  1. I hope the next batch reverts back to Gradv's or SFFT's color schemes
  2. Knott's has gotten a pretty decent chunk of capex the last few years. Iron Reef, the refurbs of Calico and Timber Mountain Log ride, Ghostrider rebuild etc; The park receiving "nothing" in comparison to the other big CF parks is incorrect. I love this pie chart, gives a great perspective of why certain CF parks seem to get "shafted" while others seem to lavish.
  3. If Knott's gets a Dive coaster they wouldn't have to get one the size of Valravn. They could get something like Krake or Baron, the GP would still eat that up.
  4. Whoops haha, well this is interesting!!
  5. Wow they've wasted no time deconstructing Kanonen. Can't wait to see where this goes, my guess is somewhere in Europe but who knows...
  6. While I'd love to finally have a proper hyper or giga in California, my biggest worry is how it'll make Knott's look. Surely any large B&M over 200ft is sure to dominate the skyline. Silver Bullet is already an eyesore to those of us who remember the old, quaint, pre-Cedar Fair Knott's. A hyper would be 2-3 times more ostentatious than SB. Do we really want Knott's to look like Gröna Lund?? I think it's neat how everything sits on top of one another there, but it'd look extremely tacky at Knott's.
  7. I'm by far a bigger Intamin fan, but interesting if you break it down B&M does MORE things better. Hyper/Giga-Intamin Inverteds-B&M Stand Ups-B&M Sitdown Loopers-B&M Wing Coasters-B&M Flyers-B&M (by default) Dive Machines-B&M (by default) Launchers-Intamin Woodies-Intamin (by default) Flatrides/Water rides/Drop Towers-Intamin (by default) Other factors: Reliability-B&M Capacity-B&M Cost-Initial investment is equal, but maintenance B&M Durability-B&M, Hulk and the Japan Raptor are the only ones that have been scrapped so far Looks-B&M (subjective however)
  8. That aerial shot really highlights Hurler's lack of structure. I imagine RMC will add significant lumber to the ride whilst using the same footprint. I imagine this is why they're already starting, while usually most conversions of Hurler's size start in Aug/Sept.
  9. The way SF is talking about reducing capex, I don't see any B&Ms coming to SFMM anytime soon. Especially not the year right after Justice League.
  10. Nice!! Too bad it'll never run that fast once they put the softer wheels on
  11. While I don't take Screamscape as Gospel, I guess we know why now the event was switched to Magic Mountain. Like with RMC Mean Streak, I'm team KBF2018 Yeah sorry but Screamscape is merely a fanboy site and does not generate actual news. Cedar Fair has a yearly budget. They cannot spend whatever money they want. The two RMCs are going to take most of that budget, leaving the rest for a flat ride or two, some events, and park upgrades. For 2018 I can see KBF getting a new flat ride and maybe their own version of Winterfest but a new coaster, let alone a large B&M, is just not possible with not one but two others coming in the chain. Not only that but the land occupied by Boomerang and its surroundings is a very poor place to put a coaster. It's better to wait for other land to clear to put in a nice ride. Have you seen Knott's skyline? They're masters at fitting things in. And for all we know RMC Mean Streak/Hurler might have come from the 2017 budget or split between 2016/2017/2018. Although I'm not 100% certain, I dont think they'd be in a rush to remove Boomerang in April for flat ride
  12. I prefer the Sky Rocket II models, the launches feel more intense (the 2nd and 3rd to be exact) and overall feels more forceful. Not to mention that pop of ejector you get in the first few rows and hangtime on the in-line twist.
  13. Yes, it's cramped but in a very organized way lol.
  14. I've had one since launch. I love it - best console I have owned in a long time. Absolutely game changing. I didnt want one at first, but after seeing reviews on youtube etc; been wanting one but sold out everywhere.
  15. Superman: EFK by far Riddler and Raptor are loud and can be heard at a distance. Mantis was very loud as well, Rougarou is nowhere near the same decibels with the floorless trains.
  16. SFOG really hustled to get JL done, while SFMM and SFGradv still look like giant storage sheds.
  17. Skyrush is the only ride where you feel like you'll be flung out of the seat to your death. It's awesome
