  1. ^ If Dorney was getting a new GCI this year it would have been announced months ago. I am starting to wish that rumor would die.
  2. ^ The trick is to sit in the front car. Its amazing how much better the ride is in the first two seats. Although with the new trains who knows.
  3. It's official, Thunderhawks buzzbars are gone
  4. New Texas Giant and Lightning Rod would like to have a word with you.
  5. Its funny that we all have differing opinions about this. Of those mentioned, Ive ridden Morey's, Hersheys and Great Adv, and of the three Hersheys was SO LAME. Even my other half who LOVES these rides was like "that was totally wack" when we got off of Hersheys. I always want to ride Dorneys but we have always skipped it.
  6. ^ LOL are we talking about Six Flags here? I'm sure the park tore down Fort Independence and the grandstand to make room for a new ride, not to "keep that area open and clean".
  7. God I hope so. I like the purple/green Joker colors much more than the orange/red ToteMay was supposed to get. Also the "Total Mayhem" theme works better if its themed to the Joker, even though we totally don't need anymore DC comic themed rides. But if we must, I'd personally prefer it to be Joker themed (even tho TDK kind of already is).
  8. Im not of the most accurate opinion as Ive only been to SFA once on a quiet day last year, and Dorney a handful of times over the past few years, but I don't recall having a single issue with any of the employees at either - other than Dorney not letting us re-ride anything, but I know they are just doing their jobs and I'm spoiled to death w/ that at Great Adventure because they don't give a sh!t. The employees and ops at SFA were all pretty awesome - they weren't hustling yet they weren't sitting on their asses either but it was dead so its hard for me to say what they are like when its busy. They were all friendly, upbeat, etc, and the crew on S:ROS, even though it was quiet and the trains weren't even completely full, were getting the guests hyped up, telling us to scream, giving us high-fives as we dispatched, etc. As far as the clientele again thats tough since it was quiet but Ive run across many more undesirable types at Great Adventure than we did at SFA.
  9. ^Its a spinner tho, isnt it? In that case, they might as well be not getting anything at all LOL
  10. Not necessarily. Steel Force is completely forceless but it does what 75mph? Compare that to the Batman clones that do 50mph but are some of the most batsh!t insane rides in existence.
  11. ^ Not at all. It popped up in my feed and I thought it was ridiculous.
  12. More flags, more lawsuits... Six Flags files objections in slip-and-fall case
  13. As someone who is hopefully visiting KD for the first time this season, I am much more excited to ride a giant frisbee than a crappy old Togo standup, no matter how good some of you thought it was.
  14. Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. https://www.funlandrehoboth.com/ Speaking of swinging ship rides, Moreys newer one - Riptide, a Chance model, is one of the best Ive ever ridden. Their older one was a classic Sea Dragon that we always loved, it had a little accident a couple years back and they replaced it. The new one is fantastic. Airtime galore on the end seats, its kinda ridiculous. Anyways, back to your regularly schedule Knoebels thread.
  15. I avoided posting in this thread to hold off and see what is actually getting installed this year. Being realistic I have no set travel plans for 2016 at the moment and the parks I do hope to get to aren't getting anything this year (BGT, BGW, SFOG, SFNE, and Kings Dominion). So I know I'm definitely only going to ride 2 new coasters this year- Total Mayhem and Gale Force, maybe the 2 others Castaway Cove is building. ToteMay I fear I will ride once and probably not like it but I know I have to ride it first to know for sure, and its nice to be finally getting an actual new coaster this year at a park close to home. However, Gale Force looks incredible and will have me in Ocean City likely much more often than I go now. Its a dry town - can you blame me? Also while its not new for 2016, I hope to finally get up to SFNE for some Wicked Cyclone, my first RMC. I find myself also interested in Taron, Flying Aces, Lightning Rod, Storm Chaser, Joker, Wildfire, Mako, Valravn, and those crazy Intamins in China. I probably won't ride any of them but they all look really cool and I can't wait to hear some reviews/see some POVs.
  16. Thank you for posting this, this is a fantastic little documentary. As I quickly approach 40 I can relate to this dude and his relationship w/ this hobby when it comes to his age, not to mention this goes way beyond the "look at how crazy this thing is" typical focus of coaster docs and really offers some interesting insight into the psyche of us thrill seekers. The incredible Cedar Point coasterporn is the cherry on top.
  17. Do we know if they are scrapping it? Moving it? Selling it? Are they looking for a buyer?
