I like the latest Screamscape rumor better, an Intamin launched Bike coaster themed to That would be a much better replacement while ditching inversions. Since Comcast now owns Dreamworks, they can just clone HTTYD if they wanted to keep costs down and get a Mack Powered invert that's extremely family friendly as part of a Dreamworks land of a new 3rd gate at the newly reacquired land.

Obviously I'm not getting too excited about a Screamscape rumor but that would be absolutely awesome. Fifty cents that it's a Mack Powered invert like Arthur at Europa and How to...Dragons at Motiongate. Hopefully Mack pushes the thrill factor up a bit. What is really sad is that Uni will not sell Dragon Challenge off, they'll cut it up and scrap it. It would be a great relocation to a park like Wild Adventures, Magic Springs, Silverwood, Frontier City, Alabama Adventures,.ect, ect, ect. Even that new OWA park in Foley Alabama.

I wonder what the status of the construction of the new High speed train between Xi'an and Chengdu is. Is the Wanda park Xi'an under construction? -

I enjoyed my two night stay at the Starlux in June. It wasn't really "season" yet and it was over 200 a night. -

I visited the park on June 11th. It was mid 90's that day. I had read the comments about the lack of shade. It totally lives up to that reputation. They put zero effort into shade structure. Thank goodness, every thing was walk on or a two train wait, one could literally bake. All the misting fans at the spinning wild mouse would be good for is just basting you while in the oven. -

Look, I know I'm the resident Moreys nut around here but I must tell you that Moreys is not about credits, its not even about the coasters. If you drive all the way down to Wildwood to run around and get the coaster credits in an hour (which not to mention is not really even possible unless you're driving between the piers which is just dumb) you're doing Wildwood all wrong. Please do not waste one of those Golden Tickets on a two hour credit run. I mean, you get free water park access with those tickets! Plan for at least a full afternoon, if not a full day. There is so much to do. Many people will agree with me that Moreys is fantastic at night. Take a ride on the Giant Wheel and look out over the ocean. Do one of the waterparks. Ride some great flats - the flume, IT, the flyers, Atmosfear, Riptide, the sh*tty dark rides! The Great White is exceptional (IMO) while the other five coasters are fun but a little average. Wildwood is about great flats, boardwalk food, long bumpy rides on the tram car. Wildwood is about cheesy doo-wop themeing, amazing light packages, and a fantastic boardwalk lining a great big free beach next to the wide open Atlantic Ocean. Wildwood is about the smell of pizza-taffy-funnel-cake-french fries, seagulls trying to steal your ice cream, people watching half naked Jersey shore rejects trudging down the sand. And yes, there are some coasters to ride. But one does not simply visit Wildwood as a credit stop. And if you do wind up stopping in for a credit run, make sure to check the calendar as the three piers operating hours are different and could screw that all up for you if you show up first thing in the morning. And for the love of god - eat something on the boardwalk! As for advice on Great Adventure? Have a look right here at this handy guide. Did someone say something about the Pier at night? -

It seems that nearly all the queue will be indoors given the location of the station relative to the hill and the four levels of windows that you see on it. Just how much theming will be in it is my question but more importantly even with long waits it'll have AC. -
Ha! That was me. I was there with some friends from out of town. We also had a great lunch at the Water Street Grill in Yorktown, too. I had a suspicion! Too bad we didn't cross paths at some point. We actually ended up eating dinner at the place right next door (Riverwalk Cafe I think it was called?). Also, ElvisLuv, great pics! My wife was in charge of taking most of the photos, and ended up dropping her DSLR the very first morning, so she's been shooting mostly blind. Still have yet to go through all the raw images. Overall we had a great couple days down Virginia way, I hope I have the free time to write up a trip report soon. Definitely reconfirmed my suspicions that BGW is one of the best parks on the East Coast. In that area, we did Busch Gardens, Nauticus Museum in Norfolk, Mariner's Museum in Newport News, Jamestown Settlement and Historic Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country USA, Yorktown Battlefield and the the American Revolution Museum there. This was my "Didn't they learn anything from Pearl Harbor" moment, Four carriers in a row. Right to left, Ike, Washington, Lincoln, and Ford.

I almost thought that structure was a possible drop track building with one opening up top and one on the opposite end down low but that looks like a solid floor between the two. Could we see a show building that launches you back out in reverse and trick track? That could be where the spinning rumors come in. -
I want to give a shout out to the ride ops at Busch Gardens. It wasn't busy when I was there so they had a bit of leeway so the booth folks were very interactive with the riders. I even complimented one when I bumped into him when he was on break outside of the ride. He was having a ball sending out the trains on Apollo. It was a stark contrast to Hershey Park where everything was prerecorded and while the operators were efficient and very down to business, it was nearly Hilter Youth like. It wasn't me but I'll give the place a plug. It has a living history army camp and some nice pieces including the welcome banner and carriage for Lafayette. It is spotless and immaculate. I love how they used a recreation of a British Redoubt to act as a fence for the outside parts. Camp reenactment Cannon and musket demostrations

maybe to ease the pain of the restraints. Hearing folks bitch about the pain as they got seated for rerides was odd. They should rename it the Mellencamp, because it hurts so good. -

After having throughly enjoyed Switchback, I'm sure I'll love come March. I'm just waiting for Gravity Group to combine a corkscrew into a shuttle coaster like Switchback. -

Looks like they are living up to the concept art on the entertainment/shopping area outside of the park as well. I'll be interested in their yearly operating schedule, I know lots of people that hit up the area during off season times to take advantage of super cheap rentals. -
We hit up Busch Gardens on the 16th and 17th of June. Rides have been covered before but the beauty of the place just astounds especially after having visited Six Flags America and their hatred of trees. My coaster partner and I arrive, the Mom and son aren't big on inversions. The place is amazingly beautiful Listen up Silver Dollar City, not a fake plant around except inside queues. Lots of fun Damn it's hot Foooooooood More fooooood.

Given the height of the station and the deep trench down below, you might be on to something. Give it a Blue Fire length train that can be either stationary or free spin in certain parts of the track and you have the world's first spinning dive coaster with or without inversions or launches . Take a look at thunderation, it has a kid course lift hill to give it the juice to make it back to the station, this ride simply incorporates a launch instead to do the same. After finally riding g a drop track coaster with Verbolten, SDC needs one of those as well. Think of a revamped Fire in the hole with the bridge now being a drop track track and launch into a dark ride section. -
These folks run two successful malls, gasp, that's right successful. We can complain about their way of doing business but it's getting done and with a hell of a lot more included than the original plans had. Our plan is to leave from New York for a month long trip to Europe in Summer 2019, maybe I'll get to check it out.

Check out the Air +Space Museum at Dulles while there. Dulles is the red headed step child of the DC area airports but when they get to metro line finally built. It'll be a much less headache and attractive option to get to DC proper. Look for Norweigian to announce DC area TATL service in the next 12 months. Likely BWI cause they like Southwest towns (outside of JFK).

The Park at OWA Discussion Thread

Yeah, it seems like a nice place to visit. The first things I noticed about this park were it's proximity to that wood coaster at Waterville USA and it's proximity to the Flora-Bama which is a place that any good Parrothead needs to visit since Jimmy Buffet wrote a song about it. With the proposed expansion with rides included at Margaritaville Biloxi, Waterville USA and Now OWA, one could enjoy a nice trip down I-10. Too bad the place in PCB closed without it getting to build the GCI and the other end at Nawlins with Jazzland closed. There is the newer coaster at the zoo though.
