  1. Maybe for the next election, someone will run under the slogan of "Make America SMART Again". That is a campaign I could get behind.
  2. You are getting great advice. I just wanted to chime in and second the recommendation for Lion King. I was "wow-ed" at how good it was. I have been there twice, about 13 years apart. The first time, I went to it kicking and screaming. The second time was "no way in hell are we going to miss Lion King".
  3. Sadly, Jim Nabors, AKA Gomer Pyle, age 87. That's a good age though.
  4. >>>3) Go back to Germany in 1888, buy a Kangaroo (the animal with the strongest kick of any animal on earth besides a Zebra but you can't train Zebras, they're a**holes). Teach it to kick people in the nuts with incredible precision, let nut kicking zebra loose in Alois Hitler's house about 9 months before what would have been Hitler's birthday.<<< This is an interesting one to ponder, and I have. What if he never was? How different would the world be today? The US was not the military power it is today back then. It became so as a result of WWII. So much technology came about due to this war. The baby boom came because of this war. The middle class and suburbia came because of this war. And of course...."the bomb" came because of this war. Now, I think we all can agree this was one of, if not THE worst person to ever walk the face of the earth. And I am not implying the world is a better place because of him. But I do like thinking of the what ifs for this scenario. I also have been enjoying The Man in the High Castle. Another interesting what if scenario.
  5. When I was there last week, I got into the queue for X2 right at 5:30. They were only running one train, and I finally got on at 6:25. FWIW.
  6. My brain did not even go there. One would think medical, not what you are thinking.
  7. Fu11 Throt1e sports bar is in the park, you don't have to leave. Drinks not that much more than you would pay at any bar.
  8. I am a huge fan of the Ghost Town Grill. You get a nice discount with your platinum pass too. A nice sit down restaurant, that also has BEER!!!
  9. I have really enjoyed reading about your trip! I have never been to CP, sadly, but hope to go next year. I feel like I know the park now better than ever. By the way, you mentioned a couple times about wake up calls, and the room clock that could not be fixed. Why didn't you use your cell phone as an alarm clock? That has always been my travel alarm, and heck, I even use it at home.
  10. If you are willing to pay for food, as opposed to the dining pass, the Fu11 Thrott1e sports bar is pretty good...and they have a bar!
  11. No We will be at MM at the end of the month. Our home park is SFSTL, they do let each gold pass member take one non gold pass member into the early entry line. Is that not at all parks? Reason I ask is my son and I are gold pass members but my husband is not (he will just be using a day ticket from an ACE coupon) We did the same thing at SFGA last summer and he was able to come into the early line with us so I thought it was standard practice. Well, I know on BAFF day, you can. At SFMM, they scan your pass before even letting you get in the early entry line. I do not see anywhere in print that states you can take a friend in early as a benefit. It most likely is not a true policy, that can be revoked at any time. You could try I guess, but I would not count on it.
  12. As far as trip reports go, yours is no disgrace! Thanks for sharing. I hope to do this cruise in the future.
  13. Lateness....that pisses me off to no end. I work for a County in California, and we have frequent conference calls with many vendors. Here is an example of what happened as of late. The call was supposed to start at 1:00. At 1:02, they stated that we would start in a few minutes to let some late people join. I chimed in stating, "I got here at 1:00 because that was the time the call was going to start. If you plan to start at 1:05, let me know because my time is valuable." I applaud you Robb for leaving without them. If the bus was going to leave 15 minutes late to accommodate folks like that, how unfair is that for the folks that got to the bus on time? What could those responsible folks have done with those extra 15 minutes, if they knew in advance that the bus really would not leave until 15 minutes after scheduled departure? If the bus leaves on time, and somebody is late and running for the bus, I would be the first to "salute them with the your number one" hand gesture!!! LOL!! On a side note, while on a Disney Cruise, the boat left without a few people, after constant warning on departing the boat that it will leave without you if you are not back on time. I seriously doubt Mickey really cared about those folks!!!
  14. Just leaving the park now. Very uncrowded. 17 rides and a sit down lunch and beer in 5 and a half hours!
  15. I just hope it stays that way for my Friday visit. I did see that Friday is one of those school science days, which I would suspect would bring in some kids, but hopefully not that many. And hopefully they stay busy with the activities, and are not messing up my park entry routine. I like to get in 10-15 rides by noon, and it is fairly easy to do if it is a ghost town!
  16. Thanks for the updates! I think a visit on Friday morning is in the cards. If anybody is going to be there, let me know!
  17. Greetings, I usually look to the site "isitpacked" for my planning on SFMM. I have found it to be fairly spot on in my experience. However, they are stating that this week is going to be packed due to spring break. It was my understanding that most schools have already had spring break, and are back in session. I was planning on going on Friday, to celebrate my birthday! If anybody goes this week, I would really appreciate a crowd report. Thank you in advance.
  18. Yeah, I meant KBF. I meant to type CF, as in Cedar Fair. I have had nothing but wonderful interactions with staff at KBF, and CGA. They are obviously trained in the same manner. Every time I say thank you, they respond with "it was my pleasure". Little things like that make CF parks so much nicer to visit than SF parks. Even though MM scratches my coaster itch like no other, KBF is such a nicer experience overall. I too agree it would be awesome if they disembarked the passengers on the curve! What a difference that would make. While we are at it, do the same for Fu11 Thrott1e!
  19. But keep in mind...the front car line is just that, front car. You can end up in row 2, which is second best. Try to line up by looking at people waiting in line. I have seen many time people refuse to get into row two, waiting for row one. Just sayin. The funny part is, row 2 is still excellent. That was the seat I marathoned at WCB 2014, and the airtime over the top hat is just as fantastic. And due to the elevated seating, you can still see quite a bit just one row behind. Of course, row 1 is the best. But yeah, it's stupid that Xcelerator lines up by car rather than by row. Confuses the GP all the time. Sierra Sidewinder does the same thing, and I've always wondered why. It is kinda weird to me, I think the last row, the one facing backwards going up the lift hill, is the best on Sidewinder. As far as X goes, I will jump to get on row 2 if offered, knowing that they will let row 2 go empty because people will not go on waiting for row 1. IMHO, that should never be allowed. But CP staff is so nice, they never seen to do what we many think is the right thing. So, with row 2 going up empty, sometimes more than once, makes the line for the front car go even slower. *sigh*
  20. Revolution's single rider line is a thing of the past. They closed it sometime last summer.
