  1. Had Xcelerator been closed, I would have honestly been more bummed about Xcelerator's closure than X2. I enjoyed X2 but due to its shakiness, it isn't that rerideable. Hoping Apocalypse is ready for us next weekend! (Wow, it's getting close!). For those who still need the credit, here's to an excuse to head back to SFMM next season
  2. I only bother riding roar once...as a courtesy ride. I can best describe Roar as riding down this:
  3. Log ride haunts felt like it were something struggling along to be honest. In 2008/09 as Camp Gonnagetcha it had the weakest scares. Why? The logs move along the lower flume too quick. Same with Black Widow's. It was funny though, we crammed 5 of us (max capacity) in a log when we were flying through way too fast (and we had a flooded log too...wet & smelly shoes to be had!). Was more of a challenge for talent to get us/startle us. Also I have fond memories of doing Black Widows on a rainy Haunt night in 2010... I do wonder if Logger's will still be running during Haunt.
  4. I'd definitely expect Saturday and Sunday to be quite busy. A similar weekend, Memorial Day Weekend I went on a Monday where crowds were much lighter...since the following day was a work/school day. But yea, expect crowds for Saturday and Sunday! The kids areas shouldn't be too bad plus there's always animal exhibits they will enjoy. Only frustrations will be navigating the park with its narrow paths and what I dealt with, countless super-wide strollers to dodge.
  5. While Haunt may not have Black Widows Cavern, they have something completely bizarre going in at the AFX theater. I'm not sure if they're replacing Happy Feet or finally using the other side...but I'm going to guess and say it's replacing Happy Feet and will be running during day. Funhouse Express seems to have a family-friendly appeal to it. Here's the trailer:
  6. Don't get me wrong, but I'm actually more impressed with RMC's Outlaw Run. The main highlight of YAG (Yet Another Goliath) is that inverted Zero G hill. While inversions are still new to the wooden coasters, (in my opinion) there isn't much really inspiring to the layout.
  7. I'm trying to figure out where we all thought the park would be in full op... I'm well aware that winter time means scaled back operation, much needed ride rehabs *cough*Roar*cough* and so on...at least that's what makes sense to me.
  8. And unfortunately, the north bay is known for its more significant amount of rainfall compared to the rest of the bay...as in the storms usually hit there first while the rest of us in the central and South Bay get the outskirts of the said storm. So, we shall see how many closed days SFDK ends up doing due to inclement weather. I wouldn't mind a foggy ride though on Medusa, Sky Screamer, or Superman
  9. This is quite exciting to fully have no off-season (clarifying myself here...as in, park not fully closed). I have done SCBB in February under limited operation (Rode Dipper) but now having a 2nd 'year round' park is even more awesome! Can another Bay Area park take hint now? Tsunami Soaker...sounds like a complete unacceptable amount of wetness, something SFDK needs. Currently CGA has the superior water ride collection with the log flume, spill water, and rapids...not to forget Boomerang Bay. This gives 1 more water attraction for SFDK-goers to enjoy (and help spread the crowds among the park's other 2 water rides.
  10. Or if we want to compare to my NL version (Now realizing some tweaks to do yet again on this)
  11. That's an awesome photo of the coaster! At first I thought it was the rendering but it's real!
  12. Grizzly pretty much puts me to sleep. Combine it with lethargic operations to go with a lethargic ride... But I guess it's a good way for the young ones to get their feet wet and ride their first large scale family ride. It was my first big coaster.
  13. And I thought WJ (which couldn't jam wind at all) was awesome at the time (1998, still a GP then). At least if it is Wind Seeker, it will be out of Osha's death grip.
  14. Of what I've been on, I will have to go with Gold Striker. It feels so bizarre going down a fully enclosed drop, then what feels like firing out of a cannon as I fly through the rest of the course.
  15. Calling it now: Mack Twist 'n Splash either named Aqua Twist or Tsunami (or Sewer Soaker?)
  16. Awesome! It does look like it has a ways to go though before it opens. Are they making adjustments to the trains?
  17. It wasn't Revolution, seriously? I'm pretty sure it was Riddler and Scream that were switched, but I'm not sure which way. I wasn't saying that Rev was for ERT. I was just making a "What if" statement...as in what if we had Rev for ERT...and who could endure the wrath of a neutered Schwarzkopf ride. Tried that, tried sticking hands between restraints and head (to cushion the blow), tried sticking head forward...pretty much all the above but didn't work. And that final brake run wasn't coming soon enough.
  18. ^You think anyone could endure Revolution ERT? If that were the case I can already feel the throbbing headache now
  19. Those who haven't gotten a chance to ride this type of ride, you're in for a nice treat! It's quite bizarre and intense. Yes, this thing has 2 moments of ejector airtime followed by being pinned in your seat suddenly. Yea, it's pretty crazy actually...and don't let it's 12-passenger car fool you, lines should move pretty quick!
  20. So are we safe to assume Apocalypse will be back up and running for WCB? X2, I'm a little concerned about though. Only time will tell at this point.
  21. When I went to Knott's back in April, it was running 1 train. With how quick the ride was length-wise, the single train didn't really bother me. Not saying that Xcelerator crew was slow or anything but I kind of feel like I'd be spending just as much time waiting in the brakes (in 2-train op) as I would be waiting for the next cycle (in single train op).
  22. Yup, that's Luna's normal sleeping position. I don't see how she finds this comfortable but she does...
  23. Yesterday at CGA, we were walking up Grizzly's exit to get a view of Haunt construction when a couple groups snobbishly ask other members in their party: "Why are they walking up the exit?" What I wanted to ask was whether if it concerned them or not.
