We did the whole romantic/theme park honeymoon as well. We spent a week in Hawaii, and on the way back we stopped in LA for a week of Disneyland, KBF, and SFMM. Big Mistake. Hawii was awesome and very romantic. Only to be spoiled by a week in LA. Don't get me wrong, we loved DLR, KBF was fun, and SFMM was a lesson in heat exhaustion and traffic, but after spending the time in Hawii, it just paled in comparison. I have said many times that we should have skipped the week in LA for just 2 more days in Maui. Anyway, that was in no way meant to get you down. WDW is amazing and can be very romantic. If you can afford it, be sure to catch the Cirque show at Downtown Disney. This will definetly be a hit with the new missus. Also, If you can't convince her to do IOA, try for Sea World. My wife loves dolphins and it was a great time! We even did the "Dine with Shamu" which was pretty cool as well. (Actually if you can really afford it, do Discovery Cove, it looks like a ton of fun! (From Robb's videos at least...) Cheap tickets to IOA? Don't really know. I know last time we went we bought a 2-day never expire pass rather than the 3-day over 7days pass. We did both IOA and USF in one day and then came back the next year and used the second day to do both parks again. I don't know if they still have that one... Extra tickets? I would hit Blizzard Beach and Pleasure Island at least once... Congrats on getting married! And have fun on your trip. Don't take my first comments the wrong way, actually if we had done LA first then Hawaii, it wouldn't have seemed half as bad. It was just going from Paradise to...well...LA, was disappointing.

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
stew560 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Didn't you see the commercial? Mickey and Goofy and Donald were wishing for attractions from other parks... I really don't like that they presented it that way in a national advertising campaign. How many people would honestly know that the new rides were just copies from other parks? -
I'll miss 'em, but bye bye Old Folk... The whole bus montage was great, Merideth was getting so upset! I'm still rooting for Romber to win! But I too wouldn't mind Uchenna and Joyce either. Anyone but the supercouple...

How much do you make at your job?
stew560 replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Random, Random, Random
Agreed on the personal information... Let's just say I make somewhere between $25k and $100k... 8) It's enough to pay for a 2-bedroom apartment here in Jersey ($1150/mo), 2 car loans, 2 cats, 1 dog, and plenty of toys to play with! -
GAcoaster has a ton of pictures on his site AmusementPics.com. Especially the Wallpapers Page. Be sure to ask permission to use them first (But for a personal calendar, I'm sure he'll say it's fine...)

Queue-jumping for dollars
stew560 replied to shepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
But they do take an extra inch or two away from my legroom so that the people in first class can lie down. Just like Robb and Elissa said, this is America, and America is run on money. More money gets you better stuff and better treatment. While I don't see myself ever using the Gold Q-bot or VIP program, I am not against it. Hell if you want to go to an extreme, someone could rent out the entire park for the day (like some companies do) and if I made a 3 hour trip to the park without calling first or checking the website, only to find it closed, that sure as hell would inconvenience me as well. How about preferred parking? For an extra $5, I can park closer to the park, while everyone else has to walk further because they don't want to pay. I have EZ-Pass in my car, the addition of those lanes cause more traffic in the regular cash and exact change lanes. My $1 bi-monthly fee lets me drive right through at 50mph while people are waiting in line to pay their $0.35. There are tons of examples where paying for something lets you get something at the expense of others... Do the Q-bots really add that much to the lines? I remember well before qbots waiting in lines that were just as long. Hell, I waited 3 hours for B:TR once and I remember it being well over 2 hours for years before there ever was a Q-Bot. Paying for preference doesn't bother me. It's the people in "wheelchairs" that have 15 of their friends with them that get to me! An true injury with a friend or two is one thing, but when a whole crew comes up...give me a break. -

I love babelfish... btw - Robb...nice find! Elissa, thanks for sharing! I love this crap! This one: http://home.f01.itscom.net/spiral/yuuen/yuuen01.html (not still open) is the best with the before and after pics... This one: http://home.f01.itscom.net/spiral/doriran/doriran01.html is cool too with all the monorail pics... (Is that an Intamin 1st Gen Drop 6pics down?) -
Hybrids are a great idea if you want to save money on gas, but what is still unknown is the repair costs for the cars. Also, keep in mind that there have been reports that the batteries will need to be replaced after 100k miles at a cost of several thousand dollars. Plus you know you aren't taking this thing in to your "buddy who is a mechanic" when the "regenerative braking system" starts to have problems. Also, resale values are holding pretty well right now, but how will they be down the line? Hybrids are great, and I do like the styling of the Prius (my wife hates it), plus the newer ones that look no different is the way to go (Accord, Civic, Escape). But until we see the full lifetime costs of Hybrids, I'll stay away...

Personally, I have always been a fan of the Janesville City Busses & Transit System...

I hope the Cobolt SS has a much better interior than the base model. My friend had one for a rental and it had way to many rattles for a car that had less than 1000 miles on it. Plus all of the interior quality was nothing more than an updated cavalier. It really wasn't all that great. As for a supercharger being more reliable than a turbo...I think it's 6/half dozen. A supercharger is belt driven which eliminates turbo lag, but has it's own set of problems using a belt, plus you are sapping power from the engine to drive the engine harder, whereas a turbo is exhaust driven, which brings in lag, but you don't have to worry about belts. Both have moving pieces that can break. I will take a bigger, naturally aspirated engine over either anyday. (Gas mileage and all!)

Does anyone know "Maui Jim" Sunglasses?

Whoa -- Star Tours revamp?
stew560 replied to Three's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wasn't this always the rumor that it would be overhauled "after the completion of the prequels?" I remember all the hype that was it was going to be changed to a pod-racer type ride after Episode 1 came out. If this happens I will definetly welcome it! -
Yeah, but it's still a neon, a riced up neon, but still a neon none the less when it comes down to build quality, front wheel drive, interior materials, and styling. Interior materials is what drove me away from the WRX. I really wanted that car on paper, but as soon as I test drove it, I knew it would be tons of fun to drive, but not for my 45 minute commute every day, partially in traffic. That's why I chose the Mazda6. For $2k less, I got a much nicer interior, fold down seats, leather and a sunroof. All which were unavailable in '03. That is a perfect example of how actually Test Driving the cars can change your mind from what you have set in from reading reviews on the internet. Now the WRX was insanely fast and VERY fun to drive, as I am sure the SRT-4 is. Bottom line is, for the SRT-4's $20k you can get a much more reliable daily driver that does more than go fast in a straight line.

Out of curiosity... (RCT1 question)
stew560 replied to Three's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Finding LL alone would be tough, Amazon Resellers have it for sale new for ~$5 plus shipping... For RCT2, I just picked up the "Triple Thrill Pack" off eBay from these guys for $7 shipped. It works perfectly! eBay Auction -
...but it really is still a neon... ...and yes, Corolla very good!

Does anyone know "Maui Jim" Sunglasses?
stew560 replied to Hattuchili's topic in Random, Random, Random
I used to own a pair of Maui Jim's. $200 sunglasses and were the best pair I ever owned. (Stupid Hulk ate them when I didn't secure them! Now I just get $10 Wal-Mart Polarized Glasses, and don't worry about scratching or losing them!) You can check them out at Sunglass Hut. Another great brand (Still like $200) are Revo's. Good thing I've vowed never to buy expensive shades again! -
I love this stuff! They do things like this in WeirdNJ all the time. I have several bookmarks of cool sites at home, but here is one for NYC stuff: http://www.forgotten-ny.com/
