  1. Thank you for posting this video. It really shows what a RMC conversion can do to re-vitalize an old coaster. No can dispute that the RMC conversion is a significant upgrade!
  2. Thanks for the update. Fuji Q looks like a must do!
  3. I don't follow the twitter, I didn't know. I look forward to seeing the groups adventure! *Update: Just went to the twitter and saw some of the post they are amazing! I love the picture of the little girl looking like she is swallowing the roller coaster! lol
  4. First thanks for posting so much about your trip. As I've said earlier, I am totally using this forum to help me incorporate some theme parking into my trip. With that said, I see that you didn't go to Fuji Q, which I felt like a must do. In some of the other post you seem to suggest that they have terrible customer service. Did something happen? Should American's avoid that park?
  5. I am planning a trip to Japan next year and this whole thread is so awesome and has been very helpful in learning some do's and dont's in Japan!
  6. I am loving all the food adventures in these post. Even the display sushi looks super fresh!
  7. Your hanging out in Tokyo day looks super fun! So MUCH GOOD FOOD!
  8. That first picture in front of three castles is awesome. I am beyond envious!
  9. I am very excited about Steel Vengeance but I am worried as a bigger rider. I am wondering how accommodating if at all the ride is for bigger guest. For context, I can ride, MF, Mav., etc., but was turned away from TTD and WT. Given those facts, what are my chances of riding the coaster?
  10. I am very excited about this new park. I want to go to the Tokyo Disney Land Resort b/c so many people say that Tokyo Disney Sea is so amazing. I also want to go visit Japan and the Japanese parks. Looking at the space on Google maps, I do wonder where they are going to find the space to put in a brand new park. They look pretty land locked. However, they figured it out at the Disney Land Resort with Disney Land at 85 acres and Disney's California Adventure at 72, so I am sure they will shoe horn that third gate in somewhere, and It will be awesome!
  11. Good point. SV is the type of rollercoaster people use to make on Rollercoaster Tycoon that you never think a real park would make. I am so excited! lol
  12. The food looks amazing! Note to self: don't look at food & wine post on an empty stomach. lol
  13. Everyone has a list of parks they want to get to that may be outside their immediate market. Many do make trips outside of their market for rides they are think are worth it. For example I am in the DC metro area. I never visited Carowinds until Fury 325. For me, it is hard to justify passing Twisted Timbers and Lightening Rod (when open) for Twisted Colossus, albeit a solid RMC. If I am every in GA and have a off day I would certainly check it out though.
  14. This will be a great addition for SFOG. Anytime a park "RMC's" the ride is better for it. The trains look cool. It does feel a little short, but the original ride was not very long. IMO it is hard for me to get as excited about this RMC as I would have in other years because both Steel Vengeance and Twisted Timbers look like better rides. Also, both Cedar Point and Kings Dominion are closer to me. With that being said when I go SFOG this would be the ride I am heading to at rope drop!
  15. This does look pretty cool, only if it is not required that I have to destroy my park after I just built it up, lol.
  16. From what I understand the theming for Steel Vengeance is that there is a conflict between Maverick and the new ride. Is it just me or does first inversion that turns into a half stall remind anyone else of the twisted horseshoe element on Maverick?
  17. They have so much land. Why do they need to take out anything?
  18. They made us wait for it, but it was well worth it! They threw the kitchen sink at us with this ride. CF knew that this was the dream RMC conversion and they did not hold anything back. What I am most excited about Steel Vengence, and its little cousin, Twisted Timbers, is that it looks like they are using the full layout of the original coaster(s). In both instances they are using MORE track, whereas in previous Six Flags conversions they have shortened the layout.
  19. Major props to Hershey for such awesome additions. A water "coaster" (if it ain't on RCDB, it doesn't count, imo, lol) and a record breaking mat slide is amazing. What makes it more amazing it is they are not removing any major attractions. Hershey always does such a great job in using and repurposing spaces in the park! I have never been a water park guy but this addition has me intrigued. Alot of parks are bringing their A game for 2018.
  20. Great Bear @ Hershey Park. That ride began my love affair with roller coasters!
  21. It probably is going to go. It is such a fun ride though, but it would be a lateral move essentially. Also it will add to more water park cohesion.
  22. Looking at google maps I can't picture where they could add a meaningful expansion with out getting rid of a roller coaster. The park just built Laff Trak, an indoor spinning wild mouse coaster, directly across from the more traditional Wild mouse. The Wild Mouse is also right next to a slide complex so it may be the most ideal spot for an expansion. Less likely, but an option, is to get rid of Sidewinder, the boomerang coaster. However, they just got new trains for that ride. Edit: They could get rid of Tidal force too, lol.
  23. Great trip report so far-- Keep posting! Your perspective is quite interesting!
  24. Thanks for the great video. This ride is going to be insane. I can't wait to take a ride on the New Mean Streak. Unlike some RMC conversions, it looks like they are using close to all the existing structure and track length. I would not be surprised if the new ride is longer than the old one.
