  1. ^ I've both faced and stoop up to my fear, and all I got for my courage was terrible leg pain and my head boxed around on the restraints. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.
  2. I've yet to encounter someone that is a fan of Green Lantern. Hopefully the park realizes their terrible mistake and puts GL on the chopping block. Or puts Bizarro on the chopping block and makes GL floorless. Wishful thinking either way...
  3. Yea, count me among those that thought La Cocina was good. I try not to eat the park food, but the taco and refried beans I had at La Cocina were definitely better than overfried chicken strips or a burnt hamburger.
  4. Oh, I agree, Viper sucked. I'm just proud of the fact that I have the credit, and got it at a time where it was rare for the ride to even operate (2004).
  5. There might be something wrong with me, because I read this and immediately shouted out "Yes!" Maybe I never recovered from the concussion Viper (probably) gave me.
  6. I still enjoyed it, because I knew not to expect too much from a Disney coaster. I just felt that it was a bit too long, track-wise.
  7. California Screamin' was one of approximately 4 coasters I rode out west that even had a touch of airtime, so finding out it used to have more really gets me upset. Some more airtime would have kept me from falling asleep on that neverending coaster.
  8. Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are my 'Top 5' TV shows.
  9. ^ I second the argument that Green Lantern is worse than GASM. Also, you could say Blackbeard falls under the category of an intermediate/family coaster as well.
  10. For the longest time I was banging the drum saying that 2016 wouldn't bring a coaster to the park. But after seeing the pictures of what's going on in Old Country, I'm officially changing my tune. Work wouldn't begin this early for any other type of ride. Unless they are adding Justice League, like I've been predicting, and are constructing a new show building from scratch. Either way, this summer's speculation is going to be a lot of fun!
  11. ^^ Looks like a couple of people took a wrong turn.
  12. I personally don't like the addition, but whats done is done. For years people were saying Great Adventure needs more flats, and when they add one people still complain. Just accept El Diablo for what it is, and hope that 2016 brings the park something better.
  13. I loved Viper. It gave me a chance to ride GASM again, in a sense. I hope Magic Mountain doesn't remove it anytime soon.
  14. Damn. The best chance I had at finally riding a Premier spaghetti bowl looks like its on the chopping block. My guess is it'll be SBNO all season.
  15. I can't believe they actually built it in a day.
  16. Wow, very frightening. To echo what others have said; fair rides in the States are sketchy enough, so I can't imagine how bad they are in some other countries.
  17. El Toro also valleyed. There's a photo of it a few pages back. As for the rest of the week, I wouldn't expect the park to be as crowded as it is today. Jackson's forecast calls for rain Tuesday-Thursday, with highs only hitting the low 40s on Wednesday and Thursday. Should scare people away.
  18. According to someone on Great Adventure History who is visiting the park today, it's taking cars over an hour to get from the property entrance on RTE 537 to the parking lot. It's also taking another hour just to get in the park. Pair that with the 2 hour plus waits on the rides, and you've wasted half your day before you even ride anything. That's insanity.
  19. Holy $#!+. I considered taking a solo trip down to get a few extra spins on Nitro, but I'm so glad I didn't.
  20. A quick question regarding pass processing. On Friday, when I scanned my voucher at the gate, the attendant scanned a plastic pass and then handed it to me right then and there. Once inside, I saw a manager watching guests come in and asked if I still had to go down to the processing center. he told me no. But now I'm seeing people mention they had to wait on line at processing, so I'm wondering, was I given bad information?
  21. Like coasterbill said, everything besides KK and ZDOD will (presumably) be open. I love going to GAdv in the rain because the park is usually empty due to people assuming rain = ride closures.
  22. Green Lantern at GAdv on Friday. Feels damn good to be able to post in this thread again.
  23. I would love if GAdv added a new woodie (preferably a racer) to replace RT, but I don't see it. When is the last time the chain as a whole built a non-RMC woodie? I think it's Apocalypse, but someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.
  24. ^ I personally don't think GAdv is even getting a coaster next year, but I agree: no more B&Ms.
