  1. ^lol yeah, the only picture of it was an angle showing a side of one of the airtime hills and a loop that had to be like 15 feet in diameter. Any coaster remotely similar to that is probably up there for worst coaster though.
  2. ^ I love Voyage but I can totally see why some people don't. It's very intense and has fantastic elements (love the "true" floater air and insane banked turns) but the pacing is killed by the MCBR and if it was running rough it could totally be a headache machine. Luckily I found it to be one of the smoother woodies I've been on. Speaking of worst coasters ever, what was that one Chinese coaster with the triangular airtime hills and the ridiculously tiny circular loop and massive OTSRs? I remember seeing something like that on rcdb. It looked awful.
  3. Umm, have you ever ridden an RMC conversion? Most of the RMC conversions have been better than the majority of new rides to have come out in the last five years. And if anything, Mean Streak has some of the most potential for a great conversion of any wood coaster. Literally every coaster that I could think would have more potential then Mean Streak would probably be designs that are too classic or already good enough so that they would likely never get a conversion. (As in, The Voyage, Boulder Dash, and especially The Beast). Son of Beast may have actually gotten the RMC treatment, had that technology existed earlier. The problem was that Son of Beast was in such bad shape by the end that it would have costed over $20 million to do the conversion, which is basically the cost of a whole new coaster. With all that in mind, it made sense for Kings Island to start over with a different coaster. But as bad as Mean Streak's layout is, it has no major structural or design issues as far as we know. Mean Streak is almost identical to the old Texas Giant and NTaG is easily one of the best coasters I've ridden and RMC anything would easily be in the top coasters in the park up there with MF, Maverick, and Raptor.
  4. Most rides do the individual restraint/row thing. I know that Superman @ SFFT does it, and I'm pretty sure I've seen other rides do stuff like that before as well.
  5. I haven't been there but Kentucky Kingdom seems to be one of the best candidates for this. For where I have been, here are the parks that are under 20. Cedar Point (5): Millennium Force (1) and Maverick (4) Six Flags Over Texas (10): New Texas Giant (2) and ShockWave (8) Silver Dollar City (16): Outlaw Run (3) and Powder Keg (13) Kings Island (18): Diamondback (7) and The Beast (11)
  6. I haven't been to KK yet to compare but Fury and Afterburn are nothing to frown upon, now. Sshhh I'm trying to forget that Carowinds exists so I don't hijack a car or sneak on a plane or something to get there.
  7. This is coming from someone who hasn't been there, but KK might have the best one-two punch of any park out there, ever. Cedar Point might be the only other park I can think of with a better top two coasters overall.
  8. Here are my tiers for park food. Anything above typical is of the "not garbage" variety. 1. The "SDC Cinnamon Bread" Tier -includes the SDC cinnamon bread 2. The "Silver Dollar City" Tier -includes anything and everything at SDC as well as the Dollywood cinnamon bread 3. The "Most of the food at Dollywood" Tier -includes most of the food at Dollywood 4. The "Only Relatively Good" Tier -includes Old Blue's barbecue at SFFT, the food at ZDT's, and most fried chicken you find at amusement parks 5. The "Typical" Tier -anything not listed 6. The "Coasters Cheeseburger" Tier -includes only the burgers at the Coasters chain at Cedar Fair parks, specifically the one near Dragster @ CP.
  9. I'm fine with it as long as people follow the rules, which some people will inevitably not do.
  10. And that record would be what exactly? Most unlikely coaster
  11. I've never been on any standup. Will probably change with a Carowinds trip whenever I actually manage to get out there.
  12. The only assigned seating that's really all that bad is that on rides where the row you want to go to isn't full (the front row on a B&M and a group of two that asks isn't allowed to sit with the other group of two in the front row when they're the only ones there? wtf?) or if it's a coaster where it's only good in one row.
  13. Granted, but it's because every drop tower left is 20 feet tall.
  14. Ah, gotcha. Well, staying as long as possible should help. Prioritize stuff you haven't done this season, or just do what you want. If it's your home park then you'll get plenty of other opportunities to go, but do try and make the most of it.
  15. granted, it's an SLC. I wish that all Togos were demolished
  16. I like both, I think I prefer Coke because it's sweeter but that's by a tiny margin. Dr Pepper and root beer all the way (except Barq's root beer which is meh)
  17. Yeah, with being my home park I noticed. If it's your home park, you probably shouldn't need to worry about doing everything.
  18. Then prioritize and hope you get on everything as much as you'd like. Skipping Justice League should be a big time saver though. SFGAm is known for getting pretty much the worst lines of any SF park even on less busy days. You'll probably be able to do every coaster once but that's about it.
  19. Corkscrew (Cedar Point)
  20. Around here they don't know what the weather will be like in 10 minutes, much less a week from now Never listen to the forecast on Lake Erie more than about a day out, and even then it'll probably completely change by the next day.
  21. VR itself is meh, dispatch times are meh at SFFT and apparently awful everywhere else, yeah just get rid of it.
  22. I only have a select few things. I was totally going to get an Outlaw Run hat but never did (more reasons to go back to SDC), but anyway here's about where my collection starts and ends: -The Voyage T-shirt (bought while waiting for the ride to open back up after a random breakdown) -Valravn hoodie (it was my favorite shade of desaturated blue and the only article of clothing at CP I liked) -random Cedar Point napkins (we got it at a DQ that wasn't even on the peninsula but it had napkins with the CP logo and they ended up in my luggage so I kept them lol) might update with pictures at some point
  23. that's totally BS. In fact I'd almost say that even Intamin is more predictable in terms of "watch the POV and you know how the ride is" than RMC.
