  1. Darn tearing down coaster already, I guess Riverwood is not going for the most roller coaster record, lol. The park still looks great keep it up. I like how the park is growing on both sides.
  2. Idk. The ride can only do 16 people per train, which is kinda low when you think that the Dominator and I305 are doing 32 per train. I know that a when the ride first open it was having some tech issues and I think they decreased the capacity but part of the issue is they can only run 2 trains and they trains are shorter than most rides.
  3. I feel l like no matter what they do the line for Volcano is long and I don't think they ever run more than 2 trains which makes it even worse. But it is an pretty amazing invert, when it first open it didn't get much love but as it is gotten older I think more people appreciate how innovative and awesome the ride is, there Is no other coaster experience like it in the World. I agree though. None of the lines KD compare to busy day at Cedar Point!
  4. Even though I am a platinum pass holder with cedar fair, I think I am going to just bit the bullet and get the fast pass plus at least one of the day when I go so I can ride everything as much as I want. Sounds like the Cedar Point lines are always crazy! lol
  5. 2016 will be a waterpark expansion for sure, but we don't know if it will just be a new splash pad, or an additional slide complex or even a ride on the dry side as well. It's up in the air at this point. Why do you say 2017 "should" be a flat ride? I'm all for adding flat rides, but there's only so long you can market and expand on years and years of inexpensive additions. You said it yourself, SFA is in a competitive market. This is something they can take advantage of though--this park has waited long enough and made such dramatic changes since its worst days. The park deserves it, the longtime visitors deserve to see this park take a much greater step. Its been inching forward for five years now--time to take the leap. A flat ride is not what this park needs most at this point. I say flat because they have a solid coaster line up. Even though the park is my home park I rarely go b/c I it always felt like a second class park but on paper they have a solid/diverse line up: Hyper Coaster, Flying Coaster, Launch coaster, Stand up, Invert, Twisted Woodie, Out and back woodie, spinning wild mouse. SFA's problem is that most of the coasters thy have are rough or old or used. While I think the park can use another another flat is because the park doesn't really and hasn't built a legit flat ride in a while. Fireball is a start but what about a Super Swing or a Frisbee ride. A strong/intense flat ride will help their portfolio.
  6. Man Twisted Roar seems so great. It would be one of the great and the first GCI to be transformed to a RMC. To be honest I don't that will happen. SFA is it in a tough market. They focus on the Baltimore-Washington market but they have Hershey Park and Kings Dominion both trying to court those park goers. It seems like 2016 is going to a water park expansions, which does nothing for me b/c I don't think they are fun or sanitary. 2017 should be a new thrill ride/flat ride. SFA has a decent line up right now personally I'd like to see another B&M or Intamin coaster before re-doing Roar b/c from what I understand it was retracked and when I rode it earlier this year it wasn't that bad.
  7. I would recommend getting to Dorney in time for the pass-holder early entry at 9:30am. The lines are not bad at all until about 4:00pm or so because everyone is over in the wet side of the park. Oh ok cool, what if the person I go with doesn't have a season pass?
  8. Hey I brought a season pass for the Cedar Fair parks and wanted to visit Dorney Park b/c I have the pass. Is it super crowded on weekend? Last time I went everything was a walk-on. They even let us stay on Steel Force twice with out getting off.
  9. Yeah I think that Kings Dominion is certainly the park of the Mid-Atlantic and they have DC- Bmore- Richmond market. I don't think that Busch Gardens is really a threat b/c Kings Dominion is a different kind of park IMO also KD now has the water park included.
  10. The coaster does look intense but I think that KD has already basically said they are getting a winged flyer from B&M that will interact with the front of the park entrance in some way. I don't think they are going to get a hyper coaster. I hope they don't tear down the shockwave and try to go for 15 coasters in one park, that alone would be a great marketing point for the park to say they have more coaster than any other park in the entire east coast!
  11. I went to Orlando this December and you basically described my trip. We were there for 6 days we did everything Disney before we even thought about US or IOA even though I liked both parks! It looks like with the new water park Universal is trying to capture more Disney people but that won't really detract from the major parks. At best it will just be a battle between Blizzard Beach and the new park. This past year was my first time in a while going to Orlando and Universal Studios has expanded a lot since I went in 1995 as a child.
  12. I have never been to Knott's Berry Farm OR Magic Mountain but both parks seem pretty amazing! Doing them back to back also seems like a blast!
  13. I guess to all onto the Hershey Park band wagon, Skyrush is very underrated roller coaster. It is one of the most intense roller coasters, that I have been on and the ejector airtime is intense, some might say too intense. You really have to trust the restraints b/c there are so many moments where u feel like you are going to fly out of your seat on that thing especially if you are in one of the winged seats!
  14. Went to Hershey Park this past week and I just wanted to say for anyone wonder the park is very friendly when it comes to larger people. I am a rather tall and wide guy and I was very nervous about getting on that new ride Laff Trakk. I was more nervous when I saw a man that could not get on the ride. When it was my turn however the park attendants were very friendly and made sure I could get on the ride. I was snug but I got to ride. Laff Trakk: The ride The ride itself is a great fit for the park and Midway America. It is intense enough that I wasn't bored. I didn't have to wait long to ride because I went on a weekday but the ride was fun and the dark ride elements were pretty cool as well. Even though on paper the ride is basically a more extreme Wild mouse it was a totally different kind of experience with the dark elements and the spinning car. Laff Trakk is also a different feel than the Rajan Cajan at SFA. The spins were much more smooth than the jerky spins on that ride. I wonder now that they have Laff Trakk will they move the Wild Mouse to another part of the Park to make way for a Boardwalk expansion. It would make sense at this point given how some might think Laff Trakk and the Wild Mouse are the same. Also right now Midway America has 4 roller coasters making it a little crowded. Side Note: Laff Trakk was not the only ride I had trouble getting on that I rode, Great Bear was another good example. The staff handled it very well. When I was having trouble getting on the ride the attendant said "You are not getting of riding that easy" and stapled me into the ride. Ended up riding a few more times b/c no one else was there!
  15. Pretty cool park. Looks like to be a young park it is huge and will only get larger. Best of luck!
  16. I think that with all the issues and failure of the last Sim City that the makers of the new RCT game are really being cautious and making sure that they get it right this time. Sim City and RCT3 both have similar communities in terms of customization and modding and they both came out around the same time. I think the new Sim City went wrong b/c their fans were pretty vocal about their displeasure with the direction the new game was going and the makers instead decided that they would ignore their core base and focus on what they wanted the game to be in hopes of expanding the market-- that proved to be a bad decision. On the other hand it looks like RCT is doing the exact opposite and they are responding to push back by making changes which will mean that the game will take longer to make but when it is done I feel like the community like the game more.
