  1. Were all of the coasters open for Holiday in the Park last year? Wondering if I should just push it back and go then. Then again airfare for mid-August is not too bad right now.
  2. Trying to plan a trip for later this year. Is this calender correct? Does this park really stop daily operation in the beginning of August? :/ https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/plan-your-visit/park-operating-schedule
  3. As always, incredible photos. These make me want to go back.
  4. Im totally not qualified to answer this but based on the small handful of parks Ive been to my top 5 parks are: Hersheypark Cedar Point Six Flags Great Adventure Kennywood Morey's
  5. Love this report! So. Much. Random.
  6. I love everything about this thread. THIS is one of my favorite videos of all time.
  7. Since I just got a bunch of credits on a few recent road trips... Pleasant surprises: Magnum - Loved it. Don't understand the hate or complaints about pain. Blue Streak - Just surprised more people don't rate it higher. I haven't ridden a ton of woodies but this is a fave. Gemini - Again, just surprised people aren't bigger fans. I thought this would be average-to-crappy but it turned out to be a fave. Gatekeeper- Always seems to be 'average' or 'boring' according to so many, and while its the only B&M wingrider Ive done, I loved it. Sky Rocket - Everyone seems so underwhelmed by it I had low expectations and wasn't necessarily blown away but it was a highlight of the park (even tho most of their coasters are). Stinger - Made me realize that maybe not all Vekomas are bad. Nothing amazing, but much smoother and enjoyable that I anticipated. Unpleasant surprises: Millennium - It's a GREAT ride (night rides were the best) but it just didn't live up to years of hearing about how amazing it is, therefore I walked away just a little disappointed. Wicked Twister - If you follow my posts you know I love Possessed @ Dorney, so I was really stoked to try WT and somehow it left me underwhelmed. I'm convinced its just that I like the back spike/holding break.
  8. I was going to update this to Jack Rabbit, Kennywood (1920) BUT then I remembered that over last winter my mother found a picture of a very young me on the Screem Machine which opened in Wildwood in 1919 and closed in 1984. http://rcdb.com/1950.htm
  9. Looks like Corkscrew is a walk on.
  10. They are really cranking them trains out.
  11. So you starved yourself just to have "bragging rights" (that anyone who walked into the gift shop could've gotten) for a coaster you thought was a snoozefest? LOL. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to rag on you, but none of that makes any sense to me.
  12. Superman is relatively smooth, Green Latern might need the Mantis treatment even though it really isn't that bad, lol. Could be worse.... Shockwave, Kings Dominion. lol Yeah I was referring to GL. I love Superman. It's short, but the pretzel loop is one of the best elements on anything at the park.
  13. Hey if you guys are in the mood to get clocked in the head repeatedly for two hours, the park is having ERT on Green Lantern (and Superman) on Sunday June 14th 8-10pm.
  14. Nice report, some very cool photos, I'd like to visit this park someday. Were the Fury keychain/t-shirt/pin free? If not, I don't get why would you buy souvenirs for a coaster you thought was a snoozefest if you were trying to save cash.
  15. Personally Hershey is my favorite park, I wouldn't skip it. I'm constantly trying to figure out when/how I can get back up there. Between the 3 AWESOME Intamins, a classic (and smooth) Schwarzkopf, the two GCIs (I liked Wildcat), a unique B&M invert, a totally classic woodie, their line-up is rock solid and the park itself is awesome (except for all of the hills).
  16. This makes me sad. Next year I may do an east coast/midwest vacation so I can hit up any and every park. Cedar Point is definitely a prime destination on this trip. #intaminhype Don't skip Hershey or Great Adv, between those two and CP you have a nice concentration of some incredible Intamins.
  17. I think you may be confusing rough with snappy. Maverick was one of the smoothest coasters I have ever ridden. No rattling, no shuffling. Snappy with ridiculously quick transitions yes, but it tracks smooth as butter.
  18. Wow I posted this almost a year ago and already knocked almost off half the list. Crazy! Road trips FTW. Updated: I305 * Volcano Bizarro (SFNE) * Thunderbolt (Coney) A. Chariot * Alpengeist * Verbolten Montu * Cheetah Hunt Kumba * Manta * Tatsu * YOLOcoaster Phoenix * The Voyage * all the RMCs * Now I would add: Goliath (Walabi) Dominator (Kings Dom) T-Express Expedition GeForce Boulder Dash Mindbender (SFOG) Helix Blue Fire Diamondback The Beast Banshee Nemesis Balder Wild Eagle Fury 325 all of the megalites
  19. Hmmmm. Just confirmed my buddy rode it 10 times today. Park was dead he said.
  20. A friend was at the park today and confirmed El Toro was running.
