  1. Looks like someone has already made an online petition to save Thunder Road. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savethunderroad
  2. Sorry for the double post, but I saw this cool photo from VF's page. Its a panorama from the slide towers. https://m.facebook.com/valleyfair/photos/a.10150649643406880.419313.92381271879/10153321465926880/?type=1&source=48
  3. Twitter profile picture: Guy in the back right.
  4. Trying to learn some JavaScript...
  5. Could you tell me where you found this info? And I agree, that would be a truly insane ride experience!
  6. I actually heard my back crack on the ride today, and I know how to ride the thing. I like the ride, but I understand why it's not popular. My trip report: I went on Sunday and today. I forgot my camera at home today, which was when I planned on taking the most pictures, so this will be a picture-less trip report (Sorry guys!) Sunday- Run and Ride Race. I volunteered for the event and had a great time despite the heavy rain and wind. Most of the rain got out of its system by 9:30-ish, so rain wasn't a real problem. I took my first ride on Steel Venom this day. I was always terrified by it but I finally faced my fear and enjoyed it. I'm the only one in my family that enjoys it, though. It was rougher than Renegade on Sunday, which didn't make for a very good ride experience. I'm thinking I just got a bad seat. Renegade was a bit rougher on Sunday than it should have been. High Roller's retracking made this ride smoother than most of the rides at the park. Tuesday- Math and Science day I was fortunate enough to go to this event and I loved it! I got to take an accelerometer (Home-made with duct tape and all that cool stuff) on the rides to really geek out. Don't worry, it was within park rules today. The Physics Force team did a really good job! They were entertaining, fun, and educational. It was awesome. High Roller was smooth, retracking really paid off. Steel Venom was a lot smoother than it was on Sunday. Wild Thing is way better with a full train than with a mostly empty one. There was one member of the crew that held them back, but when this person was in the control booth they were dispatching trains before the other train came into the brake run. Renegade was running really smoothly. I saw one of the members from the old crew, which is a good thing! I had to ride Excalibur 4 times because it was so bumpy I couldn't read the accelerometer! I heard my back crack on the last run, which probably isn't good for my age. The crew was incredible, so make sure to ride it. I saw water running on the slides. There was a lot of people in the waterpark, must have been doing a ton of pre-opening preperations. Somehow the Sindwinder Burrito ran out of rice. Since it was mostly school groups at the park, everyone left at about 3, leaving walk-ons to everything. I got a private ride on Power Tower, and I got re-rides on Wild Thing, Extreme Swing, Power Tower, Renegade, and Excalibur. I probably could have gotten a re-ride on Steel Venom, but my family doesn't really like the ride. Mad Mouse opened late. I saw the third tower on Power Tower testing, so that's a good thing (I didn't see it run last year). Sorry for the lack of pictures.
  7. I'll be at the park today with a blue TPR bag.
  8. Steel Venom at Valleyfair about 6 hours ago.
  9. I heard someone say this at Valleyfair today: "We should go on the ride that is fast and has hills." I think he was talking about Wild Thing, but I have no idea.
  10. I was at the park today from 6:30 A.M. to about 1:30 P.M. (I helped out with the race, that's why I was so early). I'm going again on Tuesday, and then I'll probably do a full report with photos and stuff. The park was completely empty today, and I got re-rides on a few rides. I tried to go through the park as quickly as possible to see how I can hold up when I go on my first multi-day trip in June, and I ended up getting on every major ride in about 3 hours, which I figured out is too fast. I finished off my day with a really bad ride on Steel Venom, which was rougher than Excalibur and High Roller today. NOTE TO ALL RUN AND RIDE RUNNERS: Great job to all runners! I had an excellent time running an aid station for todays runs. I was the guy at this aid station if you were running the race:
  11. Less than 24 hours till I get to go to the park! I'm really excited I'll be wearing some sort of TPR stuff when I'm there, feel free to say "Hi". Is anyone else going tomorrow?
  12. ^Yes! 4 hours (or 3.5 hours if you are a passholder) until the off-season is done!
  13. I'd love to see some more backseat videos with empty trains. I wouldn't want one with a full train because you could just be staring at someone's head for the duration of the ride (I'm ok with this when you are showing off a ride's "Hair-time". By the way, Intimidator was the perfect ride for a backseat because of all the twisty bits!
  14. I know! I can not wait for opening weekend! I get to be there at 6:30 A.M. so I should be able to see the rides wake up (Yes, I'm a nerd)! I read your blog post, and it said something about free cotton candy for the preview people (Awesome!), which made me remember reading something a long time ago that they would be offering $.25 cotton candy, did this turn out to be true? I'm not sure where I read it, so I'm curious. Glad you had fun!
  15. They aren't testing, it is that pass holder preview day today.
  16. I get to Valleyfair next week!!! I'm really excited!

  18. That would make them want to open the park, light crowds! Valleyfair opens next week, they aren't going to change their opening day at the last minute. Patience.
  19. Tell us which one you prefer, fiction or non-fiction? I prefer non-fiction to fiction. Although John Green makes me question this decision sometimes...
  20. I've been listening to Cozi Zuehlsdorff's album, "Originals". Some of the songs are pretty good! Lots of different genres in the album. Beautiful piano in "That's All She Wrote".
  21. This is another awesome thing you did with this. I typically hate mobile sites (As you said, they are unneccesary as the old site worked), so this is a very nice feature, Thank you for making a tolerable mobile site
  22. Good work, this is pretty nice! I never like most mobile versions of sites, but you guys did it right.
  23. The original owner's last name was Kresge. How is it already May?
  24. May the fourth be with you
