  1. I don't care who wins tomorrow, if the Rangers don't win tonight hockey will cease to exist for me. That being said, I'd certainly prefer the Ducks. EDIT: welp, my worst fear was realized. Rangers season is over.
  2. They aren't building on the lot, because Great Adventure is not involved in the construction. The outside company is responsible for everything with this solar lot, the park just provided the land and will reap its benefits.
  3. Good to know it's still the same ol' Dorney Park we've all come to love. I'm actually really excited for their flats. Demon Drop, Dominator (space shot side), and the Whip all are excellent there. Also looking forward to getting the Stinger credit. Glad to hear the BBQ place is good. Definitely going to stop in for lunch.
  4. My buddies and I are making our annual trip to Dorney on Saturday. Is that new BBQ place open? Is it any good? I remember being underwhelmed with the park's concessions last year. Also, how have the crowds been on Saturday so far? Is it the usual 'everyone in the water park, no one in the rides park', or are more (or less) people hitting the dry side this year? And finally, has Stinger gone down yet?
  5. Once I saw Robb describe this ride as "part Sierra Sidewinder", I was sold. I love that ride, and this looks even better. I'll definitely be making my way down to Tampa for my inaugural visit to BGT once this opens.
  6. I don't recall much "hype" about the solar farm either. And, I might be mistaken, but I don't think the park is really involved with the solar farm anyway, other then using the power generated. EDIT: Did a little digging on Great Adventure History. According to the park's press release from March 26, the solar farm won't be complete and operational until the second half of 2016, and it is going to be owned and operated by an outside company.
  7. I visited the park on a Tuesday last year, and the crowd wasn't bad at all. Waits were due to their sub-par ops., but I had a great time. I did visit later on in the summer however, so I did not contend with school trips.
  8. ^ Ugh. I feared this would be the answer I'd get. Hopefully I can use my powers of persuasion to get my friends to agree to delaying the trip until we can go on a weekday later on this summer.
  9. How are crowds usually on a Saturday? My friends and I are coming next week, and while my gut says "packed", I've never really read reports about the park mentioning heavy crowds. I'm sure the addition of WC will bring more people in, but the park should still be manageable, right? We've all visited before so we aren't concerned with credits. We just need multiple laps on WC, as well as a few spins on Bizarro before we ramble on down the road for night rides on Boulder Dash.
  10. Seeing pictures of Magic Mountain this packed makes me even more grateful that my visit was on a Friday in October. Hope to get back out there as soon as I can; Twisted Colossus looks amazing.
  11. Holy crap! If I turned off 195 and saw cars lined up to Wawa, I'd turn right back around. I can't imagine the park being enjoyable if it's that crowded.
  12. Reading Robb's report just makes me even more excited to ride this monstrosity. I can't wait to get up there; hopefully next Saturday.
  13. I'm failing to see how the potential addition of an S&S 4D, especially since the one at SFFT is getting rave reviews, would be "unfortunate". It looks like a great ride, and I would welcome one here with open arms. So long as it's the larger model.
  14. Not surprised. The statue is very close to the midway and people can walk right up to it. If it shot out flames it could actually be a danger to people. For once it sounds like the State was in the right.
  15. ^ No. no mist or fog today. Probably just for yesterday so the media could get some nice shots.
  16. Was at the park today. Got to ride El Diablo, and it's a lot of fun. The hangtime is great, and it has a nice cycle time. The ride did not have those Kia ads on it today.
  17. Rangers in 6. Ducks in 7.
  18. Comeback from down 3-1 two years in a row. 3 Eastern Conference Final appearances in 4 years. Ladies and gentlemen, your New York Rangers!
  19. Wow that looks like a ton of fun. I'd certainly welcome one at Great Adventure. Question for those who have ridden: how does it compare to a Zacspin?
  20. ^ That strikes me as odd, too. I heard they plan on using the theatre in Old Country for HITP, so perhaps they're renovating Old Country for Holiday in the Park, while simultaneously building a coaster in Lakefront. Whatever happens, I'm just excited that it seems that something big is coming to GAdv.
  21. ^ That's my guess as well. Not my first choice either, but the existence of the rumour that GAdv was supposed to get the one that went to Fiesta Texas makes me believe it's coming next year.
  22. I think, given the progress we've already seen, that a new coaster is the odds on favourite for 2016. Work wouldn't start this early for a flat ride. Unless they're getting Justice League and are erecting a show building from scratch.
  23. The park already has 5 B&Ms. I think a lot of people would like to see a new manufacturer. I know I'd like to see a new Premier launch.
  24. ^I've heard it will be behind the safari, but where exactly, I'm not sure.
