  1. I've got to be honest. I have no issue with Flashback. It runs really smoothly and it's a fun ride. Goliath in every row but row 1 is garbage. I'll take Flashback any day. I'm not the biggest hater of Boomerangs either, as most of the time they're fine in terms of being smooth and not painful. What I really don't like is just that they're not that fun. I'd say that SF should replace all of their Boomerangs (including the GIBs) with Mr Freeze clones (even though it'll never happen) but in the case of SFNE, well, they sort of have two lol
  2. I'm of the firm belief that over the next 10 years SF should replace every single one of their standard Boomerangs with Mr Freeze clones.
  3. The VR does suck but a coaster breaking isn't unusual this season, even more significant stuff like this.
  4. Hit up the water park today to get some variety. About half the slides were meh but I did finally fill up my top ten waterslides with actually awesome rides now. First off, we went to the Texas Tumbler which is a fun little family raft ride. My favorite part of that ride is definitely the terrain usage as it basically stays around ground level for large portions of the ride. Next stop were the helix of death Whirlpool slide and Big Bender. Whirlpool's giant curved drop into a helix of death is very fun and Big Bender is nice but a little stuffy. Next stop was going to be Blowout and Twister, but I got a nice smack to the head midride on Twister so we skipped Blowout. Twister is designed for some very short people. Ouch. Next stop was Six Chuter which we had absolutely no expectations for. Wow. That thing is incredibly forceful. Banking is insane and even with a light weight between me and my buddy we ended up getting 90+ degrees on some of the turns. Next was Mineshaft which turned out to be even better. Take the forcefulness of Six Chuter and put it indoors, you get a huge sensation of speed plus it has some ridiculous airtime. Almost beat Wildebeest. Wow. Next we went to the Hill Country "fake airtime triple down" Racers. Still fun because you're racing but not anywhere near the insane airtime of Double Down Racers @ Schlitterbahn or especially Viper's Tail @ ZDT's. I can finally have a top ten water slides list and not a top seven (because I had been on more than ten but a bunch of them were lame)
  5. Yeah we were in a group of 2 and got assigned to row 4 on Superman Krypton Coaster... when there were only 2 people in the front row? what the hell just give us the front it's 4 across anyway you dingus ride op We asked for the front and they said no. Weren't even running VR at the time either (3:30-5:30 they turn it off)
  6. Yeah, IH is one of CP's beers but it seems like they put it in a position in which it could be a clue. Of course anything's a possibility at this point so who knows
  7. I hope we do get another coaster before SFStL... but hey I do need a reason to go back to SFStL as their current lineup is not that great but I do need more rides on AT and Eagle.
  8. I'm mixed about if it is a clue or not but RMC Mean Streak would be pretty much the best thing ever.
  9. Six Flags: New Texas Giant Herschend: Outlaw Run Cedar Fair: Millennium Force Independent: The Voyage and Switchback
  10. ^Start with Maverick (early entry if you have a Platinum pass or are staying at any of the CP properties). You're going on a Saturday in early August so if you can get FL+ that's highly recommended as it will be packed^100. I've heard even FL queues can get up to 30-45 minutes on the busiest days, and even on a totally dead day Maverick's normal line will be around that number as well. Valravn will also have a ridiculous line but everyone will be going to that first so wait until later to ride it. If you only have one day at the park and it's a Saturday I feel like FL+ is a must, even if you've already ridden many of the coasters, most of the ones you didn't ride are the ones that get full queues. If it's not in the budget, you can definitely get in a few rides, the ones I'd prioritize are Maverick (because it's one of the best rides in the park, up there with MF), Valravn (new hotness and also one of the top coasters at the park), and Dragster (self-explanatory).
  11. GCI and Gravity Group are very similar, I think either would be a good fit for the park.
  12. It depends on what YT BBcode you're using but I've found that there's usually something along the lines of "fullscreen=false" or "allowfull=false" or something like that. Haven't worked with HTML in forever but I know when I was working on adding a YT code to my forum there was something like that I had to remove. Should be in the html replacement of the BBcode somewhere, although some of the embed codes don't have it. I personally don't mind it, as I prefer going to the YT link directly anyway.
  13. ^Didn't SF cancel their ride rotation program after the recession?
  14. Granted, but Dorney gets #1 park. I wish that Cedar Point would get cloned and put in every major city.
  15. Water rides are interesting, capacity-wise. Since Schlittterbahn New Braunfels is less than 30 minutes from my house I get season passes there every other year (this is an off year sadly) and even on the most dead weekdays the big slides have decently long waits.
  16. There is a simple fix in the BBCode if Robb was so inclined but it's never bothered me- it's easier to just click on the link and watch it directly from YouTube anyway.
  17. I went on June weekdays and it was dead enough that it probably would have been fine to not use FL+, but we got FL+ the second day and it was awesome. Saved us the 90 minute wait for Valravn (according to the app) and the 30-45 minute line for Maverick. Even on less busy days it's nice to walk on to lower capacity rides, especially Maverick.
  18. -honorary spot for Lightning Rod here- 1. New Texas Giant - This ride is amazing. Great pacing, relentless airtime, and so much fun. No other ride I've been on has this sheer amount of airtime. 2. Outlaw Run - This ride absolutely never lets up, and yet despite its length it feels complete. The elements on the ride seem like they'd feel so unnatural but in reality they feel totally natural. It's amazing. This ride and NTaG are very, very close but I tend to lean towards Outlaw Run being slightly underneath. 3. Iron Rattler - This is an amazing ride, but feels too short compared to the others. Setting and terrain interaction are awesome though.
  19. That's literally garbage tier. wtf SFFT has been much better with VR operations averaging 2.5 minutes per dispatch when I was there. Why can't all Six Flags ops be like the SFFT ops?
  20. Why would you do that to yourself?! FP will make your life so much better. If you can budget for it, you really should do it!!
  21. ^most of my top ten woodies aren't top ten material. Only the top 5 are even in my top 20 at all.
  22. FL+ is awesome. Even on less busy days it's nice to know you can just do whatever you want and not budget any time for it.
  23. ^aw, that's no fun. I got to ride Maverick, Rougarou, Mean Streak, and (sort of) Millennium Force in the rain.
  24. My prediction is a GCI or Gravity Group style woodie near the Boardwalk/Power Surge area, but take it with a grain of salt because I've wanted one of those since forever
