Such an awesome looking coaster, both as far as the ride experience itself, as well as the colors! I simply cannot wait to get out to SFDK for the first time and ride this - hopefully next year! I still prefer Lightning Rod, personally, but this immediately jumps to second on my list of most anticipated 2016 coasters! Well done once again, Six Flags and RMC!

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Ok, so here's a "Would you rather?" question for all of your KI regulars... Would you rather go to a Friday Fright Night at KI on October 2nd of this year? Or October 23rd? (If I end up passing on PPP, the 9th is a possibility too...) Since I'll be driving quite a ways just for this, I really want to minimize lines, and maximize rides! Thanks! -
^^^I still remember fondly getting the last train of the night on Millennium Force once! It was definitely an awesome experience, and everybody was SO hyped up! As I recall, we had to get off at the first brake run, and not the unload station, which was something different! Regarding the announcement tomorrow, is there a place to watch the announcement? Or is it just released to all their sites in video format simultaneously?

Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread

Great news for IB! I really, really enjoyed this little park when I went there back in 2007, but I have heard it's gone downhill since then... I'm just glad that this might mean it'll head back in the other direction, because I'd really like to make it back someday! -

You know, I know that you only like roller coasters, but a lot of people, including me, don't think that JLBFM was a "buzz killer of an attraction." In fact, there are those who find it "exciting" and not in the least bit "unfortunate". But, I guess some people are just never pleased with anything. I'm with you on this! As much as I like coasters (and that's an awful lot!), if MiA got a JL:BFM attraction next year, I would be there opening day, salivating at our good fortune! I definitely don't put SFStL in the same conversation coaster-drought-wise as parks like Great Escape and Michigan's Adventure... True story: I am tentatively putting on hold my next trip to SFGAm from this year until next year, just because the rumor is they're getting a JL:BFM ride. That means delaying my first RMC as well. Maybe I'm severely overrating these rides, but they look pretty cool to me! -
I had figured that Titan was what GAdv's 2016 coaster world be named, since I assumed it was going to be a big addition. Now that's it's looking like a 4D Free Spin, I'm not sure that sounds like a "Titan" to me... But hey - this is Six Flags we're talking about here! We certainly don't expect their names to always make sense!

What was your favorite new ride of 2015?
DILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Next year is looking pretty amazing already! I have a feeling Lightning Rod might unseat Fury to be my new #1, and we'll have two other RMC's just here in the States! Valravn and Mako look to be very enjoyable B&Ms, and a lot of those smaller coasters popping up at smaller parks look pretty fun as well. And SF hasn't even announced yet! But this thread is about celebrating 2015, so I digress... -

Nice write-up! I've only ridden two of those, but you summed up my thoughts as well! -

Am I correct in assuming that the closer you get to Halloween, the busier the weekend on the whole (including Fridays) becomes? -

So far, I've only been on Fury, Thunderbird, and Rougarou. Of those three, both Fury and Thunderbird landed in my top 15, with the mind-blowing awesomeness that was Fury shooting straight to #1! I am still hopeful that I will be riding Impulse later this year, while attending PPP! While I am certain it won't top Fury, and doubtful that it'll top Thunderbird, it has a solid chance to best Rougarou (which, I did still think was a massive improvement over Mantis!) -

I don't know guys, something about this picture makes me think that maybe it was changed. The graphic design of this countdown teaser thing makes me think of like medieval or vikings or something... it looks completely different from designs of the teasers before it... But it might just be me. I don't know. Now I'm rambling. ....? The countdown is literally the same exact font, and the logo/emblem that has been discussed over the last page is the one from the original invites.... I'll eat my foot if they changed the name. To provide further visual verification that clearly, nothing has changed since pre-accident... Pre-accident announcement... Post-accident announcement... -
These days, I never ride any of the "Kiddie" coasters, unless I'm riding with my kids. Back when I went to KD years ago, Hypersonic XLC was closed, so that's the most notable coaster I've missed due to it not being open. As for coasters I COULD have ridden, if I had wanted to, but chose not to when I went to Carowinds for the first time earlier this year... Carolina Cobra (though I've ridden it at GL), Carolina Cyclone, and the Carolina Goldrusher. And no, I didn't just avoid them because of "Carolina" being in their name! I just felt my time would be better spent getting more rides in on Fury!

I would add Rougarou to the must-rides in front. Personally, at least, that's the money seat for the Floorless coasters because you get the true, wide-open effect! if you have time (which it sounds like you will with Fast Pass), I would ride most of the coasters in the front, and back, at least once. While MF is definitely a must-ride in the front, it's also a must-ride (and much shorter line) in the back, where you get pulled over that 300 foot drop, and through the rest of the ride! -
West Coast Bash 2015!

Dude, New Years Eve WCB. At the stroke of midnight Xcelerator launches with tons of pyrotechnics erupting along the launch and up the tower. Just sayin... -

Yes, we usually do. Can't guarantee it will be the same time of year, though. No problem! I'll just keep an eye out for it, and plan my trip to visit my brother accordingly! -

Thanks for the tips, guys! I am definitely thinking that hitting up KI for some night rides on Banshee, The Beast, and Diamondback, is a stellar idea! I don't typically do haunts, but I just may check out that Madame Fatele one, upon your recommendation! -

Do you guys do WCB every year? I know I can't make it out this year, but I'm pretty certain I could next year, if it were to run around the same time! -

I know it's all a matter of personal preference, but I find it nearly impossible to believe that people who say they don't "feel" any airtime, aren't still spending plenty of time with their bottoms off the seat (unless they stapled themselves or are too large?). And that, my friends, is dictionary definition "airtime". Just because it's not ejector air, doesn't mean it's not airtime. I think when we all discuss airtime here at TPR, there is a need to be specific regarding which kind of airtime you are referring to, because otherwise it's just a cause for contention. -

What are crowds typically like Friday nights during Halloween Haunt? I really want to get some night rides in on Banshee, and figure that would be my best bet to do so! Also, do they take some rides and coasters out of commission those nights? Thanks!
