  1. ZeroGravity - I agree completely with what you are saying. The good news is, is that HW is GREAT at that kind of stuff. I don't think ya caused an uproar at all lol. I think we were just mainly contemplating which holidays they would be willing to do and which would be harder or easier for them to do. Christmas alone isn't easy to do these days when it comes to being politically correct, but HW has been doing Christmas since their inception of course and they have it nailed to the point that my non Christian friends never feel offended when going to the park. It's very very tasteful I guess is the word.
  2. It's actually EXPECTED from most people beforoe they even go to the park. The Koch family is a family of christians.... its a family owned and operated park... of course their beliefs will be key to how they run the business.... it sure as heck hasn't hurt their business any. I"ve seen their Gospel show a few times... its actually REALLY good! I think we it comes to themeing of areas and rides we need to remember how they have done things like Gobbler Getaway... They made it VERY clear when that ride came out that the reason you are calling turkeys and not shooting them is because they didn't see that as being appropriate for a family theme park. Believe it or not, its those kinds of things that really make HW stand out even more than any other park. They stick to their values no matter what... its not all about just making money for them. That family TRULY LOVES to be able to give people a clean family friendly, super fun, and economically feasible place to go and have summer fun. That may be how their park has been so successful but the reason wasn't just to make gobs of money. I think we should keep that in mind when trying to guess future themeing for rides or areas......the money part comes 2nd to their values.
  3. HWLover - yea I too could see frightful falls as being part of that project. It would free up tons of space in Halloween and 4th of July for new rides. I don't see HW just abandoning those older holidays just because they have ran out of space. And since Thanksgiving, all the other holidays seem really small in size. I'm not sure thats something they would want to remain. In the future thanksgiving will be the center of the entire park. That means either new Holidays (I don't see them adding many more) or changes in holiday boundaries. I just wonder if at some point they may move one of those older holidays COMPLETELY to the backside of the park and then maybe expand a holiday in the original part of the park? Hmm I also remember Will in an interview at one point mentioning that they have looked into ways to transport people around the park, especially the back where thanksgiving is. That is quite a hike and it's all downhill. This might be something I could see as part of the 2015 expansion as well. Man I could talk about HW of the future for hours, lol. Glad I'm not the only one.
  4. Yes, this is kind of where I was going with it. We all know there currently really isn't much room in the original holidays to really expand much there. This would be a vehicle for them do to so. Not sure a major launch coaster is something they would do, but it's a nice thought, and a good large area to add something nice. Again just kind of a "off from left field" theory I wanted to throw out there. Personally I'd love to see a bigger better version of a rapids ride there. I love Raging Rapids now, but when they launched it long ago they really made it out to be a big deal... And to me it never quite lived up to the hype they gave it. I love rapids rides in general and I've been on some that are way more exciting. Plus it's rare I ever really do get wet on the thing, but that could just be my luck too. It's also Very very rare that I ever see a line for it and I am almost always offered a reride. Might be a ride prime for HW to take a new look at.
  5. I am doing better, thanks for asking. Not 100% yet but I'll get there. The bad part is this means no HW for me this season =( will be the first season in years. However my doc does say by next spring there should be no problems doing HW... SO I should be good to check out this new expansion. Although I really wish I could try the mayflower this year. I know several people who have tried it and said its actually a way more fun, and better ride, than your normal festival pirate ship ride. I do agree the blue prints really don't fit into my theory, unless it really was just scrap paper Paula used to throw us off (which I could see her doing). I do agree the water park really doesn't need more...and the two water coasters are AMAZING. However Raging Rapids isn't a water park ride, as it's in Holiday World, the dry park. And PP/Giraffica was kind of both, which a rapids ride could be too.. Which fits in because it seems like they really wanted to make that 2nd entrance to Splashin Safari work. However I agree its way more likely its a coaster, and that's what I hope it is to. Was just curious if from what we know so far a rapids style ride would fit into the clues we have so far as well as it seems to me?
  6. Hahah yea I knew it was 66daysatsea, thanks for your correction! I edited my post accordingly and apologize... I had a stroke a few months ago so I will just blame it on that. Lol thanks for the welcome!
  7. hey everyone! I'm new to the website, but I've been reading all the replies in this thread about the HW 2015 announcement. I wouldn't consider myself a "coaster" enthusiast, but more of a "Holiday World" enthusiast, lol. But in general I LOVE theme parks and roller coasters. HW is my home park, as its only about a 25 min drive for me. I've been going there since I was a kid (pre Splashin Safari days even) and have grown up with the park(I'm now 33) Around here Holiday World gets talked about A LOT by the GP. before HW became famous nationwide, we always thought of it as one of our best kept secrets of southern Indiana. It's awesome to see how much the park has grown and yet at the same time hasn't changed the down home feeling you get and how well your treated when your at the park. The park is applauded around here for so so many reasons I can't even list. But I just wanted you all to know I follow the park like it was my job almost, lol. However, I"m not an engineer and like I said can't really say I'm a coaster enthusiast so If I mention something here that seems off or makes no sense at all, please please do let me know, and I apologize in advanced. ANYWAY... I was thinking about all the clues on 66daysatsea and just how HW loves to surprise their guests at every chance they get. Now I KNOW we all want a new coaster.... and from what I can tell/read I do believe there is probably a coaster involved somewhere in this expansion. HOWEVER.... I like to throw this out there for you guys to think about... ..What if, HW has decided to replace Raging Rapids.. with a new white water rafting type of ride.. thats completely unique to HW. One that might actually have lift hills of some sort...and underground tunnels, and moments inside buildings for theming... It would be a MASSIVE ride that would blow any other white water rapids ride out of this world... and something only HW could and would do. Worlds longest rapids ride anyone? THe new rapids ride would go in the area everyone is discussing around the Voyage/Hyena Falls/Giraffica area... and this type of ride could indeed reuse parts of abandoned Giraffica ride. I then see them tearing out the old Raging Rapids and putting something super cool and new there in its place. If they were to build such a ride, then it would go PERFECTLY with the theme of all of the 66daysatsea posts. All those things could be implemented. I know its probably NOT what they are doing... but I could FOR SURE see them doing something like this. So my question to you guys is... would something like that be possible as part of this project? Is it possible from the engineering sence? Am I crazy for thinking that all the clues would fit perfectly with such a ride? Just something I came up with and wanted to throw it out at some of the experts. Do not be afraid to tear my little theory a new one. PLEASE DO! I want to hear what you guys think. Just please remember, I'm not at the same expert or even coaster enthusiast status of you guys, lol. Anyway, thanks for listening to my first post and its a pleasure to be here and meet you all!
