Nailed it. If I want to think about politics I turn on talk radio or the news. When I want to talk/think about roller coasters, it's because I want to take a break from all of that crap. Now... back to Thunderbird. Any more videos? And I agree as well. I only brought it up because it became such a hot topic on the Holiwood Nights Facebook page. Now back to the park. No new videos of TB that can be shared on here (not a TPR supported website). The video was also illegal (IMO), as they drove onto Holiday World property (the employee parking lot) to film the ride. Now this isn't TB related, but I did find a photo of both Legend trains. For those of you who don't remember, The Legend operated the majority of season last year with one train after something happened to the second one. It's nice to see it reappear finally. The Legend really needs that second train in the morning, as it and The Raven are usually the first two rides that get hit with major lines when the ropes are dropped (there is a tip for you first time visitors). Another tip, get to The Voyage first thing in the morning and you won't have that long of a wait. Of course, that's probably all wrong now, as everyone will be running to the woods (and right by The Voyage) to ride TB. From PTC's FB: You know I was thinking about this in terms of park design and ride location. Aside from the fact of purposely wanting to add rides to Thanksgiving, it's also a smart move to locate Thunderbird back there to help disperse crowds a bit more. It will pull from Splashin Safari, the front part of Thanksgiving, and the sometimes congested Halloween section as well. It was a good location pick on so many levels!

Yes yes let's get back to this amazing piece of steel called Thunderbird. I wonder if they are still going to have the cool little lightning and thunder effect at launch. I know it seems like such a small thing to wonder about, but I actually enjoy little things like that on coasters.

AWESOME blog post! Just another reason that Holiday World is so special and amazing! To add to ZeroGravity's excellent post as well.... I just want to add that I DO live in Indiana and it's become VERY clear in the past few days that this bill does NOT represent most Hoosiers values. I have yet to run across ANYONE that thinks this bill was a good idea. I will also add that the Mayor of Evansville(closest larger city to Holiday World) who is by the way republican if that matters, has publicly stated he does NOT like the bill at all. Him and our city council urged the governor to NOT sign this bill into law. I say this because I'm all for boycotting places that discriminate and hold low values, however when stepping into the Indiana situation, it is safe for outsiders to assume most places (cities, businesses) are NOT in support of this bill. So as a Hoosier, I implore you to not cancel plans to visit Indiana because honestly, it's not a good representation of our state values.

I know the focus right now is all about Thunderbird, and rightfully so, but I wonder if they will share any pics as they normally do of the rest of the park preparing for opening? One year I think they did an IT chronicles showing how they prep the registers and other tech around the park. Am I too soon to see any of that? I know it shows my nerdy side, lol, but I enjoy that kinda stuff, lol.

Woa... That train is really bookin it out of that station! Very impressive. It's amazing how these launched coasters can get up to speed so quickly.

Not at all, I'm pretty sure EVERY SINGLE ENTHUSIAST prays for one each time they're on a launched coaster. At least I do Ahhhh ok thanks! I feel much better now lol. Thought maybe I was just weird! Of course we are all a little weird anyway when it comes to this hobby, lol.

Is it weird that I think a rollback would be kinda fun to be on? Lol

Oh and one more thing, lol I think it's safe to tell everyone now that Trayvon Owen made it into the top 10 on American Idol! That guy has an incredible performance this past week. I keep watching and waiting for him to mention his bout at Holiday World! I think HW should try to get him to come back for a special performance after the show is over. That would be SUPER cool!

I'll never doubt HW's ability to keep a line moving. The only ride there I've ever felt like the line would never end was on the Wildebeast and that was its opening year, a very very hot day, and before they had all the awnings and stuff to keep people cool in line. Once the Mammoth opened and they added some things to the queue to keep people cool it got MUCH better. Adding a 2nd water coaster really was needed for them. But as far as their coasters, even when The Voyage opened and they used the full capacity of the queue I think I only waited maybe 30-45 and the line was constantly moving. HW will know how to operate and dispatch this ride very very well..... And even if it starts out rough with the wait they will fix it very very quickly.

I wonder if there is an award anywhere for ride theming and color scheme? This just looks incredible. So proud of my home park for really stepping up their game in these areas. I just can't believe this is at our Holiday World!

Trayvon Owen has made it into the top 11 on American Idol!

After construction is complete I'm going to miss the Hard Hat Chronicles! Does any other park put this kind of time in for their fans? As far as Thunderbird its self... Well the animations just did not do this thing justice from what I see so far. I also know there is still lots of work to be done on the theming but the animation didn't do that justice either. The station and the barns look so so so much better in real life, and I thought the animation was amazing. I have a feeling that HW and B&M are going to hit it out of the park with this one in every way....more than any one expected.

Wow... Incredible. So amazingly bizarre to see such a coaster in operation on Holiday World grounds. This just looks incredible!
