couldn't agree more. I wonder why CW wouldn't hype it up as a roller coaster as well as a dark ride.

I was surprised at how it wasn't very crowded on opening day. I imagine the lines were worse for me, but even they werent bad at all. Backlot had the longest wait in the park on opening day, with maybe volcano as the exception.

Heres my thing about the small problem that rebel yell has with roughness. First of all, its not a lot. Second of all, its not as noticable because the airtime hills are so constant. You're not even in your seat during half of the hills. So thats why I prefer RY over dominator. Airtime > Inversions. And I simply like it more than Grizzly cuz it has more airtime!

^ Cedar Point, Knott's, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds? Kings Island honorable mention. And to me, from the outside it looks like a coaster. But I'm really looking forward to seeing the inside with the POV.

Rebel Yell has always been superior to me than Dominator. Dominator is rough in the last half of the ride. Flight of fear is good. But volcano and i305 cant be missed. Verbolten is intense in the black forest section. Griffon is a bit over hyped. Its a one trick pony. Curse of Dark Kastle is really awesome. Apollos is great. Frankly you should just go to both parks. they're both great.

well, whether its lame or not, its about time that this park does something christmas related! its open all year, so it makes sense! now all we need is more parks to do it on the east coast...

I don't like comparing the two parks, but I choose KD over BGW. i305 is phenomenal and is not to be missed. Its my current #1. Apollo's is my current #2 steel, #3 overall. You really should just go to both. They both have things that the other park doesn't have. Current top 5 fav's at each park, in order: BGW: Apollo's, Griffon, Verbolten, Alpengeist, Loch Ness KD: i305, Volcano, Rebel Yell, (Singing Mushrooms), Dominator, Flight of Fear

Huh. This is a very interesting concept design. Sounds more like a coaster than a dark ride, but then again, we haven't seen any evidence of what goes on in the Mountain. Can't wait for a pov! I'm sure this is gonna be a great attraction.

^Thanks. Yeah seeing that photo definitely made me recognize it. I'd seen it before, and just didn't know that that was the old smurf Mountain station. And yeah the singing mushrooms show only lasts a little over 3 minutes and they only sing 4 songs. 2 songs a show. Wish they had more. That'd be a nice upgrade throughout the season. Every month new songs are added!

When u guys talk about seeing the old station for the haunted river/smurf mountain all the time, what do you mean? I go to this park all the time and I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. I'm sure I've seen it before, but I just didn't know that that was it. Anyone have any photos or examples of it?

ok so what I'm getting out of this is that it doesn't have any gimmick to it, however its still a game changer. huh. Mind boggling. Well, guess we'll find out in just a couple of days.

The lines are better, however as usual, you should still get to the park at the beginning of the day, as the lines get longer as the day went on.

^ Thanks. So yesterday I had the opportunity to visit Kings Dominion on its opening day. This was my first time going to a park on its opening day, and so I was really excited. I had been to KD dozens of times, as it is my home park, but I was especially pumped to see all of the things in person for the 40th anniversary. Overall, I really liked it. KD did an awesome job at really taking the park back in time. The weather was good, the lines weren't too long, and it overall was just a good day. But enough talk, on with the pics! Lovin the new entrance logo and flowers. As one of the first few people in the park, you get a free wristband that says "I started the party" Do I spot Candy Apple Grove? At Night, Rebel Yell lights up with the new chaser lights! New/Old color scheme(bonus: they were running both sides) Finally! I've arrived! Love the detail They're bigger than I thought they would be! The crowds love them! They have a huge fan base at the park! Mustaches are cool They really only sing 4 different songs, but ya know, who cares? And finally, I'll end by showing what you get if you talked to an employee on opening day! If they liked you, then you get a free pin! New Souvenir cups! Dominator has new restraints! Very forceful, as usual Look at the beauty! Lookin forward to riding it after the long off season! Break Run w/Volcano in background Do I spot a repaint? Lookin good! Man, they just should've torn it down. It looks good, but its still an awful ride. Good enough to eat! Hard to fit in the mouth, though...

Was at KD yesterday for opening day. Operations were fine. 2 trains on everything, with the exception of rebel yell. But that was ok because they were running both sides.

I am having trouble posting pictures onto here. Everytime i try to post them, this happens: /Users/taylor/Desktop/photo.JPG It doesn't show up as a picture. Can anyone help? Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

I was at kings Dominion today for its opening day. In recap, the crowds were light, and the weather was Great. I'm busy right now but I will have photos posted tomorrow.
