  1. My bet is on a Dive Coaster as well. I can see it wrapping around the sky tower as part of its run. I think the wave theme would fit in great as well. Got my fingers crossed!!!
  2. Hey coasterbill how bout stop all the negativity? For real
  3. Looking at the master plan picture and the recent google maps image, it looks like the old hospitatily center is staying. I wonder what they're going to do with it?
  4. That sucks to hear Ghostrider is already down for maintenance, I'm going this Saturday and was hoping to ride the new version for the first time. Oh well I guess that's what I get for going during the off season.
  5. Looking at the launch concept art it does look like this will have the same restraints as Tempesto. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. I'm not the biggest fan of FullThrottles knee restraints. How do the two compare?
  6. The real question that comes to mind is will this ride actually get approved to be built?? I realize it's part of the master plan, but I do remember how hard of a time they had getting Atalantis built and the entire reason manta is only 30 feet was to make getting approval much easier. This must be why they are announcing the ride so early..... It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months, being a San Diego native and current resident I know how difficult it is to get any major projects built!!
  7. I never thought it was possible for SWSD to build a coaster of this size so it's definitely a welcome addition. I've never ridden one of these but I'm excited to try it out. The main thing that this announcement gets me excited about is that we will probably see more coasters in the future at the SD location!!
  8. A sky rocket 2 almost seems inevitable due to the 150 feet that's being reported. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't think of too many rides that are 150 feet that feature inversions that aren't B&M's and those are definitely not compact. I'm hoping I'm wrong but I guess we will have to wait and see.
  9. At what point in that video do they mention this attraction?
  10. Sounds interesting, I wonder if they're going to try and get the 30 foot height restriction removed for this project. I'm really hoping they do, although getting anything approved in San Diego is like pulling teeth!!! I really am intrigued to see what this ends up being!!!!
  11. Looks incredible!! Enough said
  12. That same jump over the steets was done with ghostriider.... so anything is possible
  13. I too have nostalgia for montezumas revenge and would be sad to see it go, but that rendering kinda makes sense in a lot of ways. A hyper is going to need a long stretch of land for the lift and other elements and taking Monty out fits this need. Plus, the fact that the "coaster run"has been moved to magic mountain due to construction kinda makes you think the front of the park will be under construction.... maybe the entrance will get a makeover too?? Just a thought
  14. I'm not familiar with the coaster run, where about in the park did the course go through?
  15. Interesting article, but I don't really see how investing in roller coasters would benefit SeaWorld San Diego considering they can't really build anything over 30 feet tall. I'm all for a bunch of Mantas but just don't see it in the cards. Maybe they should sell the San Diego park to Disney.....
  16. They will never add an extension on to xcelerator, how is this even a discussion?? Stop just stop already!
  17. Sad to see SeaWorld SD continue to drop, hopefully it turns around this year!
  18. It's also being rumored that Boomerang will finally close and be demolished in the next year or so. That would open up a pretty big plot of land with riptide recently being torn out. Please let it be a new major coaster!!!
  19. With a height restriction of only 30 feet makes you wonder what kind of ride can they build with a "thrill factor" that's not a launch coaster! Any thoughts??
  20. This is the worst thing Disney has done at their parks, here's hoping this is just temporary!!!!!
  21. I'm confused, is the new coaster for the San Diego park or another park?
  22. What kind of ride concepts do you think we're looking at here for the two new rides. The amount of land this is taking up, I'm betting one of them will be some kind of track based ride, or at least I'm hoping. Whatever they are, Disney is going to pull out something insane!!!
  23. If you look at Google maps, it appears the land that big thunder ranch and bascially a good chunk of everything behind it are gone, I think toontown stays for some reason as it is still a popular part of the park... But who knows it could get the chop too!
  24. Maybe I missed it in there, but did they mention when this will open for either park?
  25. Whatever they do with Ghostrider, I'm really hoping they get rid of the trim brake just before the second half of the ride. When you used to go into that drop with speed it really was amazing. The whole ride was amazing back in the day, relentless!!!
