  1. ^x3 That was a good read, it was cool to hear some info from the park about what goes on behind the scenes.
  2. I was just laughing the whole time at this one. It's one thing when people get their facts wrong, but this guy was obviously trolling. I thought it was funny.
  3. This trip report is going along great! I'll be visiting Busch Gardens for the first time on March 9th so this TR got me pretty excited for all the good coasters there.
  4. I agree the building looks very dated. In our Q&A session that building came up and they stated that the BMX extreme show is the most popular show in the park. So maybe a renovation in the next few years? I don't know but they said for now at least it's staying.
  5. Hey! I was in the same tour group as you! That was a great report, It was a lot of fun at the winter chill out.
  6. I hate to crash the party on working with Intamin, but I had a conversation with one of the maintenance workers about Mavericks restraints. He said they're replaced every 2 years as part of the regular maintenance and they just decided to go with the I305 style this time around. So there wasn't any "new" working with Intamin, as he said they were purchasing restraints anyway. On a side note I'd LOVE to get a 200ft Intamin woodie, but I think the dive coaster is coming.
  7. Oh just to add on the Maverick restraints they specially said they will be the same as I305.
  8. Ok here's the info 1. Turnpike Cars are gone 2. Wicked twister midway refresh, calypso is relocating next to the Ferris wheel and dodgem is also relocating over there 3. I305 restraints on Maverick confirmed. 4. They HINTED at RMC coming to the park. Tony Clark & Jason the GM of the park were giving us a slideshow presentation and a picture of Outlaw Run was clipped by really fast and they said "Whoops how did that get here" when they were asked questions about it later they just said "I don't know what your talking about"
  9. Yes, I'll be in the 10AM group.
  10. Oh my, my whole time watching I was just going, false, false, that's the wrong picture, false, Formula Rossa goes 60mph?! False.
  11. I agree spot on with your opinion of the Penguin ride at Sea World.
  12. Great start to the TR! I had a good laugh from reading your Epcot right of passage. I haven't been to Epcot in 13 years but I REMEMBER BEVERLY, and not for good reasons.
  13. Great TR, looks like you had a good time.
  14. Also note, the POV Robb took of The Beast was in the morning on a cold day with an empty train before the park was open for the season, so the ride was nowhere near full speed. When the ride catches the 2nd lift hill, you can see a landing up to the right. During normal operation the train makes it well past that landing when engaging the 2nd lift, during any of the times I've ridden the train has never engaged lower than that landing on the 2nd lift. Also the huge thing about The Beast is riding at night. No lights out in the woods along with a layout you can't see, That's when The Beast truly shines. Like both posters above me, don't knock it 'till you try it!
  15. I was excited for this before, but now knowing the ride hardware is going to be supplied to be supplied by Intamin. And on top of that they're going to build a record breaking drop tower? I'm In. I can't wait to see what type of trains they'll use for this.
  16. I think these are some solid additions to Darien Lake, now if we can get some 2 train operations I'd love to visit again this year.
  17. ^Yes, Ohio's 6 month off season is the worst. I'm going to Tampa in March, and I'll be able to regain some sanity back with a quick Busch Gardens Trip.
  18. Just wanted to chirp in to say The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is an excellent place to visit if you come Ohio's way. If you even like music a little bit it's worth the trip if you choose your Ohio option.
  19. 60fps looks excellent, Montu looks excellent. Future videos in 60fps will look awesome.
  20. Red over brown? Red Iron Horse over brown Mean Streak supports?
  21. ^^^ If you've never been before I'd say 2 full days. And I'd recommend fast lane both days. ^^The park will be jam packed on the 4th of July. But we know Cedar Point can handle the big crowds & their fireworks show is excellent! It's worth a trip if you're ready for the big crowds.
  22. Here's my bucket list of US parks. Knobels HersheyPark Lakemont Park Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Fiesta Texas Sea World San-Antonio ZDT's Amusement Park Six Flags Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm Disneyland & California Adventure Six Flags Discovery Kingdom California's Great America Silver Dollar City Worlds of Fun Six Flags Great America -On the bucket list but will be visiting in 2015 Holiday World Kentucky Kingdom Quassy Lake Compounce Six Flags New England Dorney Park Six Flags Great Adventure Six Flags America Carowinds Busch Gardens Tampa (March 9th!) And I'm sure I'm missing a few, and this is only my US list!
  23. ^Regarding your fast-lane question yes. The extra charge for fast lane plus just adds Gatekeepr, Maverick & Top Thrill Dragster onto the list of rides you can use the pass for. If you tackle the coasters during early entry you would have no problem riding the rest of the coasters buying a regular non-plus fast lane for the day. The only catch is you'd have to walk almost the length of the entire park to get the non-plus rides in during early entry.
