six flags, using their profits for more rides instead of keeping it
  6. ^^ the funny thing is there's taller coasters in the same damn park
  7. Regarding slammer, it's great that Thorpe is trying to keep the only skyswat left alive! Apparently they did some work on it with S&S Sansei and now it goes up and down faster and is more reliable.
  8. I don't see how this gives a different experience from a Larson Loop. I'm guessing the function would be like this (sorry for the rly crappy model it's just supposed to show the movement) [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/4oiGpAWt5Gk[/youtu_be]
  9. Yikes. Was there any actual need for it? Also why did they have to make it diagonal? Besides we have a zacspin in my homepark and it has only a couple of supports for the whole massive structure and it sways like crazy, more than that airtime hill did and it's completely fine, has been since 2008 or so (after 2007 they added a couple extra supports though)
  10. Have you ever put your arms up at any point on any roller coaster?? In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure most coasters are designed with the idea of people putting their hands up in mind. I think we are led to believe so but I wonder if we can always trust that 100%. I mean, when I'm entering the tunnel on the bottom of shambhala's drop (for instance) I'm pretty sure I can trust the clearance tests but there are some occasions when I'm just not completely sure. I haven't put my hands up on a rollercoaster because usually not holding onto the restraint (on OSTR coasters) obviously makes headbanging more prevalent since there's nothing to stabilize your upper body and i don't really get the thrill of it, but besides that honestly i'm pretty sure they don't make these rules just to spoil people's fun
  11. Soo these have to be changed basically because idiots don't follow the "keep your hands inside the cars" rule? Ffs.
  12. Have you heard of airtime?
  13. In a sense, yes but more sofisticated and more thrilling, and can go up as well as down Oh yeah and the water would only be at splashdowns Helix of wet? Car gets put into a enclosed helix, pipeline coaster style.... I mean that can be an element, but that's not rly the main point, just imagine THIS with a splashdown
  14. In a sense, yes but more sofisticated and more thrilling, and can go up as well as down Oh yeah and the water would only be at splashdowns
  15. All my yes. Actually, why not a bobsled water coaster? Like those old intamin bobsleds like La Vibora or Bobbaan at Efteling. Except with boat parts and a splash down.
  16. Garry's Mod, terrible to work with since the physics don't usually agree with making rides but you can get it to work and your mind is free to do whatever you want. I'm working on another one right now actually.
  17. Another one, a weird mix of rainbow and kamikaze and something idk it's an original ride, deal with it! [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/Jyayj3y5GyI[/youtu_be] Keep in mind, it's a double arm so that the capacity isn't absolutely horrible
  18. De vliegende hollander is only more intense in the sense of overall experience, but as a ride less intense than joris en de draak. Don't forget the bobsled! It's an amazing ride and perfect family thrill!
  19. I mean it's not really the same at all besides the gondolas spinning wildly
  20. I came up with this flatride idea (i mean i have others but i'm willing to share this one): It doesn't have a huge capacity, only 16 seats all together which isn't really good for such a big ride. The structure is really simple but the idea is there. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/5H_3wDZ5PfE[/youtu_be] The gondolas spin freely and the unbalanced nature can make for some quick movement. It has lapbars and the arms go up and down by gravitational force.
  21. It can't be the real thing though, wrong dimensions and the centre of the plate doesn't have the hub which is necessary for zamperla Disk'o's to work.
  22. It's quite easy to recognize as a knockoff since zamperla versions don't have such visible wheels and most of the ride system is inside the central hub where the restraint button is.
  23. Why is there an SDC Galactica in the article picture though?
  24. I'm guessing it won't since the one in the news isn't a Zamperla one
