Colossus is just a giant family coaster. Its really nothing special. Apocalypse at SFMM is a MUCH better wood coaster. GhostRider use to be a GREAT coaster, but due to a lack of proper upkeep, its a brutal POS now.

Did the lift motor or chain break? Last time X/X2 had a unexpected closure for that long was due to the lift motor breaking and a new one had to be manufactured. You are giving SFMM WAY too much benefit of the doubt. Back when X unexpectedly closed for 6 months back in 2006/2007, when they did manage to reopen, the ride looked as if it wasn't touched during the entire closure. Grime and dust everywhere . USH is going to be construction wall city, a lot like DCA circa 2008-2012, very soon. ^ Its possible. Not the first time Xcelerator or any Intamin rocket coaster cable has snapped. After the 2009 accident, the cable snapped again, but they got the ride back up and running pretty quickly. Also, I think the fact that none of the local media has picked up on the incident (yet) is a good thing. I had plans to go to Knotts tomorrow to get a few night rides on Xcelerator...ha, so much for that.

2009 - Terminator 2010 - No coaster 2011- Green Lantern, Road Runners Express (Superman Escape From Krypton) 2012 - No coaster (Drop of Doom) 2013 - Full Throttle. So going off a pattern, they tend to add new coasters every other year. So I think 2015 is when we will see Iron Colossus. If SFMM gets anything next year, it most likely will be a small addition. It would not surprise me if they put off the next big addition until 2016, so they have something new to draw people away from Harry Potter at Universal.
