  1. Quick question: Is Ferrari World ever busy? Are there lines for Formula Rossa, should we expect lines for this coaster? Are they making a profit as a park? Just wondering because whenever I see photos it doesn't seem like there's a lot of people there waiting in line, visiting other attractions, or walking through the elaborate shopping center and spending money. I understand they're growing and trying to do what they can to bring people in, but if it's not busy, I wonder how long they'll be able to sustain and maintain such a huge atmosphere with the type of money they're spending on attractions like this.
  2. Puh-puh-puh-leeeeese don't do a dive coaster! I imagine if they do they will probably try to beat Cedar Point's height record... That being said I'd rather have a RMC single rail coaster that's not forceless and has some real airtime!
  3. First of all, I would never, EVER hop a fence to risk my life for a phone or anything that fell out of my pocket during a ride. That alone makes Darwin examples out of folks that hop fences, think they're invincible, and get killed/injured doing this crap. Second of all, if I was ever so stupid to hop a fence to get in a restricted area where my phone flew off during the ride (even though the phone was probably destroyed upon all recognition and operation anyway), at the very LEAST, I would be smart enough to know the course, watch the train go by, THEN know I have about a 30 second gap to go searching for my phone, then finding a safe spot away from the path of the ride. The problem is the very little knowledge all of the GP and most everyone has about coasters (which is remarkable to me, because really it's all so simple and logical). It's the same situation with the asshat at the Six Flags Batman ride who got decapitated to go get his hat! ARE YOU REALLY THAT DUMB? With 2 train operation, you had a 60 second gap to get your stuff, were you really that stupid to not time out your approach between trains? Or hear the roaring inverted B&M train going through the course? It's not like these B&M inverts are SILENT!! They're loud as all hell breaking loose continually throughout the circuit! These dumbasses have absolutely no perspective on reality or are on drugs or something to be this brain dead. Hopping a fence to get into a restricted area where roller coasters are running has no defense against a park that has been doing this stuff for years.
  4. Being a season pass holder I got an email today regarding the Six Flags dining pass. Apparently, until Saturday, a dining pass is only $50. My only issue is it says you get get lunch and a snack, where as from I recall the other dining passes let you get lunch, a snack, and dinner. I'm actually not a big fan of these things as I'm not a big "food" person when it comes to rather unhealthy Six Flags food options, but I'm wondering, has anyone else gotten this email or does anyone else have info as to whether this is a regular food pass at a discount that would include dinner, or is this a cheap-o discount that would only include the lunch and snack option? Also interested to see if any other pass holders got this email as it hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread.
  5. Dude! What a great way to break open the SWL photo update! With things the way they are now! It's gonna be AMAZING to see how things change over the next couple years, and photos like this are going to be fun to compare. Thanks to the guy who took time to share them, and then thanks for sharing them here. It's going to be interesting to see how things change.
  6. I think a B&M flyer or RMC remake of Mean Streak would be the next logical step for Cedar Point. The only problem is RMC makes airtime filled coasters that are not forceless, so my bet would be for Cedar Point to get a B&M.
  7. I'd rather they put off the Tatsu paint job, because if they painted it now it'd have to be blue like every other freakin' thing that's getting painted in the park.
  8. Yup. In fact I've had multiple rides, sat in the very back seat, and kept waiting for airtime that never came. Just high speeds with elements that seemed to meander through the course. Such a shame considering the size, popularity, and beautifull iconic design. Hopefully Valverononomonemen will provide some ample airtime! Its looking good so far!
  9. Wow, they read my mind! I did NOT like that blue on the loop. I'm so glad the loop is just going to be all white, I thought it looked kinda strange with the blue, especially after it's just been white after all this time. While I'm fine with the other supports being blue, I really like how the white loop pops with the rest of the background. I also think it'll brighten up a lot better at night with the lighting they're going to be putting around the loop which I'm sure will look great, even if it's only for a year or so lol.
  10. Not a fan of blue thus far on Revolutions loop.
  11. I remember the fountains/waterfalls not only near the queue, but at the last helix near the Carousel working and running. I think they took that away once Tatsu was built. To be completely honest, I LOVED THEM! They were a very nice "Mountain feeling" part of the queue that made kind of a serene atmosphere. There's something about water themeing that is majestic and nice. I know the ride is old, I know they're doing what they can to restore the ride, but I was sad to see the water element leave the last helix, and I'm sad to see it leave completely now. However, the fountain area in the queue area had not been working for at least a decade. While I definitely think the "drought" reason is an excuse considering they have Roaring Rapids and Jet Stream in the park, with a water park next door, I'm sure continuing to run those kinds of things were an immediate, and long term commitment to maintenance and upkeep that this park just hasn't been interested in incorporating the last decade. In fact if Valencia falls wasn't smack dab at the entrance of the park, I have a feeling they would have done away with it similarly in a way they did with the water area located where the (now being taken down) Batman Theater is. It's really a shame what a magical place the park was (or appeared to be) with little details simply made with water effects. Once you get past the main plaza, the park feels less like a mountain, and more like a desert.
  12. I drive by this all the time. Basically reminds me of a permanent carnival, like Silverado Days. Interesting to hear about that mini S&S tower. Imagine if parks only made them 100 feet tall, but much, much more entertaining with the airtime and whatnot. Instead of being the semi-bore they are, they could be a very cheap but very entertaining ride!
  13. I wouldn't bet on that. Fortunately for the park, unfortunately for SFMM park goers, in my experience big openings at other parks have rarely affected the crowds that decide they want to visit Magic Mountain. While big ticket items bring crowds for other parks, locals decide to go to Magic Mountain with their friends to get on the mega-coasters, and that's it. I personally would avoid the park on President's day.
  14. What I don't get either is these days with RMC you see such simple, basic, wooden with steel supports. Then you look at a ride like Batman & Robin which has a completely steel track and supports, and it's absolutely LITTERED with supports from every which angle. I mean, not only would that be a pain in the ass to design and build, but think of the cost of all those resources for what we would consider these days a very basic, simple layout for a ride. I mean in some areas the layers of supports are so thick you can't even see through them!
  15. For whatever reason I never thought or knew that about the B&M inverts! Also, very strange that Morgan wouldn't use the trailered trains on Wild Thing. Searching around a bit, Desperado, and reputably rough as hell coaster (from personal experience as well) also does not have trailered trains. One question: I don't think I've ever been on a Morgan coaster, but they seem poorly designed, over-engineered support wise, and have clunky POV's with little to no airtime. The rides that come to mind are Steel Dragon and Mamba. Is Morgan done as far as coasters? Are they out of business? Doing a quick Wiki search it looks like they've done nothing since 2004? With coaster companies like B&M and Intamin around, I really wonder why some parks would have gone with Morgan when they seemed so technologically behind.
  16. 1) I have no problem with people bragging about going on VIP Tours. I actually never even noticed it, maybe that's why I'm not butthurt about it? I did it 2 times, both at USH for HHN and it was 1000X worth it! Yes, I get "waiting in line" can be a fun part of enjoying the park, but not waiting in line and going on everything can be fun too! 2) TPR posts updates day in day out about ERT Time and special ride times and trips around the world constantly, which I assure you, cost more than any "VIP Day" at a park...and yet nobody complains to Robb or other members that they're "bragging" about their trips, or that "not everyone can afford" to do something like that. So whats the problem with 1 guy that enjoys the VIP tours? Pot. This is kettle. 3)) Not being able to pick where you'd like to sit anytime during a tripe to a park (except the last couple trains of the night because at some point the ride ops need to go home) is absolutely absurd. YOU'VE PAID FOR ADMISSION! You should be able to sit WHEREVER YOU WANT! Not to mention, how many people actually ask if they can sit in a certain row? 2 every 100-200 guests? I've been a ride operator for almost a dozen roller coasters and rides, and not ONCE, NOT ONCE!, was it ever an issue to let folks sit where they wanted on the ride. They paid for admission, they waited an hour in line, let them sit where they want! Last but not least, Valvelineonemonemonein looks forceless and should have had better elements after the MCBR LOL!!! Thanks for the photo updates fellas!
  17. Dude. Take a freakin' joke. F**k, some of you can be so annoying! Moving on, Disneyland continues in popularity and rises in numbers despite the rise of ticket prices because the people who were young about 20-30-40 years ago now have good jobs and money to be able to afford to buy annual passes or visit the park regularly. Not only that, they have kids that they want to bring to the park like they did when they were young. Throw Star Wars and Frozen and other popular movies into the mix, and it's really not a mystery. People can bitch about DLR's ticket prices all they want, but the fact is can you imagine what crowds would be like if it was $75 a ticket? It would be downright insanely crowded! I'm a capitalist, and as far as I'm concerned DLR should keep raising admission prices until they see a drop. I'm guessing right now in 2016 they would peak/start to see a decline at a $150 DL or CalAdv single ticket, or a $200 park hopper for the day. Disneyland is consistently known for its fine customer service, quality attractions, and enjoyable atmosphere. People in Orange County and LA have NO PROBLEM paying a higher price to enjoy entertainment, food, and attractions- especially if what they get is worth what they pay. Me and the girl had a premium pass for a couple years and I can honestly say not only did we never regret the very affordable monthly payment, we never regretted taking a night out to visit the park and spend some money in the parks on either dinner, alcohol, entertainment, or treats, as well. Sure some days/nights were busier than others, but just getting out to get on a ride or 2 and watch some fireworks or shows was very nice, and we both enjoyed it tremendously.
  18. lol what the heck?! Looks like a neck breaker! It also looks like part of the train broke during the circuit? I...think I'd ride it?
  19. Aw man! How come there's no Budweiser in his hand?!
  20. ^Its still up if you search Flying Dinosaur Universal. This looks like one of the best B&M flyers to date. However I still think Tatsu wins out simply because of the unprecedented elevation change and high flying due to surroundings. However as far as inspired layout, elements, etc., this looks like a very very fun ride.
  21. If anything, I find posts like this IMMENSELY more annoying and bitchy sounding than any post where someone suggests ways the ride could have been improved. Nobodies bitching except you. Merely supposing an alternative to "what is" is discussing roller coaster ideas on a roller coaster forum. Get over yourselves, the over-dramatics are absurd. I don't think there's a person on this forum that wouldn't take a ride on Valverononemomenener anyway, so I don't understand why anybody's getting their panties in a bunch.
  22. Wait...why are people hating on someone for suggesting B&M and/or CP could have been a little more creative with the 2nd half of the ride? I also don't understand why anyone who thinks the ride "could have" had a little more to it is all of a sudden complaining? Because that's simply not true. To be honest, I think a less steep drop, allowing a quick tap of the MCBR --instead of a full on Goliath-esque stop-- leading to a floater hill, then guiding into something like an immelman, would have dramatically improved the 2nd half of the ride. From there they could have done all the low speed turns they already have in the ride. Does that make me a complainer? I only wish Cedar Point and or B&M would have avoided the cookie cutter 2nd half meandering like every other B&M dive machine or B&M built in the last 10 years has done. Am I saying therefore since the ride doesn't have this it sucks and I would prefer it be burned to the ground? NO! Yes, it's a B&M Dive Machine. Well lookie that, it HAS it's dive! After that, it can pretty much do whatever it wants.
  23. Oh man I saw that Tampico Tumbler in the Nick Universe and it brought me back to Knott's! Quite possibly one of the greatest flats EVER made! So much fun with such a simple concept. If I'm not mistake, I think it had a reverse mode as well! Can't believe so few of them were ever made, it was truly a great ride! The girls I used to ride with liked it a lot too because it provided a lot of airtime, but it wasn't too scary, just a lot of fun.
  24. Well let's be honest it's no shocker that it'd be a pain in the ass to maintain. Just look at the way the ride operates and moves and it's obvious to see that there'd be tremendous amounts of wear and tear on the ride resulting in lots of replaced parts and downtime, especially after hitting a decade old. That spot for flats just can't seem to get a break! Gosh I remember when Hammerhead was there. I think I liked that ride better as a matter of fact.
  25. I think they bought that blue in a huge bulk unknown to any park before it. From some updates I've seen, any new paint has blue being the majority color.
