  1. Almost a month after the planned opening date and no real word on when this will open or even what is going on with the ride. Definitely a disappointment but hopefully the park or RMC can at least say something soon.
  2. Honestly the track wasn't banked because the trains provide their own banking. The main flaw was that the track was still getting the force from the train and it was not being applied to the track properly without track banking. I never rode it obviously but from POVs it looked like a pretty awesome ride. In terms of design flaw though, yes that was probably their biggest disappointment, but that is bound to happen in innovation especially before computers.
  3. I have come to the conclusion that my torso and the rest of my body is shaped perfectly for Arrow trains and OTSRs because I never really have any comfort issue on Arrow creations. I absolutely love Vortex, Carolina Cyclone, Ninja (Vekoma but has Arrow trains. It is getting the vest treatment anyways), Demon (CGA), and loved both Double Loop (Geauga Lake) and Great American Scream Machine (SFGAdv). Just to name a few.
  4. Vortex is one of my favorite Arrow coasters. Long live Vortex!
  5. The path covers definitely turned this into something really cool already. Now it looks like the real park. Very cool.
  6. I really want to get to this park! Definitely in my plans for the future. Thrilled to hear about the upcoming news!
  7. Definitely try it again and sit in the middle of any car. The middle of the last car provides some airtime similar to what you experienced on Cyclone (except smoother and more sustained, but still ejector worthy). I think you will find the ride to be one of the best in the park in that seat. You will still feel a few jolts in the track at the bottom of the hills after the turn around but nothing painful. Georgia Cyclone is an ejector monster in the back car, especially at the point you mentioned. The progression from RMC topper track, to new wood, to old wood is disappointing as you go through the ride though.
  8. Sounds like an awesome quick visit! Where did you ride on GASM? The middle row of any car is fine, and the front of any car is almost as smooth as the middle, but the back row of the cars are horrendous. I usually ride front of the first car or front of the back car and both usually produce great airtime filled rides that are only slightly rough at the bottom of a few hills. I will admit it runs better later in the day usually though. I always ride bad experiences on GASM surprising as I find it to be one of the smoothest wooden coasters in the chain.
  9. I've actually grown really fond of water parks. Obviously the dry park and coasters is more important to me but I now try to factor in time to enjoy a water park as long as it seems like a worthwhile water park. Some of the water park experiences I've had have really enhanced my visit to a park and turned the experience into a lot more than I expected. That's why I always try to find time to check them out. As for water rides in dry parks, I absolutely love log flumes and the more realistic larger Rapids rides. Don't care for boat chute types unless they are unique.
  10. ^I was hoping we would get a name and details on the track work, any new themeing, pics of the train, something. Oh well! Still nice to see. I kind of hope they keep the Ninja theme and name but with the new color it makes sense to change it I guess. I just hate to see the cool entrance sign with the ninja statues go to waste.
  11. LOVE! I want one in my backyard please.
  12. I went when it was in the mid to high 40s with rain and everything was open without any lines. It was great, just very cold...
  13. I love Vortex and Demon so I hope Vortex gets the convert to floorless for comfort reasons and Demon gets vest restraints. Demon was a surprise hit for me! The only coaster I see no point in is Grizzly, but even that I would rather see them keep while adding a new coaster. The more the merrier for a park that has lost 3 coasters in the past 15 years.
  14. Flight Deck's station was miserable when I was at the park and it was 95 degrees that day. It actually physically hurt to stand there for 10 minutes. This is coming from someone who lives in the deep south where it is that hot for months and way more humid. A cover is inexpensive and would increase customer satisfaction enough to justify it in my opinion. I love open stations on cooler days with gorgeous weather but that's about it!
  15. I just wanted to jump in and say both water coasters are better than most actual coasters and Wildebeest is the better one in my opinion. I still don't know how that kind of airtime without seatbelts is even legal.
  16. SO glad Goliath is back to 2 trains. Sundays are always better than Saturdays. Still busy but the first 2 hours are great. I went a few Sundays ago and Great American Scream Machine was walk on with empty rows and endless re-rides for the first 2 hours. Waiting patiently for the official announcement on Ninja coming today! (We basically already know most of it but still).
  17. ^The neighborhoods around the park are not that great, but luckily the park is pretty walled in between I-20 and the Chattahoochee River, and in all honesty the access road between the park, your hotel, and Wendy's, is just fine. There will be enough people from the park around. If you left the park late it might be a bit sketchy but generally that road is populated with people and not really a part of the community. It's almost as if Six Flags owns the road. A few people did get shot at the MARTA bus station there a few years ago. Overall I've done the walk to Wendy's many times and felt completely safe. What I do not suggest is venturing off beyond these places, especially late at night. There really isn't much to walk to anyways. Also, if you aren't in the mood for Wendy's, there is a big complex that just opened beside the Wendy's that is a mix of a gym, food, and even games I think. I really don't know what it is all about or if you need a membership to go in but it is kind of like a food and activity "mall" of sorts.
  18. Awesome! They looked so far from done 2 weeks ago. Glad it is open in time for Spring Break. Is the interior completely different now? I loved the old south details in the finishes of that place.
  19. I'll try to answer your questions in the order you posted them. I go to the park way too much so hopefully I can provide more insight! I would drop your bag at the hotel. The park is probably safe but the hotel is better. If it does come down to the minute and you don't want to waste time, you can try the park. The lockers are safe as far as I know. The all day fee for the large lockers are $15 I believe. The normal ones are $13. That is if my memory serves correct. I never use them. I don't know if Flash Pass is cheaper online, but you will most likely want one. I highly doubt the park will be empty. It has consistently had 2 hour lines on Saturdays. If you get Flash Pass first thing you will probably miss out on Cyclone and Scorcher if they are open early. They open between half hour early and opening, so it really depends on the day. They aren't always ready early. DDD - Run here first and don't use your Flash Pass if you are within the first 20 people there. This is only if you get to the park for rope drop (rope drop is just past Scorcher entry at the tunnel that goes below the railroad). You only get one ride on DDD and only with Platinum, so if you can save it I would consider doing that. If there is any line at all skip DDD and come back later (but expect to wait up to 30 minutes with Flash Pass still). There is a very likely chance DDD won't be running right at opening and if you wait, you will miss out on all the rides without lines. DDD is a great ride. Very smooth. Almost too smooth that it lacks some thrill. It's a brief ride but the inversions pack force and the barrel roll has solid hang time. I do not know what the upcharge is here but I think that has been newly implemented so the Flash Pass might not run down the exit ramp and take 30 minutes like it did the last time I was there. Since Mind Bender is a star attraction (and you will love it, possibly more than Goliath) I would go there next. Yes it has Flash Pass entry but that brings you into the station and with one train the wait can still take up to 20 minutes. So far this year they have been holding the queue at the station entry so most likely you will only have one ride or 2 rides in front of you. If that is the case you don't have to worry. You can pick any seat. I would try both front and front of the back car. It is a great ride in both places and both are worth experiencing. Mind Bender sometimes closes during and after rain until the track dries. Same with Batman. Not sure if this is still the case. Batman Flash Pass shouldn't be a problem since it is Platinum only this season. You will have to ride in the back 2 rows. Some of the rides have Flash Pass entry in the exit and some into the station. Station line entry lets you pick any row. Here is a rundown: Enters station queue: Georgia Cyclone Georgia Scorcher Goliath Superman Dahlonega Mine Train Mind Bender Exit entry: DDD Great American Scream Machine (You are forced into the back 2 rows of the second to last car so if you can get here fairly early and the line isn't long, I suggest you wait and try both front row and first or second row of the last car). I highly suggest Thunder River. It's the most realistic rapids ride I have been on. A great ride. Also make sure you try Monster Mansion. Easily the best classic dark ride in the Six Flags chain. A total gem. Acrophobia is another must do because of the stand up seating and tilt at the top. it is much scarier than the rest of the third gen Intamin towers. For food... There is a Macho Nacho in the center of the park between Goliath and Monster Mansion. There is a Macho Nacho Express in Lickskillet on the side closest to Ninja. If you decide you want a burger, definitely do Miner's Cookhouse. Best burgers in the park and they have a topping bar that includes sautéed green peppers, onions, etc. Really adds to the burger. You can also watch the Wild West Comedy Gunfight show at the outdoor seating and it really is a fun show. The bacon or chicken cheddar ranch waffle fries are worth it too. If you want to save money there is a Wendy's right up from your hotel. It's a 10 minute walk. 5 minutes from your hotel tops. It is right there and if you are going to the hotel mid day anyways it's a good way to save money. Plus food lines can take forever in the park. Night rides... Goliath of course but Mind Bender and GASM also make for great ones. Probably not possible to do all 3. It won't be truly dark for long before 9pm. Sky Buckets is a fun ride and I don't think they have a no single rider policy since they literally lock you in the cage. Cyclone has some of the most intense ejector air in the front of the back car if you can withstand getting banged around a bit. Canyon Blaster as Joker Funhouse Coaster will not be open. It is a really good family coaster so hopefully you'll be back some day for this and Ninja. Single rider lines exist but are a joke. Hand stamp re-entry If you already have a blue souvenir cup bring it or buy one! Drink refills can take 20 minutes but with the free refill cup you can just walk into any of the 3 Coke Freestyles and pass everyone and go right up to the machine. It is a lifesaver. Plus Coke Freestyle is awesome. They have one to the right of the Crystal Pistol in the Coke store, one at the Hydration Station along the cut through the following alongside Thunder River, and one in Cotton States Exposition. Alcohol is in a few places but I know they have a place across from Acrophobia. The sports bar will have beer too but I don't think it is open yet. It is to the left of the entry to Bugs Bunny Boomtown. The best stores are the ones on either side of the main street when you enter the park. Attitudes is a good store too but doesn't have as much Six Flags branded items. I might go to the park but it depends on how crazy my weekend is. I won't be buying Flash Pass anyways so you wouldn't want to be around one of us normal people standing in line haha. I can almost promise Flash Pass Platinum will be worth it though unless the park is dead for the first time in a long time and everything has 2 train ops. Doubtful! If I go to Spring Fling with ACE I could add you as a guest if you want to pay $50 for 2 hours of exit passes (irrelevant if you get FP), free food, and 20 minutes morning ERT on Goliath as well as an hour from 9pm-10pm on Goliath and Mind Bender. The ACE crowd may be half crazy people but the perks of the event are nice.
  20. ^Gorgeous. Even though I am a log flume fanatic and really liked the look of their log flume and found it to fit in the park much more nicely, I will say this looks great and will hopefully provide an awesome ride experience!
  21. I had a tree branch fall on me once in the woods... who do I sue for that? Dollywood should really do a better job at training their trees to be nice to customers.
  22. I can not wait to ride this sometime this summer. That thing is HAULING and it will probably only be faster in the hot summer broken in and with full trains. I'm so ready!
  23. I might have to agree with this! Both are great rides. Stanley Falls is gorgeous and Dudley-Do-Rights is so long and immersive.
  24. Wow this thing looks even more strange than in the renderings. I mean that in a great way of course! I have to get up there to try it out!
