Ilya Kovalchuk Retires http://espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/story/_/id/9470677/ilya-kovalchuk-new-jersey-devils-announces-retire Good thing the Devils still have their first round pick....oh wait. LOL! Kings dodged a huge bullet in not winning the Kovalchuk sweepstakes in 2010! -

Just saw Cabin In The Woods. What an awful movie! I cannot believe it got a 7.1 on IMDB . I've seen movies on the SyFy Channel that were better than this steaming pile of crap. -
X2s reliability has greatly improved since its transformation. I'd say its just as reliable as the other rides in the park. X2 is a love it or hate it type of ride. Personally, its my favorite ride in the park and one of the few rides in the park that IMO is worth a re ride. For the best ride, ride it first thing in the morning before it has a chance to warm up. Sit towards the front of the train with the heavier person sitting on the outside seat. Make sure the restraints are very snug on your shoulders and chest.

Get the Front of Line pass for the HHN at USH, you will need it. 60-120mins lines for each maze. FOL is not really needed for the daytime if you get to the park at opening and take advantage of their Single Rider lines. Plus, October is the off season for Universal Hollywood, lines probably won't exceed 30mins. As for discounts, It may be worth it to buy an Annual Pass. AP holders get discounted HHN tickets. In October, Universal should be offering their "Buy a Day get the rest of 2013 and 2014 free AP" deals. You may want to call Universal prior to your visit to see what the restrictions are in regards to the AP discounted tickets. Public Transport between Knotts and Universal is feasible if you plan on only going to Universal during the day. For HHN it is not possible as the buses and subways do not run late enough.

I was at the park last week and Xcelerator was only running one train. The second train was in pieces next to the transfer track and does not look like it will be back on the ride anytime soon. I find it very odd, that it is now July and Xcelerator is not running two trains. It made for some pretty brutally long waits in that queue with zero shade. Anyone know whats going on? The only time I've seen Xcelerator running one train in the middle of the summer was back when the ride first opened.

...and Bobby Ryan is now an Ottawa Senator. There's your reason why Alfredsson is now a RedWing. GREAT move for the Sens! -
Got 11 rides on Full Throttle today as apart of the Good Morning America shoot and the Season Pass ERT. Very fun ride. The hang time in loop and ejector seat air time brakes were great. IMO the stop in the tunnel and backwards launch were pointless. Would much rather have the train get a boost through the tunnel than stop. Fun ride overall, slightly more intense than California Screamin but several steps below Xcelerator.

If they do this I hope they have an "opt out" option. I trust SF's mechanics but I don't trust their data security to safeguard my fingerprints, retina scan, urine test, etc. I have never had a problem with my SF season pass, biometric surveillance technology is not needed. The photo is sufficient security to keep the pass from being overused. There are a lot of other things they could spend money on to improve their parks instead of this such as a roof over the station of their new coaster. Call me paranoid, but I don't really want my biometric data anywhere it doesn't have to be (driver's licence, passport etc.), I just have trust issues with large corporations, not that the last week has helped make me less so, but I think they need to have an opt out for those of us that are a little on the cautious side (I'm sure it's a fair percentage). They are not taking your finger prints. The scanner measures points on your finger then assigns a numerical value to your ticket. That numerical value must be matched each time you pass thru the turnstiles on future visits. Another added benefit of using the biometric scanners is they could eliminate re entry hand stamps.
