What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

front row rollo coaster idlewild -
^ Glad you enjoyed Shivering Timbers. It really is a underrated ride. The parks main draw is its massive sprawling waterpark. The park is really lacking thrilling flat rides. I also agree that Thunderhawk is out on an island by its self. They really need to connect the midway from Wildcat to Thunderhawk

Grsupercitys quest for coaster credits
grsupercity replied to grsupercity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We have 3 little kids. One turning 1, one turning 3 and one turning 5. So we hit a series of kid friendly parks. We visited Sesame Place, Dutch Wonderland, Delgrossos, Lakemont and Idlewild. Our First park was Sesame Place. This was my most anticipated park. Turned out to be my least favorite. Felt like a big parking lot. Oscars Wacky Taxi was the ride I was looking forward to the most. It was closed. Operator across the midway told me it was staffing which I find it hard to believe you close your biggest ride for staffing. When we went to ride Vapor trail we were turned away upon boarding since my daughter isn't 3 yet even though she's 37 inches tall. That and oscars put a bad taste in my mouth. When we returned later we boarded no problem so we got the credit. Actually a fun forceful little family coaster. We saw one show that was decent that the kids enjoyed. Park had a nice selection of flats that were very accommodating to different heights and ages. My oldest really wanted to see Big Bird that we never were able to find. We did Dutch Wonderland the same day. This ended up being my favorite park of the trip. Great atmosphere and shade. Lots of quality rides and the dinosaur island was great. Kingdom coaster was a decent coaster and Joust is a big dipper that I am very used to with my home park having the same model. Merlin's Mayhem ended up exceeding my expectations. The seats and restraints were great. Very comfy and open. The ride only had a slight vibration and had a fun little layout with some nice on board audio. The park is loaded with transport rides. A train, monorail and skyride. Loads to do for the whole family. I wish we had more time at this park and didn't split the day at Sesame place. They both could have had a whole day Delgrossos was the nice day. Charming little park. Main road seperated the dry side and waterpark with a crazy long bridge over the road. Only park I have ever been to where the water park opened before the dry side. We did not know that going in and were surprised when none of the dry side rides were operating at opening lol. Dry side was very shaded with a huge kiddie area. The park also had a nice selection of large thrill rides including a larson drop tower! The coaster selection was okay with a wacky worm that was actually smooth and a zamperla spinning coaster. The water park was very modern and fresh looking. We ate at the award winning restaurant and was very impressed with it. I had fresh spaghetti and the rest of my family had pizza. Later that day we did a stop at Lakemont for the world's oldest roller coaster leap the dips. We all enjoyed it. Bouncy little ride. Love the minimal restraints. Skyliner was sadly closed. We finished our trip the next day at Idlewild. Interesting park. We arrived 20 minutes before opening just to sit at the parking kiosks until the official park opening. This park did not have a normal entrance. Some parts of the park had rides clustered together and others were very drawn out. Loved all the play structures and other kid activities. Waterpark had some tube slides that kids under 42 inches could ride. That was very nice. Also I heard rumors that this park has beer jail which it does not. Wild Mouse was a fun mouse with some wicked turns, a funky lift hill and some pops of air. Still not as good as arrow mice or wild chipmunk at lakeside!!! Rollo Coaster ended up being one of the best coasters of the trip. Smooth fun little ride that gains speed as it goes down the hill. This park was the worst for merch. I would recommend these parks to any family with young kids with Dutch Wonderland being my favorite! -

So excited for a 2nd chance hyper gtx -
false. Kentucky Kingdom is better. Both are fun in there own respects. Holiday World I think is the only park I have been to where I preferred the water park to dry park. They have an impressive collection of water coasters. Get a couple laps on Voyage, ride all the others coasters for the credits and then spend the rest at Splashing Safari. Kentucky Kingdom on the other hand has 3 coasters that can be marathoned along with a very impressive collection of flats and lots of alcohol!

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Valleyfair has the weakest waterpark in the chain. If they get it on par with the others in the chain you might be more tempted to visit it. I feel like this is gonna finally be the year some of these small parks get love. -

I love Nighthawk. The sensation of laying on your back while going through a vertical loop is incredible
