  1. When I went on I was expecting it to rattle because of its high speed (much like Kingda Ka does) but surprisingly it was glass smooth. In the rain I imagine it would be life changing for better or worse, especially at night. You literally would have no chance to catch your breath. Also the only reason Fury would be smoother than I305 is because it's newer . Those quick transitions were designed that way, the two coasters are nothing alike, and they complete different purposes. If I had to group them I'd put Leviathan, Millennium Force, and Fury 325 in group A for focusing on speed, overbanks, and generally taking the rider on a journey. I'd put Steel Dragon 2000 in group B for focusing on airtime, and Intimidator 305 is also in it's own group C because of its unusual focus on staying low to the ground, maintaining a high speed, and very quick transitions. Different people have different preferences so that influences which "group" or which giga coaster you prefer.
  2. Honestly, if I305, Maverick, and the Giavanola hypers didn't exist, this whole discussion of B&M's being forceless wouldn't exist. Since we've been spoiled by those coasters which focus on sustained positive g's, we expect every coaster to fit the criteria. Well guess what? Not every coaster is focused on that. So if you're going to complain about hundreds of coasters being forceless, I suggest you ride one of the 4 aforementioned coasters. If not, then please don't complain about forceless coasters, it's getting really annoying. I'm sure the max 4 g's on most B&M coasters qualifies as "force".
  3. Maverick's intense so I'm not surprised people sometimes complain about it. Some people simply can't handle the intensity of it, much like Skyrush or I305 so they naturally complain. As for Raptor, the only complaint I've heard is the final jolt into the brakes which some people seem to like. By the way, as for the render take a close look at the element shaping; it's dead accurate. Most people who "leak" info can't quite get the shaping perfect and there are obvious discrepancies. With the recent rendering, I see no flaws.
  4. Sometimes I swear I must be riding different rides than everyone else... there's officially no coaster in existence that someone doesn't find rough. When I think B&M, the last thing I think of is a reputation for headbanging, even on most older rides. It's usually nothing serious, unless we're talking standups, but on the older B&M's it's noticeable. It's just that the restraint goes so high above your shoulders that they go up to your head which allows for some headbanging on quicker transitions which tend to be found on older B&M's. Nothing enough to seriously detract from the ride experience, but no headbanging is better than a little headbanging,.
  5. With the ridiculous amount of money and attendance CF is raking in because of CW lately, it's hard to imagine just how big the future is for CW. The future is definitely holding great things, specifically 2017
  6. Why hasn't this been done yet ? Or more importantly, why are there still no Intamin mega lites in the U.S.?! EDIT: I realize the answer to my first question is when you have a giga coaster with a lot of airtime hills you get an immensely expensive 8,000ft plus coaster called Steel Dragon 2000
  7. My homepark SFGadv was my favorite park until I was blown away by King's Dominion. It could also be CW but the last time I went was so long ago that I don't remember enough to accurately compare it to my homepark.
  8. I forgot where I saw it but I could have sworn an interview Sander Kernacs once said that Intamin is capable of adding inversions to their wooden coasters and that it is possible, but there is absolutely no demand for it; El Toro, their most recent installment, was back in 2006 when the idea of inversions on wooden coasters (other than SOB) was unfathomable. Nobody really wanted inversions on wooden coasters; nobody even realized how marketable it was and how much the GP ate it up until RMC came along and made it commonplace on their installations. Of course, Airtime>Inversions always and forever so I'm not exactly complaining
  9. I leave TPR for a day and I come back to 10+ pages to skim through! I already knew about the leaked layout, but I'm gonna take the time to post my thoughts. I expected a little more but I'm certainly not disappointed. The second half looks fantastic with the dive loop (new), the Zero G Roll thingy (new), the helix (new) and the airtime hill (new for a dive coaster of this scale). I can't believe I'm saying this but for once it's the first half that looks a little weak for me and uninspired. It seems they did the same thing they did with Sheikra and Griffon, and I was hoping they'd do something a little more creative. Still though, the second half more than makes up for it. It's funny because usually the first half of a B&M is stellar only to have a weak second half haha. Being the "Gatekeeper of the Marina", it's going to look ridiculously photogenic just like Gatekeeper was/is. I really hope they go for the 8 car trains with the vest restraints over the 10 car trains with the OTSR's, because IMO B&M's OTSRS's are horribly designed with much of the restraint surrounding your head, which allows for a lot of headbanging on older rides. The vests eliminate this problem, and I'd rather wait a little longer for a better and more comfortable ride experience. I think CP has a winner on their hands, it's going to be like Griffon and Sheikra (which are both fantastic coasters) only better in every way (minus theming). I hope I get to ride this one day!
  10. I wouldn't read too much into it, but it's interesting for sure that Shockwave was removed and the hyper is in it's spot. A hyper is also the one thing that would complete and solidify their lineup
  11. ^Have you been on it? Because everyone was saying that when it opened and as soon as they went on they shut up completely . It does have some crazy air on the first airtime hill and the drop is mental in the back, but it's not too strong in the airtime category
  12. From the looks of it, I'd say it's unfortunately one ride
  13. The only Batman clone I've tried is the Gadv one so I'm going off of that. It's a little rattly, but it's actually pretty smooth for a 22 year old coaster. The loops are forceful, the Zero-g rolls have this jerk to them, that first banked turn after the second loop is insane in the back, it's all just so crazy and out of B&M's character today. The wingovers do give you a little headbanging but that's because Stengel designed the older B&M inverts' wingovers to have lots of tension in the roll transitions so it banks really snappy and quick. I imagine it was a bit smoother in its prime, but in conclusion the Batman clones pack a punch for their size
  14. However, Canada's Wonderland was sorta the test site so to speak of the B&M hyper and Giga coasters, the first of both were installed there then installed in other parks. Back on topic, I doubt we'll be seeing virtual reality on the dive machine.
  15. I would WALK all the way to Hershey if they got an Intamin prefab (It's a 2 hour drive from here in NJ)
  16. ^^Yes, but the with orange track it's esentially, "is it going to CP or not"
  17. One of the reasons I'm excited for the announcement other than stats and the layout is to see the animation. I can't wait to see 3DVIP's latest work!
  18. Actually someone on KI Central (the link attached to one of the photos posted) did some guesswork based on the length of one piece and how many pieces he saw and he got ~315 ft. He's certainly wrong without exact measurements, but imagine that drop at that height!
  19. ^Also a nice catch, I never noticed that! Maybe they will use the giga coaster large lift spine on this one? Looks like B&M is trying new things... ^^haha, I also spent like 15 minutes going through a large amount of photos to make sure I was right and it seems I was. Lol dive machines are weird. Some of the newer ones have brake fins like Intamin's for example
  20. I'm terrible with remembering these type of things, help me out here? Carowinds' Fury 325 announcement was at like 9 or 10 in the morning so I actually had to wake up in the morning to watch (I'm used to waking up at noon during the summer ). I actually had to set an alarm to get up and I was a bit afraid I would miss it!
  21. Giga: I305 Hyper: Skyrush Hybrid: Wicked Cyclone Invert: Afterburn Wooden: El Toro Wooden 2: Boulder Dash Launched: Taron (Not built yet, I know). If not, then Maverick (with a retrofitted/fixed heartline roll) Anything 1: Kingda Ka Anything 2: Kumba Anything 3: S:ROS [sFNE] (NOT BIZARRO)
  22. I agree that Great Bear is underrated. It's forceful and unique, and that thing is *loud.
  23. It's definitely dive track. The sticker has the acronym DM which presumably stands for "Dive Machcine", but that could possibly be wrong. In addition, only Dive Coasters have 2 sets of antirollbacks on both sides (the other B&M styles only have one)
