  1. From the SFGAdv Thread Congo Rapids? Yes. And it still sucks. In the first post I was talking about Knoebels. Negativity in regards to Six Flags is entirely justified.
  2. It was running last week, so I'd assume it's open.
  3. Over-crowded stations really bother me. There should never be more than a 2-3 train wait for every row in the station. The only rows that should have a wait longer than this are the front/back rows.
  4. That exhibit looks great! Nice to see that old High Roller train! I'm going to disagree with this. I just got back from this drive. We did it all in one day. we left around 7:00 A.M. and got to Sandusky area at around 8:45 P.M. Eastern. It can be done. Leave early and assume it'll take you all day. It's a pretty easy drive (Essentially 1 road through Wisconsin, 1 road through Indiana/Ohio, but there is the disaster that is Chicago). As long as you can get through Chicago during a non-rush hour time, it works out pretty well. Also, for the bag check/security thing, it takes no time at all. we used the marina entrance, and they actually wanded us and checked people's bags while we were waiting for the park to open (They went through the line, instead of you needing to stand in a line to go to them). I would still recommend getting to the park around 8:30, and walking over to the Marina entrance.
  5. To get in you'll just need to show your platinum pass, and they'll go for 1 hour. In Millenniums case if we finish the regular line at 10:25 we'll open for platinum pass holders from the 10:25-11:25. Hope that helps. Awesome! Thank you!
  6. Hey everyone, I'm noticing that there is a Season Passholder ride night this week on Millennium and Rougarou, How exactly do these ride nights work? How long do they typically go on for?
  7. I just drink a lot of water, that's all it takes for me.
  8. I don't get it either. You also can't take pictures on the Ferris Wheel. I'll never understand that.
  9. That line is half of a switchback. Must be a pretty crowded day at the park.
  10. I have brought my water bottle to the park several times. I would just bring one, and if you get turned away, so be it. I don't know why they wouldn't allow it, though.
  11. In Duluth, there's some fantastic meatloaf at Blackwoods. We stop there almost every time we're in Duluth, it's great. As for Shakopee, I have no idea what's nearby.
  12. They've been doing security checks sporadically at Valleyfair this year, and I've heard they've started at MiA as well. At VF, they brought out a few folding tables for them to go through people's bags and had a wand metal detector. So, they didn't really "install" a security checkpoint, but they do occasionally bring it out. Not sure if this is what KI is doing or not.
  13. I get the 'hops' but...'hot dish'? Is this BBQ? Or Buffet? Or.....? Just curious, thanks. If you live anywhere but the Midwest, it's called a casserole.
  14. There's really no way to explain how much fun it is, but this video put out by Indiana Beach gives you an idea of what it is. Side note, I had no idea she had been working that game for so long! Wow!
  15. We stayed at Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee when we went last summer, which is an easy walk to the park. And as previously mentioned, there's a LaQuinta Inn nearby (Which is a lot cheaper than the Hampton). There's plenty of hotels within walking distance, so you should never need to pay for parking.
  16. I hadn't realized how much the new owners had done to the place, it looks amazing compared to when I was there last year! I'm really liking Tig'rr's new paint. Nice trip report!
  17. If it's topping 2.5 hours on a weekday, I'll be interested to see what it'll reach on a July weekend, when the other rides don't have just 10 minute waits. Although, for some reason, I'm not at all surprised that this is happening, from what I've heard of the park.
  18. I'm going to join the "Quote coasterbill Bandwagon" here. Also going to add this.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIwDogUsg8s
  20. I've only used the Marina Gate when staying on property and I specifically used it to get to Valravn. I took an early shuttle from Breakers to that gate rather than use the Resort or Beach gate. I'm pretty sure the lot is signed for Marina visitors/use but I can't say for sure. Good to know, thank you!
  21. Hey, I'm headed to the park for the first time next week and I'm wondering if the marina entrance (The park entrance that goes underneath Valravn) opens up for early entry. I would assume it does, I just want to confirm that that's the case. Also, could we park at the marina parking lot, even though we don't have a boat parked at the marina? Or is it limited to just the boat owners? Thanks!
  22. This ride is WAY faster than I thought it was going to be. This is going to be great!
  23. Nah, Wild Thing looks underwhelming in the shadow of Flying Eagles But you can't snap on these Eagles. Is that a rule, or is this just because they're Larson Flyers?
  24. Never understood the purpose of these rides. The only one I would care about if they removed would be Knoebel's, and that's only because of the name.
  25. You see a licence plate with "RMC" on it, and you instantly become jealous.
